I have a wheel that gt5 recognizes as a controllers analog stick...

My question is, if you have a wheel that it does recognize... does it get less sensitive with speed? or is it possible to oversteer and spin?

It simulates how it would work in a real life car. Unless you use the aids, but those aren't any fun.

That makes me wish that gt recognized mine. >.< lol

Which wheel do you have?(Just curious)

Sorry I can't be of more help, but if anyone is going to be able to help you, we'll need to know what wheel it is.

There are a few wheel settings (in the options menu under steering controllers) that only effect GT Force and Driving force wheels; Amateure/ Professional/ Simulation

You would want it set to simulation. Since we dont know what wheel you have you'll need to test it out for yourself to see whether or not that effects your wheel.

Its the Trustmaster F430 and it works as a giant analog stick... lol

OK that wheel isn't that old. it shoud do the job ok.

Inside sim racing did a review of that wheel that could possibly be helpfull http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6lwfSUKnmqI

Did you check those settings I mentioned above? they might do something for you.

And if you're looking to slide around a bit make sure to turn off the skid recovery force and Traction contoll along with ASM (turn eveything off but the ABS).

EDIT: At the end of that video they metion that its not PS3 compatible, so that might be the issue.

Ok more searching brought this up https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=221881 looks like a GT5 update killed this wheel.

I have the newer "cockpit" version, which is PS3 compatible, but I would like to increase the realism of the handling as it handles like an analog stick... any ideas?

Try turning down the controller sensitivity in the race settings, the menu to toggle aides.
