While he did say that the pictures were older, and he would not have access to a digital camera for a few months, that picture is quite clearly scanned out of a magazine. You can easily see the 4-color halftone dots commonly used in commercial printing, known as "screening".

Thanks for resizing (if you did) and posting this, satorian. I think that until we see a personalized picture, I'll decline to believe that Drifter-rx7 owns this car.

Surely, if he really did, his username would be Drifter-mr2. Unless he has gotten his hobbies confused.

When will the morons learn that you can't fool all of the people all of the time. I can't believe he sent a pic of a MR-2 though...that is halarious.

Yeah, I resized it. I first thought about applying a noise and moire filter but then didn't. ;)

The funny thing is, Drifter had to send me two emails because he failed to properly attach the pic in the first and I had to request it again.

The first email had an <IMG> tag...

<IMG src="file:///C:/My%20Documents/2003_0101Image/lastscan.jpg">

Could this happen to be from a magazine's January 2003 edition?

Possibly. We'll await further proof.

Up until now, I was giving you the benefit of the doubt about "your" car. But after this statement, it's time for you to prove it:

Take a piece of paper, write "Hello GTPlanet" on it in big fat marker, open your hood, and take a picture with the piece of paper sitting somewhere visible. Then post it here, and we will believe you own the car.
But don't bother. That picture is so clearly scanned out of a magazine that everybody on the Planet knows that you don't own that car and never did. So there's little point in even bothering to try recovering any credibility here. You'll find that a good on-line community is based on trust, and if you screw up the trust part, you might as well disappear and try somewhere else.

Of course, if you can furnish me a picture of that car with a hand-lettered sign in it saying "Bite me, Duke", I'll immediately give you a sincere and full apology for doubting you.

Until then, go away. We don't like liars around here.

I am not one to brand people, but that is just freakin' sad to post from a magazine. I wouldn't even do that, even if i did have the equipment! newbs.

It is sad that people think they need to lie to get respect. He probably figured that he would have more "cred" here if he owned a tricked out riceburner.

Obviously, he didnt do much reading before he began to post here.

I know a few like that. Lying for respect, if you did something nominal, they gotta top it. I told a bud of mine about gettin' the F094/S and sellin' it for $875,000, and he comes back with a comment about a car he sold for a mil. Iknow exactly what you mean.

Don't forget he started by bragging about street-racing...

woah, hold the train, buddy. i may not be a jock or a prep, but i am in no way in hell a geek. :irked:

ok in real life i drive a 91 mustang 5litre for all u noobs thats a v8.
Anyone that has some sort of head on their shoulders should know to keep the racing on the track. My mustang can pull 13.5 on the quarter mile stock, im not much of a import guy, I like good old muscle ( torque wins races, hp sells cars. ) so when we see anyone racing on the street, its all for the rice cars. anyone who drives a real car knows not to race it on the street.

wise words. I think that if you have loads of power but dont show it, it gives you respect. It shows you have power, but you know how to use it. So when that ricer pulls next to you at the light, instead of the lawnmower vroom-vroom, you get a nod. I wish everyone else thought like this. Oh well.:dunce:
