"Race saves" (1.10 patch) Biggest disapointment in my life.

Hi dudes, i think i as many other people really were looking forward for the race saves so you could start doing the 24 hour races.. But that is not how PD wished things to be. What is the meaning of making championship saves as there aint any championship that is so long that you need to turn off your ps3? I'd rather have it for le mans and so.

Imo its useless but i want to hear your opinion. :)
 
The FGT series is a little long...but nothing compared to a 9-24hr enduro. I'd love to grab those tropheys but I have more fun doing other stuff in the game and I'll patiently wait for the patch which includes race saves before I attempt anything over 2 hours.
 
Yea thats right. The FGT is a little long. specially in b spec. But come on PD... Why?? :D
 
Greisen, there was no promise of race saves - in fact KY said it WOULDN'T be in this patch. If you were expecting something that you were told wasn't coming then you can't blame PD.

Why not start one hate thread and keep your stuff in there rather than starting a thread for each point? Still, it gives me the opportunity to share Shepzki's artwork with you :D

I thought it was for championships with multiple races and that u can save in between like in gt4...?

Yup, that's how it works. KY has tweeted that mid-race saves (which are obviously different from mid-championship saves) won't be in this patch but may be introduced later.

If lack of mid-race saves is the biggest disappointment in the OP's life so far then he's a very lucky guy ;)

Yes, you are totally right. Im a 17 year old student. Normally im playing badminton 6 times a week but as its the end of the season im not playing that much anymore. So yes, im having waaaaaaaaay too much sparetime :D

I can't use it for Le Mans????? Now I'm pissed off!!! Is PD totally clueless????? Championships were a problem for no one! Why wouldn't they look at the fact they have 24 Hour races and people have reported it frying there play station. This is straight up gay! I can't even see how that would make sense in any world!!!!!
 
Didn't PD say it will be quite difficult to implement mid race saving?
 
PD is under a huge illusion if they expect people to be satisfied with the huge easier to complete championship saves as opposed to the 24 hour enduros that are not only the coolest races, but are needed to complete at the end of the game. And that is putting aside the numerous reports that running the game for those needed 24 hours, or more if you can't food, bathroom, work, or school breaks, fried their play station.

You, sir, would be incorrect. Look at the feedback section on the website, it was said to be confermed.
 
Well there have been many instances in which I wished I didn't have to wait until I have an hour or so to race without stopping for the championships, especially for B-spec.
 
Biggest disappointment of your life? Your either very young or very melodramatic :rolleyes:

Yeah I agree, but would you rather have to find an hour or so or 24 hours twice? There seems, to me, to be one chance at least each week to run a championship. Times for me to have 24 hours..... Zero. Finding more then 2 hours is hardest, then in way of 4, then even more, then up it keeps going.

Except its not...sports games have been doing it for years...

Maybe if Kaz picked up the phone and called Sony San Diego they could teach him how to do it since they do it for MLB: The Show...

Kaz could also benefit from calling up some of the other first party studios as well...they might teach him some more tricks for PS3 development...
 
I was thinking about this while falling asleep last night. A lot of people on here have said they did one lap of an endurance race and couldn't find a save option.

Well maybe the mid-race save option only becomes accessible after a certain percentage of the race is complete?

It might sound odd to have a feature become available at some point in a race... but then again, doing a 24-hour race one lap at a time also sounds pretty odd... so maybe they expect you to put in x hours before they'll let you save and come back?

But anyway, if it's not in the official list of update tweaks, I guess it's not in the update.
 
wait i thought Endurance race saves were coming and confirmed by Kaz 3-4 months back?

now it's just a possibility?

I'm happy that the enduros aren't made easy, yet.
Nobody forces you to do enduros, you don't have_ to do them.

True, I'm actually really looking forward to getting to A-Spec 40 and finding a free weekend so I can do 24 hours of Nurburgring in one sitting.

But... you know... for those that want it...

I have over 800 wins and I'm at 38/33. I'm just taking it easy, not rushing. I don't play for leveling up - I just play for myself. If I feel like driving - I just drive, if I feel like tuning - I just tune, if I feel like taking pictures - I take pictures and so on.
Don't let GT5 become a chore, remember - GT5 is what you want it to be.
 
I love the new update, I would have preferred it to have included Endurance Race saves as well as the championship race saves, but I won't lose sleep over it..

That depends on how much free time you're accustomed to. Not all of us live with our parents. Some of us with jobs, responsibilities around our own homes, wives, and maybe kids don't often have several-hour blocks to devote to a three-hour Formula GT championship. Some folks are doing good to find an hour to sit there in front of a game. Sure, the earlier championships aren't so long, but some of the later ones can be long to someone who has a lot going on in their lives.

Not all of us are this kid:

I was also looking farward for the game saves, especially the enduros, coz they promise so. Actually, I don't what them, coz they'll make the game easy, but it's not ment to be easy.

If we have an enduro save option, then what's the point of being 24hours? The championship option for save.... is a little bit pointless for me, but may help one, sometime. I also don't think it changes the game play so much.

I like to race championship races with cars that are near the capabilities of other cars in the race. With the new AI, it's damn hard to win one of these races that way. Thus, I'm kinda tired when I finish one of the races. That's GT at its best, for me. I can really use the same sort of break a real racer would get between races. I think it's a great addition.

Endurance saves were far lower on my list of priorities. It's an option for people who actually didn't want to do the endurance race, apparently, but did want to complete all the events. Good for those guys if they get that option later on, but I see no reason to complete every event, if there are some I really don't want to do.
