Doing 1.33.8s as stabile times on rm.
 
Watching replays from Silverstone, corner-cutting will not be tolerated at Nürburgring GP/D.


The following drivers are being looked at for exceeding track limits:


-nascarfan1400 (Race 3) - defensively exceeds track limits in closing laps of Race 3
-boy-wonder_2000 (Race 2) - continual occurrence of exceeding track limits in closing laps
-LancerEvo7 (Race 2) - one occurrence of exceeding track limits noted
-cnd01 (Race 2, Race 3) - minor occurrence of exceeding track limits, pushes MrMelancholy15 wide in Race 3
-dano20 (Race 2) - regains control off of course
-MrMelancholy15 (Race 3) - physically pushed wide

Penalties for:

-nascarfan1400 (Race 3) (6 seconds = 6 times exceeding track limits)
-boy-wonder_2000 (Race 2) (3 seconds = 3 times exceeding track limits)


For those in the first list, consider yourselves lucky, and then feel relieved that there won't be further repercussions because minor slip-ups happen. Those of you in the second list, keep an eye out at Nürburgring GP/D.


nascarfan1400's penalty is a time-based drop from 6th to 8th place points in Race 3. (6 seconds)
boy-wonder_2000's penalty is a time-based drop from 4th to 9th place points in Race 2. (3 seconds)

Both are using the formula of 1 second per occurrence, adding to a cumulative total.

Turns 1, 2, and 4 will allow the usage of the run-off, excluding to create an overtake, or an opportunity to overtake.

T4 is okay all four wheels off, but there is shared responsibility for all drivers to leave enough room for each other. In season 1, a driver decided not to give Sakery any room before the track narrowed, leading to a three car crash. You will receive a penalty if you do not share the course in between T4 and T5. Even if the guy on your outside is off track, you must leave space. If you're off track, you must ensure that you reenter safely without contact. If anyone is spun because someone was hogging the course width, penalty. Simple.

T4 rule is active in Turns 1, 2, and 4, unless the normal line is blocked or to avoid contact... And, no, avoiding contact is not grounds for an overtake. Safe re-entry behind the car you avoided is your responsibility.

This is a guideline as to how it must be used. Any overtake is unacceptable, except in the case of a driver losing control, or otherwise slows. If a driver loses control or otherwise slows, and the track limits is the clear way past, you may use it. Passing a driver who is at racing speeds by using the run-off will result in a penalty of 5 seconds per overtake.

5 seconds, for comparison, is typically the difference between 4th place and 9th place in ITCC. :) I disagree.

Doing that will cost those affected more than 5 seconds in the course of a race. I digress

The idea isn't to help the drivers who are overtaken illegally, but dissuade others from illegal overtakes to avoid the problem to begin with.

It shouldn't be nearly as big of an issue at Nurb other than T2 and T3. That's pretty clean cut though.

Honestly, I am impressed with the standard considering the volume increase. When I started racing again middle of last season, there were 7 cars pretty much in a free-for-all. Now there's a clear stewarding policy with more cars and better racing all around

Every season's driving standards have progressively improved, by using positive reinforcement techniques to teach beginner drivers the value of clean racing.


With that said, as I've explained privately to the ToS, there is a small margin allowed for the "fun" bumping - the bumping which occurs when you really want to win, but not by spinning another driver. If you give someone a small tap, I don't really think people will mind. If you shunt someone across the entire track, spin them, or cause them to leave the circuit, though... There will be penalties.


So, I'll ask for something simple: either don't bump at all, or small bumps. Don't overtake from beyond track limits, and don't dive into a corner where you had no rights. We'll try to make this a clean, fun weekend for everyone without much bumping. Given the tight first four corners, I understand things will be chaotic on the opening lap.



Opening lap ideas: if you're on the inside of Turn 1, you're on the outside of Turn 2. Cutting across the track might not work very well, and may result in a crash. Leave some room, and stay on the side of the track you choose to be on. Brake a little early, and everyone will survive the first corner. If you can survive the first few corners without making a mistake and dropping positions, you can easily stay on-pace and start gaining positions once things settle down.
 
Johnboy would be turning in his cockpit if he heard you saying 'that it is is perfectly acceptable to run wide in T4'. I ran in another series before and i got a 10 second penalty for continuously running wide at that corner ( i was a pup back then). Running wide in T4 gives you a speed advantage over those staying within the track limits on the following straight, so a big thumbs down on that rulling mel.
