I wanted to post here to invite everyone to the second season of our SNAIL Tuner and Team Series.

The series has a team structure, in which individuals sign up as constructors or drivers (or both, if they are ambitious). The constructors recruit drivers and build the car. The constructors get points depending on the performance of their drivers.

So far, the races have been fantastic and exciting. Everyone is invited to come out and have a look, check out the replays from the first season or check out the thread.

I wanted to mention this again.

This is a racing series where you can build a car and have a team race it! You can see how your build does against other teams and their builds!

Excellent questions...

You can be just a tuner, just a driver, or both.

If you want to be a tuner (or a tuner and driver), then you'll need to submit, by this Sunday, your draft picks. You don't need to recruit your own drivers. But you will be drafting from the available drivers (they are listed in the second or third post of the thread). If you are a tuner and driver, though, keep in mind, you lose your first-round draft pick on yourself.

As I said, you don't have to recruit your own drivers, but the more drivers you can bring to this series, the better it will be. Just keep in mind, we insist on clean drivers. We will leverage penalties on those that do not follow the GTP OLR.

The size of the teams depends on the interest. Right now, we have 10 interested drivers, and three tuners. So, we'll probably do 3 teams of 3 with an extra driver left over. If we get more tuners, then we'll go down to smaller teams. Maybe 5 teams of 2. If we get more drivers, then we can go bigger teams.

If we can get 20 or so drivers, then we will actually go for two different classes. I'd love to get 6 teams of 4 drivers each in 2 classes. So each team submits 2 drivers to each class.

But, we'll see how much interest we have.

So I can drive and tune but lose my first round draft pick. But, can I bring in two or three friends to be my team or would these new drivers be then entered into the draft?

They would be entered into the draft.

I wouldn't mind teams coming to join, but that does stack the talent a bit. We had a team of two drivers that join late last season, and they, as drivers, were probably the two most talented. The only reason that team didn't take the championship is because one of them had network issues and only finished half of the races.

I think he won all of the races he finished. Or at worse, finished second to his team mate.

So, we have a draft, so the talent can be spread out a bit.

Ya. I was going to ask a few of my friends who are GT Academy level drivers.

So how are there two teams already assembled if there is a draft?

They drafted in the first season. They could drop some or all drivers if they want to get that draft round back. They are both three driver teams. If we go to four drivers, they will get a third round draft pick.
