Alright here are the current series ideas:

1. Trans-Am Series (AKA American Muscle Car Championship (AMCC)
2. BTCC
3. NASCAR series
3. Ferrari Challenge Series (with the 458 Italia)
4. Viper Festival of Speed (With the ACR)
5. World Rally Championship
6. Truck Series
7. FIA GT1, 2, 3 and 4 series. GT1 is being handled already.
8. Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Season 2
9. Open Series - Opened when PP system is implemented.

Which series are you interested in?

I want to add a pole to this, but I can't.

Well I guess the next GTPLMS will be run on GT5 although I dont know if i'll have a PS3 by then! I've just handed the SuperGT over to RACECAR who will run it from now on. This is something i'd planned to do for a while now as I just dont have the time (or energy) to run 2 major events. I'm sure he'll be on here sometime soon to let everyone know about his plans.

I'm tempted to run a one off short race or hotlap competition using a heavily tuned Lotus Motorsport Elise in GT mode, idealy with sports tyres. This will be totally different to any other series i've ran and will probably gift Austin343 (if he enters) an easy competition to win whilst giving the rest of us a chance to improve our car handling skills.
 
Well its been a while, but I'm gonna back at the reigns with Super GT as ABud mentioned. At the moment, I have a 11 race schedule that has 8 Points paying races and 3 Non-points paying races. I'd like to see the rest of the track list for GT5 before I put up a finalised official schedule for it. Meanwhile, here is the other series I will soon have up here:

GTPWRC (GTPlanet World Rally Championship)

GTPNWS (GTPlanet NASCAR World Series)

Going to get an interest thread up for both this month and then a signup thread in September two months prior to the release of GT5.
 
I'd love to do the NWS. I think it'd be fun to run the NASCARS on the road courses. Maybe put a race at Le Sartbe or The Ring. I did a WRC before and it was pretty fun. And with at least 1 Point to Point course, it could be fun in GT5.
 
It's possible the Miata and other rear-drives could be added back to ST class, assuming GT5 doesn't have the ridiculously disproportionate tire-wear that GT4 does. We'll see...

Well, what I would want would be to use the current cars in the series...which are pretty much all FF cars: Mini, Cobalt, Civic, Mazda 3, Golf, Jetta, Forte, etc...the miata and the other FR cars in the series are going to be gone next year. It actually looks like GS will be FR and AWD and ST will be mostly FF cars.

I do not know. But it is. Although, it might have to do with VW and Mini kickin' butt last year and they were both FF cars.(VW won the championship, I believe.) But all the top runners last year were all FF in ST. Always saw a Cobalt, Mini, VW or Civic up there. Occassionally the FRs would join it. But, I think, because most of the other cars were FF, anyway, the FR cars got massive HP and weight penalties. So, to counter act that, a lot of the FR teams are switching to FF. In fact the last FR car in the pack is the Miata and it's going to be completely gone next year.

P.S. If the Forte is in GT5, then it'll replace the 2010 Audi. If not, then it'll be the Jetta if it's in. If that's not in then the Audi stays.

Maybe, but with ST being entirely FF and GS being AWD and FR, then it could be that they're trying to slow down ST. But I still think that since it was mainly FF already, the FR cars that were there and even the AWD cars were heavily penalized. And to get around it, they just switched to FF cars. (Although, the Subaru Legacy and two Audi TT's including the 2010 one are listed in the entries.)

I believe they do a staggered start in Gand-Am/Contenental Tire Challenge with GS taking the green flag first followed by the ST class about 45 seconds to a minute later.
 
Been thinking about it, and I know you can add weight in Career mode and, if you could do more than 2 laps, I might try the second season in GT Mode. Maybe for GT5.
 
Turns out my break from GT4 was shorter than I thought :dopey: I've just launched The Tour of GT4 which is sort of a car version of Le Tour de France. Take a look at it, would be great if it gets off the ground 👍

Since the V8 Supercars Series finished I have been thinking of starting a Touring Car Championship similar to the BTCC and WTCC. If there is enough interest I will run it.
There will be two classes, Super Touring (BTCC and WTCC style cars) and Touring Cup (small racing cars such as the Lupo cup cars). Here is the current car list for both classes:

Mazda 6 Touring Car
Toyota Altezza Touring Car

Been thinking about doing a CTC Open series sometime. Don't know if it'll be a GT4 or 5 version, but it'd be like 5-7 rounds and the rules would basically be this:

GS cars not to exceed 400hp. Cars can be V8, V6 and I4.

ST cars not to exceed 300hp. Cars can be I4 and V6.

Basically, you'd take those perimeters and pick a car you want and I'd do the testing and get it all the cars even. I think it might make things interesting, but it's just an idea.

