Anyone have any good settings for the DFP, I can't get mine to play well at all with GRID so I've been using the pad. I will buy this, it would have benefitted form more realistic physics a hell of a lot imo though.
Set the degrees to 900, and a saturation of 50 or 55%, and the steering linereality to 0. Then set the three options of force feedback between 20 and 30%.

With this you get turn and sensations similar to GT5 P.

Nice vid speedster, looked nice and smooth all I could critisise/ advise is you carry too much speed into turns sometimes, apart from that looks good, I'm about as consistant as rangers (ooooo topical) and some times I just can't hook a lap together then at other times I'll pull 13 combos and around 1.5 mil per lap, Just waiting to see some of the other JPN courses and race modes as it's got me interestead, Anyone know what other cars there will be? IGN posted up info about a supra?

If anyone is interested. Personal G25 settings.

Force Feedback
  • force strenght: 10%
  • force weight: 50%
  • effects strenght: 50%
Wheel settings
  • steering saturation: 30% - 40% (depends on the track)
  • steering linearity: -10
  • acceleration pedal saturation: 100%
  • brake pedal saturation: 100%
  • 900 degrees: ON
All the deadzones are at 0%

Yeah I often do, but sometimes speed can be the key to a decent chain afterwards. Also, if I do carry too much speed into a corner often I spin out anyway (see last lap). Anyway, I'm slowly getting better, that was a 1.9 million score at the end but I popped on Grid shortly after I posted here and managed to score 2.9 million. So I'm getting better. :D

The music pick was nice :) Maybe if i get decent at it i will throw up a vid with some DIO just to battle with music and drifting....lol.

Thanks, I thought the music suited it quite well. I had the probelm of finding it though as originally I thought drifting could only suit dance and rave music which lets just say I'm not keen on. So it took awhile to get it right.

Nice vid Speester! I just love how well GRiD captures the essence of drifting (and driving) in game and in the replay. They've got a real winner here! 👍

I will buy this title if:

· clutch is enabled
· password for private online races is enabled
· IA drivers to complete the starting grids in the online races is enabled

Well if you go through all of the videos i have made you will find that there isn't any dance or rave music in any of them:tup: my ears just aren't happy with that. I do have a Depeche mode song on one, but thats as close as it gets, the rest is either metal or rock (mainly coheed and cambria). It all worked well to me in mine, as well as yours. I hate watching a video and the person has put Initial D music all over it, how many times do i have to hear this? I don't, i mute it:sly:

I even did a Beatles song on Drifting-Down (big fan, have every album). Now if a Beatles song can be worked in to a drifting video decently there is no reason to spam the electronica :)

You seriously tried to compare the NFS vinyl editor to Forza 2 vinyl editor. Now thats funny. If you dont know why its funny then enjoy us laughing at your expense.:lol:

its not a NFS vinyl editor. what does that have to do with a nascar game? its something called photoshop. you know, that program adobe made?

downloading skins, editing it in photoshop and uploading it straight to the game is miles better than forza2 or any console game on the market. im shocked that EA of all company's were the first one's to do this for a console racer

FM1 moders and PC gamers do the exact same thing

Hey speedster, just curious on how you set everything when on the drifting? Ive messed around with different things with always having to put the traction control back on. I have never had to use traction control on a game so it kind of makes me feel like a turd on there having to use it. Does it just take a good bit to get use to the way the car acts with traction control off? Hopefully on the full version you will be able to do a good bit of tunning as far as suspension and everything else goes. That would help out allot in the traction and stability department.

Also nissan tuner, is that editor for a pc that you transfer to a console? If so i didn't even know a game had that option that was out. If its for only pc then its not that big of a deal to me because you can always edit skins on pc games. But i believe what CB69 was trying to say was that the Forza 2 editor was really nice because it is the best in game (console) editor to date.

Basically you download a template onto the computer, paint the template and load it onto a storage device, hook it up to the PS3/360, and load the image onto there, so not really in game, but I'm expecting EA to have somewhat of a in-game editor aswell, with graphics you can move around, although if they use one like the one in NFS, it'll suck because it is so slow.

But I agree, F2 (even though I've never played it) has the best livery editor in a console game.

Yeah nice music track....Unfortunatly I'm in a bjork phase still after seeing her live, so any vids I did would be turned off by the general public LOL

IGN have a piece up about the multiplayer aspect. Lots of info in it but most important bit is there ARE PRIVATE ROOMS.....enough said! I'm happy!

yes. EA only makes nascar games for consoles currently

Basically you download a template onto the computer, paint the template and load it onto a storage device, hook it up to the PS3/360, and load the image onto there, so not really in game

its still monumental in the editing department of console racers. EA raised the bar IMO

Well I must agree, if you turn off most the aids especially TC it makes the completely out of control. I think if you tried for ages you might be able to conquer it but it would take forever. I did the video with TC on so don't feel that your a turd  I might give it a couple of goes with TC off though and see what happens. 👍

I've allways had TC off.......might try it with it on just to see if it helps with consistancy, I would have thought TC on drift cars would defeat the object LOL

Thats what I always thought. But it seems to work.

Exactly. But after a few races i noticed there was even an option to change settings so when i looked i seen that it had TC on:boggled: I was thinking ok, turn this off now i can really hold a drift. Got out there and wham, spin out....spin out...spin out...ahhh wth!? So i turned it back off because i couldn't keep consistent with it off because i would spin on some turns. There's not much of a sign telling you that your fixing to spin out though. The tires don't start to yell at you, you can't just get the feeling like you do in good sim games, so you are pretty much having to fortune tell after you push it past a certain point:grumpy: Also the highest i have scored is 1.6mil:ouch: And i do believe the highest link was only like 9. I'm ready for the game to come out to see what other cars and tunning is like, if these things are decent im sure my drifting will jump in skill fast:tup: The Silvia's always seem to handle like mustangs in games, so im ready for a new car:dopey:

I'll be happy if they include robin reliants in the drift line up.........for those of a non anglo saxon background.......let me introduce you to the birmingham drift machine!

Hahaha, i don't know anything about the birmingham drift machine but i do know everything about the general lee drift machine....i mean, i am from alabama :)

Just to let you know for all you that have the M$ "wireless" wheel it works on the demo. I'm likin it and the force feedback is great too. I think they really supported it well and will only get better once the full game arrives. Speaking of which, I don't know if I can wait for it. :banghead:

I can :) I probably (99% sure) not going to get it. Unless I get interested in all the cars and tracks available.

I'll say no more....except......I have been in one and yes it did go on 2 wheels round a perfectly ordinary corner at 20 mph LOL

Never seen a Reliant Robin before? They are awful cars but they have a cult following, it's great to see them racing though, you will never see more barrel rolls in one race any other way.

Not many Reliant's here in the states mate, much less here in Alabama. Anyone see the episode of Top Gear where they drove through a part of Alabama with the cars that had misc. things written on them that would piss off a redneck? Not all of Alabama is like that, especially the city im in isn't. Now if you go deeper into Alabama im sure you will find some backwoods type hillbillies, like the ones they found:) But the same goes for West Virginia and Tennessee and so many others.

Here are a bunch of shots I took in the demo:
