In gt5, the r390 has less than 400hp. In real life, the car has well over 500hp and is able to go well over 200mph

If it was so good in the game, man, online and time trials would be even worse than they are now.

Equip a turbo, use the power limiter and put 560hp, ajust transmission and there you have it :p

Dude, have you ever driven this car?

Its probably the fastest 600+ PP street car

Hmm. To be honest, this car has been in the game since ?GT2? (I can´t recall), and it has had the same specs. Unfortunately thre is not much information in the street car since only two were ever made, and no particular person ever bought one of them. So in most cases, wherever you search for it, it will give you the specs for the racing version.

I´m thinking that since PD has a close relationship with Nissan, they might have the correct specs of the car kept in Nissan´s storage room. But no one can even guarantee that the car has the engine that it´s specified. It could be nothing but a mule car with a RB26DETT engine on it. To be honest, the specs kind of match a lightly modified Skyline GTR´s engine. Unless there is a picture of the engine bay showing the detuned 3.5 V8.

If the road version didn't have the VRH35 engine in it, it wouldn't have been an eligible car for homologation and Nissan wouldn't have bothered building it.

Basically, it can't have any other engine besides a detuned version of the race engine.

Wow, you seem to have it against me today... Anyway, I´ll agree with you in this one. I didn´t consider the fact that it´s an homologation car, and according to the rules they had to make the excact same car, but street leagal. Kind of the same thing that happened with the E46 M3 GTR.

Not at all, and I apologize if that is what it came off as to you.

One thing to keep in mind that homologation rules do vary depending the series, so I don't want to give you the wrong idea. It is just that for this particular car, the road version needed to be more-or-less identical to the race car as per FIA GT rules at the time.

Road & Track drove a blue R390 Road Car at Fuji Speedway in the October 1998 issue. That car had a 3.5 liter V8 with 550 bhp and 470 lb/ft of torque.

According to the site, the race car has over 600hp

PD might have used the advertised power, Japanese companies tend to show a much lower power than a car actually has...

the r390 and its competition raced in leagues you could only imagine. boost was upped to crazy levels during qualies and they used tires that lasted 1 lap[racingsofts?]. The drivers said they were pushed to their limits.
