Top job on posting the polls, Duke! 👍
I have a question... Is it possible to make the results non-viewable until the close of the polls or after you've voted (take away the "view results" link)?
In the current format, people could view how the polls are going before voting and submit their votes based on which races have a reasonable chance of being selected. Whoever votes last has an advantage, as far as the weight of their votes.

Eggmann, I would love to be able to do that, but it's not possible on a poll-by-poll basis. It can only be done globally, and I know that Jordan prefers (for most polls) to be the way they are currently.

I will talk to Jordan, but until then, I suggest that teams hold off voting until as late as possible if they are worried about this.
 
or...we should initially leave the voting process only in this sub-forum...after all, it's us managers who vote...we can copy/paste the races on our own boards to discuss them...
in this way, we can only vote in here, there's no other user who can see them for us before voting, no?

I'd really rather not compile 120+ votes by hand - it took me two days or more to edit all the submittals into similar format so they were legible. I can close the polls for now if you wish, and reopen them in 2 weeks for a few days of voting.

Or, you can just not look; but that's up to you. If you want them closed I'll close them for now.
 
Yeah, I guess that would be a lot of work. I don't think this really is a problem, people will vote for whoever they want. Like you said, just don't look :D
 
Excelent Job you done there Dukus 👍 I bet you've been stuck at the keyboard for the last two days sick of the sight of combo's :)

Can't really add anything to the vote sandbagging issue, but I reckon the sollution above sounds OK. Close the polls / spread the word to the managers / and go with a voting window.. I.e submit your votes on a specific two days.

The voting deadline is nearing. When will the polls officially open/close?
 
Wouldn't mind knowing what the voting window is too Duke.

I remember you posting that you'd like them in by the 25th to give you some time to sort them out (which is fair enough :) ) Is that still the target? if so, its pretty close now (23rd as I type.)

atm our team has got most decided, just spliting a couple of close ones in 4.2 and 4.10 should be done by the 25th or 26th
 
OK! I'll open the polls on Wednesday, 24 August and keep them open until Friday evening, 26 August. That will give us the weekend to make any final adjustments to the selected races, and decide if there are any that really need to be run for later deadlines and which could be run to earlier deadlines.

Barring that, we'll just have the deadlines in the order currently issued.
 
Like it says in all the threads, polls are open! I anticipate leaving them open for about 48 hours, but that can be discussed.
 
I'm realy busy until the end of the week end, I have a big event to run, so i don't think i will have time to cumulate the vote of the team.

If possible, i will have some time on beggining of the next week.

Tony, it appears that Torc Talk neglected to vote in Race 1.4.5: Dirt or Snow course / Rally Car / Dirt or Snow Tires.
 
Maybe they picked a Wild Card race instead?

P.S. I'll have Team Numbers' votes cast in just over 8 hours.
 
Yes we did. I hope I haven't missinterpreted the rules which said...

Teams will vote for their 10 favorite Proposals. The Wild Card Proposals (see 1.4.18 below) will be grouped in an 11th category. Any Team voting for a Wild Card Proposal may not vote for one race from one other category. If the Wild Card selection receives more votes than the least popular single Scenario, the Wild Card race will be substituted for that Round.

The way I read it was you could drop one category in favour of a wildcard.. We don't have any good dirt drivers on our team so we gave it a miss.. we have subbmited 10 other votes though.. anyhow lemme know if I've got it wrong
 
How do we know if the wildcard will be used or not?

That's precisely what they did; I'm an idiot. Tony, you interpreted the rule correctly - my intent was to allow 10 votes and I noticed but didn't absorb that you had voted for the Wild Card.

My mistake.

I see the wild card now has 9 votes and the dirt and wet race each have 7.I'm assuming that this will be the method for determining which race is out (fewest overall votes).

If so whats the tie-breaker?
 
I thought it was the highest individual vote.
i.e. If the top race in a normal category has 2 votes, and the top Wild Card race has 3 votes, then the Wild Card replaces the other race.

The voting in race 4-10 needs some checking into.

As it stands now the top wet race only has 2 votes to the WC having 3 so i guess the wet is out.Whats the tie-breaker for each race,another vote on the ties?
