It should be noted a PS3 can use a mouse and keyboard and I have absolutely no clue why developers have yet to implement that in games.
Actually, some games do support mouse & keyboard on PS3. Unreal Tournament III is one of them.

Sony stated that with the release of the official type pad which clips to the controller they would be pushing more support for the device as well as mouse support... Basically what im saying is that with an official product now out devs will hopefully be more obliged / willing to make use of it.....

Let me put it this way- Far too few use it. And far too few PC only designers recognize that they can now port to consoles without fear of gimped controls (I'm looking at you Blizzard).Actually, some games do support mouse & keyboard on PS3. Unreal Tournament III is one of them.
Doubtful, the Logitech Bluetooth keyboard has been out for well over a year.Sony stated that with the release of the official type pad which clips to the controller they would be pushing more support for the device as well as mouse support... First person shooters don't work on a console.
excuse me?!?
....thats why theres never been a FPS made for a console, let alone a good one![]()
Looks like it will make the controller top heavy, and is in no way, shape or form a replacement for my good old bluetooth mouse & keyboard.
Handy for typing messages, but nothing more. Most def useless for FPS games.
Where have you been hiding the last 13 years?? Under a rock it seems!
FPS games have been huge in consoles since the PS1 in 1995, also, 90% of XBOX 360 titles are FPS games.
What do you call Timeshift, Quake 4, Unreal Tournament, Unreal Tournament III, Call of Duty 1, 2, 3, 4 AND soon to be 5?!?!
Also there's Half-Life (all of them) which is one of the best FPS games EVER.
Admitedly all the ones I have mentioned above are on PC as well, but it doesn't make them any less of a good game because its played on a different machine!
If you were reffering to no FPS games made specifically for a console, then what about Black and Killzone??
I meant for RTS games, not FPS games (I think FPS games on consoles are fine as they are).... this pad would be useful to select units because all you would be doing is pressing the numbers which is all you really do with a full size keyboard anyway. If you can plug your mouse into this then its perfect!
As for being heavy I seriously doubt its heavy enough to make the controller lean forward especially on the DS3 with the rumble motors mounted in the opposite direction. If you hold the controller in the middle it will try to tip towards you.. with the pad it would probably equal it out. All its going to be is some wires to a membrane and some small LED's... so it isnt going to weigh much.
Sony said more games with pad support and mouse support, im just relaying what they said, whether they deliver is another story.

Theres allways been this PC statement that FPS must use a keyboard and mouse to control them.....neither 2 things were desighned for games.........and a "game" pad just dosn't work right.......Myself and countless others on the PS3 and 360 don't seem to have a problem.
The thing is this: a mouse was not designed as a device for gaming, but it has one specific advantage over a controller: the aiming. With a mouse, you aim directly by moving your hand where you want to point your gun at. With a controller, you steer the gun to the position where you want it to be. That may be okay for a high speed arcade fun FPS, but for more serious games, speed and precision are vital. Here, a controller simply won't beat a mouse.Theres allways been this PC statement that FPS must use a keyboard and mouse to control them.....neither 2 things were desighned for games.........and a "game" pad just dosn't work right.......Myself and countless others on the PS3 and 360 don't seem to have a problem.
It's a well known fact that without a keyboard and mouse FPS games don't work, thats why theres never been a FPS made for a console, let alone a good one![]()
Yes a mouse is more acurate I agree but a pad dose not hinder me when playing a console FPS, especialy when everyone else is using the same pad. It's not an issue for me I don't have any less fun or find it harder. The issue I have is when PC guys say a pad "dosn't work on a FPS" It dose and it works absaloutly fine, if it didn't everyone wouldn't buy FPS on a console unless the developers stuck in the ability to use a mouse and keyboard.