Interest thread for Super GT Season 8 going up this week. It'll for sure be the last season on GT4 and thankfully for the competitors, the rules will remain the same as they have from Season 7. Also, anyone willing to volunteer to do some testing for Season 9 come late November?

If a series is left half finished despite a good number of competitors each week, it doesn't inspire the same drivers to sign up to another contest that may or may not get finished by the same organiser.

The only reason I left was because my life got a little busy and I didn't have time to really participate. And I don't really have the time currently either, as I REALLY need to find some permanent work.

However, I do eventually plan to get settled into things and then I'd be willing to give a full season a shot. although, it'll be a shorter season...like 7 Rounds instead of 10.

On that note, I'm thinking for the CTC's GT5 Season, following the Grand-Am's official rules. That would mean, in terms of vehicle tuning, the only changes allowed would be ECU on certain cars, tires, roll-cage, and Racing Modification. There should be the option to add or subtract weight, as well, so that will be used for weight penalties. I'll probably do a certain PP level per class or something.
 
Well...Most of the cars I wanted for the next CTC series are in. I will probably take votes for the final three spots for ST. Although, I might include an Audi TT and a RX-8 in there. We'll see.

EDIT: For the GT5 SuperGT series...you'll have to include the NOMAD Diablo in there. :) just for fun.
 
If the CTC returns, I want to see the Silvia S15 included. The 350Z (albeit with drastically reduced horsepower) was included and it was heavier than the S15 but with the reduced horsepower it had just a tiny bit less horsepower.
 
Well, I am trying to stay true to the real life CTC series. Hence why I've chosen cars that were actually in it. That's why the 350Z was in the first one.

Also, the second series will be shorter and, if it's possible, I'd like to do a track day testing session do dial in the car tuning and things. Also, if it's possible, I'd like to do allow Racing Modifications...but only if it's possible. If I could include PP ratings, we could limit each class to PP ratings. But the next one won't be until 2011 sometime. Like probably January or February.
 
Anyone have any idea on what to do for race series in GT5? I mean, there's no real way to give weight penalties or lower HP levels.
 
I just came up with some ideas for some new racing series Check them out and them me what you think:

Ferrari 458 Challenge
This one has weighed heavily on my mind ever since I tuned my 458 so I thought perhaps this could have the potential to be something close to a ladder series for the more established championships.

Trans-Am series
Though it would likely be a 2-car race (like that hasn't happened before), I think this would be really cool to make happen. While there is a serious lack of American tracks to pull this off, this could bring alot of muscle car gearheads together

Classic Sports Car Series
With cars like the Chapperal 2J and Ford GT40 Returing along with new classics like the Ferrari 330 P4 and Ford MK IV, this can be something along the lines of the world sports car championship. There's plenty of tracks for it and a somewhat interesting choice of cars that'll need some fine tuning to effectively pull off two decent classes.



So there you have it (for now). Might be more
 
The Trans-Am race would only be a two car race if you required RMs. If they were stock, you could include the Challenger, Mustang and Camaro. I ran these three stock around the Top Gear Test Track, and they're pretty even.

I like the idea of a 458 Challenge.

I would also love to do a Viper Festival of Speed Series with the ACR.

Red Bull X1 Challenge
it could be fun to see some clean GTP racing in the X1. The X1 i quit easy to drive if you practice a bit. i was thinking that most of the tracks will be real world circuits.
Tell me what you think about it

The Trans-Am race would only be a two car race if you required RMs. If they were stock, you could include the Challenger, Mustang and Camaro. I ran these three stock around the Top Gear Test Track, and they're pretty even.

Here's the manditory settings I've come up with based on what I managed to achieve:

HP: 571 (using ECU tuning and Engine Tuning Stage 1)
KG: 1356 (using Weight Reduction Stage 1 and Window Weight Reduction)
Tire Compound: Racing Hards (Except in wet races, where rain tires will automatically be allowed)
Clutch: Twin plate
Suspension: Fully Customizable Kit

For now, thats what I've pulled off and after driving it, its bad fast.

I don't like this idea as it takes a while to actually get the car. (btw, there are 4 of these you can win: 3 different versions from the X1 Challenge at level 30 and when you hit B-spec level 35, you get one as well.)

That might work. I hope PD adds more RMs including one for the Mach 1 Mustang. They could easily ad the Trans-Am Mach 1 that way.

Sounds good. We'll have to have a good mix of wet and dry races. Maybe for the tracks that have a weather variation, plug them into a randomizer and which ever one comes up, that's the one we race.

I'll have to mess with the settings, but I know the ACR runs awesomely on Racing tires. Even stock tires, I've run a few cars around the Top Gear Track, and so far only the Black Mask GT-R has beaten it. With soft racing tires, only the Pagani Zonda R has beaten it. So, it's a pretty fast car. I'm thinking, at the moment, running Dead Stock ACRs except for tires and maybe a couple other reductions.
