I think if RACECAR likes the idea we get 5 points per win, and because Grid's races are set up as mini championships, with 3 races in 1 mini championship, if you win the championship you get an extra 5 bonus points.
Sounds good to me, I especially like the fastest lap idea. Although that wouldn't apply if we were doing drifting though would it? Or would we not do drifting?

I'd like to join, but with only one detail - wheel driving as a standard. I will sustain from participating if the racing will be conducted with controllers by other respecful members.

Then we have a big problem there. I may have to abandon participation since I don't have and can't afford a wheel should we put that into effect. I'm not sure if anyone joining has a wheel(and not sure what difference it'll make since its arcade), but everyone else has a controller, then I'm sorry for you man.

Yeah its a big problem, let's just stick to what we've got and if one person gains an advantage because of using a wheel for example, then so be it. It's not competitive or anything, just a little championship, purely for the enjoyment of racing.

Have to say, I'm in the exact same boat as you. I can't, and don't want to buy a steering wheel for my PS3 at the moment. I don't see the need to do it. Using a steering wheel against controllers won't make much of a difference on Grid anyway.

Grid is a hard game to judge in terms of simulation-arcade. Yeah, ok it's arcade but sometimes you'll feel in a bit of simulation. Like you said, it won't make any difference.

Ok...so the first race has been organised for the 3rd December, if that's ok with you all. I'll have to work out a time because of the time zone differences, so check back for an update, or I can also PM the members.
Yeah, I just need to sort out the times so that everyone will be awake when the race starts...it's definitley not fair if we had a race with half the members not being able to participate.

I beleive you are 6 hours behind the UK RACECAR? And then flat-beat-eric is 2 hours ahead...and if amar wants to participate I'll search up his time zone too.
The time has been decided- 8pm GMT timezone. I'll try to host them early so we have a better chance of people actually turning up. I will PM the members with the name of the server and the password half an hour before the start of a race, so everyone basically gets a headstart so they don't actually have to wait until the time it starts for the PM with all the details. All the races and times and dates for them will are on the first post, with new races being listed on their when the final dates and times have been decided. i think we'll stick with 8pm GMT each race.
I'm not sure yet, we'll just do as many races as possible, and then when everyone's had enough, we can give a break and perhaps start a new season.
I'm thinking of May 2009 for the end of this season. Any thoughts? But that would mean not having races every 3 days, we'd probably have them every week. If you want races every 3 days we'll have to make the end of the season late January.
Yeah sure, you can obviously still participate, if everyone wants to go for the race per week option to end in May, but I'm not sure how many people would rather go for the race per 3 days option to end in late January.
