Thank you, Lancer, for enabling them to make their cars into ugly, out-of-place ducklings.

Actually, why don't you imagine what WTCC would've looked like, if there hadn't been one wing - anywhere - on the cars...?

I was just reading Grassroots Motorsports Magazine, Feb. 2014 issue... They talk about how everything has to be a spectacle in racing - how we're supposed to put on a good show... So long as @gtpcaine takes pity on us, :lol: we normally do.

Edit: mandontaory? @nascarfan1400, u wot?

I feel like there should be an example... Like, a 30 second penalty being possible... For not running with a rear wing and skidding about wildly because of a certain lack of rear downforce.
If you're skidding around wildly in these cars it's because you're a bad driver, not because of not having a wing.

I'd rather be ugly and fast. ;)

Actually, they have small wings, and considering they're actually purpose-built race cars, the wings probably help their handling.

Adding a wing to a front wheel drive car makes exactly zero sense on GT6. All it does is increase understeer.

I'll have to disagree. The alfa where extremly prone to throwing is rear out at even the slightest liftoff in the faster corners. Mind you, you could argue that I'm a bad driver for having to adjust mid-corner, but hey, **** happens in racing. I currently run between 3 and 7 on most tracks, and its alot better than it was with none. I do not know if it makes my laps faster, I'm not consistent enough for that yet, but it sure makes the car feel more planted at high speeds.

Having any wing on a car gives it an aerodynamic advantage over the same model without a wing in a drag race. Yes RWD's gain more, but it does still improve FWD's. Any understeer they cause can be sorted with suspension tuning.

Check the 'computerised' drag race at about 7:25

@gtpcaine, although I do agree that wings make the car faster...... I'm pretty sure wings do actually slow cars down in a straight line. Otherwise, transport lorries would be running around with Toyota 7s on the roof.

@LancerEvo7, you can run a more aggressive setup with the rear wings in ITCC, it helps them to rotate better.

@GTracer98 yes.

@GTracer98 yes.

Rear wings also tighten the rear of the car, which increases understeer and also no wings equal less drag.

If my lap time is faster without a wing, that's what I'd rather have. Downforce, Shmounforce XD

Doesn't matter if it's faster, dems the rules.

I'm sure if nascar drivers could do away with a spoiler at Daytona, they'd to it. But they can't. Same applies here.

Thank you. I agree with everything inside of me. Anyways, is there a way of putting it on but completely disabling the aero?

Meh, whatever. It won't slow me down that much especially a slow circuit like monaco. And it's still aero so you can't disable it. Elaborated. Your words are invalid.

Guys, guys, shhhuush, @nascarfan1400 has as much of a valid point as @LancerEvo7...

No, you can't entirely disable the aero effect (Lancer is correct) but yes you can completely disable the supposed disadvantage. Even the BMWs - or rather, especially, stupid oversteering little so-and-sos - need the rear wing. If everyone has it, everyone has the same advantage or disadvantage.

Plus, they look cool and are another setup consideration for those who are having difficulties nailing down the perfect tune.

GT6 wings are stupidly over the top imo. They only needed to be 2/3rds size they are.

:lol: exactly. If the FRs need to run with that aerodynamic drag, they all do. If the FRs get the extra rear-end grip, they all do.

Sure, it's not helpful at Silverstone, but I'd rather have the wings 2x over at Trial Mountain... Turn 3. Turn flipping 3.

You can put me in the OP.
