Just wanted to pay my respects to these events that ended today... :bowdown:

They helped me achieve my goal of collecting all cars in GT5 and I also got to level 40 B-Spec thanks to them.

Thank you PD, for events that made getting cash easier, for all of us who don't have the chance to play every single day. 👍

Esteemed GT members, please help me in honouring these awesome events! :D

Spa was good and I will miss it. Sarthe was AWESOME. It took me a few trys but when I eventually won it with my 2001 Audi R8 Race Car it was great. Won by about 40 seconds and in under 40 minutes. The fact it was so difficult made it so very satisfying to win.
 
Sarthe was incredible. I can only hope A-Spec races are like that in the future. Spa was fun and funny to watch the AI repeatedly make stupid mistakes.

Yes, these two races are going to be missed. Spa was a great way of winning some decent money whilst getting on with other things in life, as it didn't really need constant attention (apart from preventing Bob from pitting toward the end, obviously). Sarthe, fairly straightforward using the Audi R8 Team Playstation ORECA, though with fairly constant attention from the Team Manager. Excitement factor certainly multiplied by using lower level B-spec racers, they did have a tendency to make mistakes under pressure, bless 'em... Upshot being, I now have the Ferrari 330 P4 '67, the Ford Mark IV '67, the Lambo Miura, and the Ferrari F2007 in my garage, not to mention a race-hardened crew of Bobs. Thank you very much PD, we enjoyed ourselves very much... more challenges like this please.

I forgot to add my experience: :dunce:

On Spa, I used the Diablo GT-1 from the start and apart from some initial mistakes in tire choice, it always came through.

On Sarthe, in my first try, I used the Mazda 787B Stealth... Won by 0.3 secs, with no tires left! Most exciting finish I ever saw, it looked like the ending of the first race in "Cars"! Except I won! :D

And then I used the 2J with sports. The rest is history.:drool:

Exactly what I did with my money too (except the F2007, already had that). The ticket got me the 2J as well, so it was a great haul for me the last couple weeks.
 
Yeah it was fun, the 2J trick didnt work for me, they destroyed me when I tried and I finished 8th. Then I tried with my C60 Hybrid and the 4th time won the event :) I was very happy it was a very intense and fun race (always pace down at the corner at the end of the first long straight (after both chicane)). Anway it was super fun.

Then I destroyed the competition at spa with my Arta NSX. I used the tune I usually use on it when I drive online and it went perfectly, didnt had to manage him a bit.

Got 40 b-spec with him and complete my car collection so I'm very happy. I hope they gonna give us a A-Spec event like that would be awesome. 10 laps around Spa A-Spec please oh please.

I figured money wouldn't be this easy again for a while so I bought 225 F40s. I have my $20,000.000 in the bank and another $30,000,000 resale value in F40's.

For those of us that do not have any friends :nervous:, it's still the better option!

Oh, and 225 F40s is just winning at saving for a rainy day!:D

I don't know. I'd rather run two or 3 races then have to go through the annoying screens of selling cars.

Yes, you make a good point, given the payout for other seasonal A-spec events...

Maybe for someone who doesn't like to put miles on their other cars? Collectors?

Hey, you do realise that by flooding the market with F40's, you're gonna reduce the value of everyone else's?:sly:
 
Is a shame to see this one go, I used it a lot to get 5 drivers up to level 40, already had 1 there so it's nice to see all 6 finally there. Also helped me to increase my collection of XJ13's, I now have 17 including the Chrome Line version. :)

I too bought the exact same 4 cars! And am loving driving them. I will miss them hugely, and loved loved loved that Sarthe was such a challenge!
 
I am more and more thinking that I missed out on something. :( :lol:
 
What you missed out on is proof positive that PD give B-Spec more love than A-Spec. :banghead:
 
The Le Mans race was a really fun one, the Spa one was a lot easier, only did that one a couple of times. In the end I won the Le Mans race several times with several cars (R8 '01 and '05, 787B, Pesky Judd, Bentley Speed 8, Toyota GT-ONE) and had close finishes with others (R390 GT1, Sauber Mercedes). Best finish was around 39:37 with the Pesky Judd, didn't expect that one to give me the quickest finish, hehe.:p Often cursed at my drivers and sometimes myself if I accidently made them speed up on the run to Mulsanne.:D Such a pity I didn't win with the R390 GT1, would have been nice to have won with the best three cars of GT3. Pitting in lap 2 and 7 just wasn't good enough, finished second at like 2 or 3 seconds behind the winning R8 '01.

Now hoping for more challenges like this.:D Hope the next seasonals will be similar to this, with 10 lap races around Le Mans (and Nurburgring or Suzuka or Spa or something) but then in A-spec, where you can get lots of EXP. Don't really need the money anymore, have all cars I want except a few that I'm still waiting for in the UCD.:D

Seeing an "easy, peasy, lemon squeezy" way of making $8M an hour go away is definitely a reason to "mourn" the loss of this much-loved B-Spec event. :(

I ran it a few times to grab the prizes and a couple more times to make $16M, but at this stage of the game, I don't have too many high-priced cars left to buy. Sure, a few million here and there for race cars as they pop-up in the NCD or OCD, but for the most part, I'm just basically buying cars from the UCD that I do not have or tuning cars that I already do have. ;)

Either way, R.I.P. "Bob's Grindhouse of Easy Credits", you will be missed by many.

Because of these 2 events, I really got into B-spec. Also Le Sarthe was probably one of my most satisfying wins in my GT history:sly:
 
I think it will likely speak volumes to PD that this many people posted just to say how much they loved/appreciated a B-spec event, and will hopefully challenge them to find new ways to challenge US with other such events.

And yes, I really will miss this event. I've got more than one of every expensive car in the game, I've really got nothing much left to shop for, but I was still running this event once or more per day just for the sheer fun and challenge of it. The car you won with last night might not win for you today - I had the Pesky-Hybride win by 18 seconds one run, and lose by nearly a minute the next, without changing a single thing except letting Bob run a bit too hot in a few places, resulting in spins and offs.
 
Sarthe was my favorite B-spec event yet. I sure do wish that it could be a permanent addition. I got me excited to play B-spec again, and I looked forward to trying different cars and tunes everyday. Sadly, it will be missed.

Im glad its gone.

We need fresh new events, and those must be A-spec. :D
 
Back to grinding the old bspec seasonal 600,000 in 15 min :'(
