Well I got the Mugen Civic like everyone, and with the race hard tyres the car drives like it has sport hards or so.... Before the update the car drove fine.. But now it's a sliding monster first class.

Anyone else noticed something like this?

Are you sure you're actually still wearing them? The update seems to have changed things to default to the worst tyres you have for the car. I had a WTF moment with my FGT until I realised it had given me comfort tyres without me asking for them.

Yep, since I had Comfort softs on them at first which were for a B-spec race. After that I placed race hard on car again for my own race, but they just feel crap..

!!! Did they allow the ability to change tires from that screen? I've never had those checkboxes on tires before.

Are you using FFB steering wheel (instead of a DS3 controller)? What I'm finding with the 1.0 patch is that:

"- The [Feedback Strength] of the Thrustmaster T500RS can now be adjusted across a wider range."

What this means is that anyone using DFGT or G25/G27, the strength of the FFB has been reduced significantly. I find harder to feel the car- both the weight shift and grip even with the FFB set to 10. Since I can't afford a T500RS (I'm using a G25), I've decided to revert back to patch 1.05.

I think that's where the problem lies. I even went as far as going back to deleting the latest patch. And the FFB is indeed stronger.

Had I known this I would've kept the 1.05 patch mainly because if the HUD-less option. Since I don't race online or use GT5 other then driving my car around the track, I want the best FFB feel and the 1.06 patch ruined it for me big time.

If this is true, adjusting the force feedback for one wheel by blanketing the force feedback for every wheel is pretty poor implementation. Why couldn't they have just made the FFB adjustments specific to that Thrustmaster. Surely the PS3 knows what wheel is connected and loads setting accordingly - why not different FFB strengths.

I haven't noticed it on my DFGT though...

Hmm... How did you accomplish that? As far as I know, there is no way to revert a patch.

I though I could but discovered that it's only possible on a jailbroken/hacked PS3.

I'm hoping that it's all in my head- the reduction in the FFB feel- but what I've tried so far that is by removing the 1.06 and trying the same car on the same track (also has to be said that I've been driving almost daily since I got the game around xmas), the feeling of tire grip and shifting weight have been significantly altered. To me, it feels worst. And yes, it would've made more sense that if PD's intention was to change the feel of the FFB on the T500RS, that the implementation was done without affecting other wheels.
