Wow, been quite a while since the last update.

There might be a chance of having our first race in January.

I'd get involved in this but I don't understand how to drive the cars on Grid to go as fast as some people do, does stability control make a huge difference? I just can't steer my car as much as other people even on full lock.

I know, Grid is challenging, I sometimes find myself in the exact same car as someone else, doing the exact same laptime and for some reason they seem to be going faster than me.

Doing the same laptime and they're going faster???

I'm sorry that makes no sense. I've found it is generally the driving aids making everyone so fast, disapointing that they make it so much easier.

I mean online that always happens. It's quite obvious they are cheats though, because the cars jump around, then when you try to overtake they jump in frontof you.

Has everyone left? Any ideas for first race?

I'm still here, but it could be a while before my copy of Grid comes.

Both waiting for a copy of Grid? Ok.

I've had my new PS3 back for a while now, I'll try to add everyone. My name is GTP_Pepsicoke.

And by the way, Happy New Year to you all. Hopefully we can get the series started before next year...haha.

No, I've got a copy of Grid. I'm just waiting for the first event :)

Ok then first race has been planned: Saturday 17th January 2009, 8PM GMT.

Please post Yes if you can make that time. 3 or more Yesses willl result in the race going ahead. I will PM everybody with the password of the race half an hour before it starts.

You can see the instructions on how to get into the race in the first post, along with the race times above it and also the type of race it will be.

I found out the Grid Demo I have actually has online so I could do this before the full game arrives. Just not sure if online is compatible with the full game though.

My copy will be coming sometime this month so I will able to race, though the exact day it comes won't guarantee I'll be in the first round.

The first race is today! I hope quite a few people can take part. I'll PM everybody the server name and password a few hours before the race starts. The only thing in the PM will be the server name and password, so for everything else you need to look on the first post!

The only thing putting me off is that I don't really enjoy the racing and I'm not gonna waste your time by entering just the 1 drift event, however you should get some team drifting on the go when you're done! See if we can get everyone to snake through the freestyle area in a big sideways line with someone up front choosing the path at random as they go. I did it with just me and a friend and it was pretty cool. Collisions on of course to make it more challenging but no damage so if things go wrong it's ok.

If you do that, give me a quick message on PSN when you're finished the main event and I'll get on to join in.

Cool, that sounds great! Will do that after the main event is finished, if I have time.

Well normal drifting in the HKS Freestyle normally turns into a one long line of people drifting the one section you can get huge points from then going for multipliers as fast as possible (i got over 1,000,000,000 doing this in a 10 minute solo run offline!) which isn't what drifting is about which is why i prefer to team drift.

Yeah I might have one, but my main focus is getting everybody to say whether they're coming or not to the actual event, so I know who to PM.

Too late or too early?

It's really a matter of weekend nights my parents like to watch TV, which I think is reasonable, so weekend nights are for me out of the question. Week days are possibilities apart from Mondays and Thursdays. I hope I can make it to the next race though.

Right, nobody has posted whether they're coming or not.

If you don't check this thread often then I'm kicking you out of the champiosnhip, sorry.

Was a little unclear matey, I just bought the game today and haven't played this for quite a few months so it will take me a week to get the hang of it, count me in for future races but if I enter today I'll be a rolling road block and take out most people on the track LOL
