Ok, I just made this thread because this game is coming out in a month so I figured we would need a place to talk about this game. You can down load a vid here.:) There is also screenshot's and news there too!

Game features...
31 championships covering 15 different motor racing styles including V8 Supercars Series, Open Wheel Grand Prix, Super Truck racing, Stockcar Oval Racing, Rally, Rallycross, Ice-Racing, Formula Ford, Classic Racing, Convertible Racing, Street Racing, GT Racing, and Performance Cars.
35 Aspirational Cars, including Ford BA V8 Falcon, Holden VY V8 Commodore, GT, Aston Martin Vanquish, Jaguar XKR, Nissan Skyline and AMG-Mercedes CLK
10 V8 Supercars licensed race tracks including Bathurst, Adelaide, Philip Island, Eastern Creek, Barbagallo, Hidden Valley, Oran Park, Sandown, Surfers Paradise and Pukekohe.
31 Licensed and Fictional global Race Locations offering 48 tracks including Hockenheim from the German DTM series
Up to 21 Cars on track at once, battling for position.
Highly sophisticated physics and handling engine, which combines the instant rewards of an intuitive racer, with the subtlety and nuances commonly associated with a simulation delivers incredibly playable realism.
The most realistic damage engine ever featured in a racing game affects the performance of every car. Windows smash, doors can be ripped open, and wheels torn from their axels. A head on collision can leave the player’s car a complete wreck of twisted metal!
Xbox Live Support for Online Racing and Full online play for PC and System Link mode for Xbox.
The AI will show controlled aggression, making the AI drivers appear very.
A stunning new render engine, will allow for super smooth sixty frame per second graphics, as well as a host of enhanced graphical and video effects such as realistic motion blur and true depth of field.
Interactive storyline drives you through all 31 Championships

I will be getting it as soon as I get the GT force pro wheel, I don't enjoy using keyboards for racing games and I don't want o buy 2 wheels when I dont use the PC for racing games much.

What I don't get about the game is, it's called ToCA race driver in england and america(Maybe other places I don't know about) When ToCA isn't even in the game.

Also, I think the open wheeler's are supposed to be like OWRS car's because they have surfers paradise and laguna seca.

Ice Racing!? now that sounds cool!!!

They better have the Mini again...i could beat WRX's with that! Why bother using the brakes, when it turns so well!?

I dunno what skyline's they will have.

The mini's handeling in the first one ws weird, first it understeered in a corner, then it started over steering.

I have found a demo version of RD2, I'm not sure if it's in english or german sorry RD2 Demo

BTW - Sorry about the triple post.

wish codies would just release the demo already! looks like I will be getting the PC version over the xbox, so I can use the DFP with it ( it WILL support 900deg mode! )

Yes there will be a delayed PS2 version, but like the original RD it will have smaller grids, 12 or 14 cars max instead of the 20+ in the PC and X-Box versions.

Why, it's better than having 20 cars and not being able to race due to ther game running at 10fps, the PS2 just can't handle it, they did the same thing with RD, the other consoles had larger grids because they could handle it.

And a better variety of cars you can use. Eg. On RD for Xbox There was the 2002 FTR (Ford Tickford Racing) car and TBR (Team Brock Racing) cars.

I wish they would implement the A.I from this game in GT4.This game has the best A.I in any racing i have ever seen. The Sound is perfect. The onboard sound of the DTM cars is exactly the same as in real life.I personally can't wait for this game.I currently drive in a German DTM Race Driver League and we will be switching to this game at soon as it is released.

The part I didn't like about the really powerful cars such as. V8 Supercars, DTM etc, is that when you try to get out of a corner all the car ever did was do a great big burnout. The AI however got good exit speed. I love the sound of the V8's on RD though.

If you're getting wheelspin coming out of the corners, then you're applying the throttle two quickly, so the wheels suddenly speed up and loose traction. Apply the throttle gently, and you don't get the wheelspin.

So, what do people think of the game so far? Me, I love it! I'm 88% through career mode and 5% on simulation mode! It's one of the best games I have bought.

I bought Race driver 1 (V8 supercars) and wasnt real impressed. Is this one worth the money?

I might just go hire it and find out.

It is well worth the money I reckon. Way better than the first one. Do you have a wheel?

Ive got a mate's copy of the game and I dont like it.

I do like the idea of the story behind the game and the characters look very life-like indeed, but I didnt enjoy driving the cars.

Another point is that you cant change the button config and have to use the stupid finger throttle which is well annoying.

I played for about 3 races and got very annoyed when the open-wheeled car kept on spinning out with no prior warning whatsoever. I understand the reasons why a car spins etc BUT with GT3 you can "feel" the car and you know exactly when to let off to avoid a spin.

So I dont like it at all.

I kind of like the Formula Ford series. After a while you get used to it and you can push it to the limit and not spin out.The only thing i don't like are the DTM cars,it's likle they are glued to the ground. You can take the corners really fast with those cars.
