I haven't driven in GT5 for a week now, and when I first drove yesterday, I decided to do an FGT race around Suzuka.
I span three times in the first lap :nervous:
I then tried a Super GT race, when I got in the lead, I kept losing it :nervous:
Needless to say that my racing skill has decreased massively.
What races should I do to challenge myself (in the hope that I will improve)?
Please post car and race combinations.
Thanks :)

I just get a car with bad tyres, and drive a hard track, such as Nurburgring. I tried with my F40.

Also, ever stop to think you make too many threads? :)

Car: Chevrolet Camaro '10
Race: Sunday cup
Why? Easy, but if you spin the AI will take advantage

Race: Dreamcar championship at Monza
Car: Any LMP/Group C or LM Race car
Why?: If it rains, and there is a Jag XJR9, you have a serious challenge on your hands.

I made this thread to help, or would you rather me make a whiny thread?
I post a genuine thread and get attacked for it.
If you don't want to help, you don't need to attack me.

Isn't the Camaro a bit too fast for that event :)

I was thinking of that, but in the rain the AI aren't particularly fast.

Just a friendly question, nothing to do with an attack, or anything like that. :)

Back on topic, try same car racing, I noticed it boosted my skill when trying it in practice mode, or arcade mode, since you can change the difficulty there.

Oh, sorry :), I'm just a bit afraid with all these threads being locked up :nervous:
I usually like to use an underpowered car, but in Arcade mode everyone has the same car.

Start slow but make sure you keep on going to faster and faster cars. Don't automatically try the grippiest tires on any car. After driving with sport softs i often notice that i lose some of the car controlling finesse in addition for the cars becoming too mundane to drive.

Race online against people that have the same level as you, with similar car as yours, you wont find anything more challenging offline.

Guess you can't do it like that tho.

Grand Tour in special event is a nice and hard challenge to do, have to use a lot of throttle control etc..

Not a race as such but.. you could go through S license (again).

Try to do some lower level race.
Like low power car.

Nissan GTR or Skyline or whatever car that have the same power as them.
I highly recommend the High Speed Ring track or Deep Forest. Since they have low speed and high speed corner and straight.
Take it step by step.👍
Don't rush. :)

Try driving the Caterham Fireblade on Sports Soft tyres. You have to be ultra smooth to avoid spinning all the time. Very satisfying when you put a good lap in though.

Guys, you make it sound like I was a bad driver before I went bad.
I'm not that bad guys!
I use to be able to win FGT races easy peasy, now I can't after one week of not driving anymore.
I used a stock FGT.
I'm gonna try some expert races in underpowered cars :)

Funny, but I was going to suggest the same thing, only at La Sarthe!

I just used the R92CP this morning to freshen up a bit. All aids off except ABS=1, Racing Softs (yeah, I use racing tires to race; sue me). Spun a few times, the XJR would be all over me down the straights, but still managed to hold him off. No rain, but still a fun race.
