Racism in certain lobbies

I'm glad that Portuguese lobbies don't do that: I'm portuguese and I live in Portugal. My PS3 was purchased in Portugal and I never got kicked out from an portuguese lobby. But for other side: Racism is bad and cruel. An japanese host cannot kick out an american just because he's japanese and he lives in America :/ I'm not racist and I do not support racism. This racism must end: There may be differences between colors but all persons should have the same rights like we do.
👍 👍 👍

I've been in hundreds of lobbies and only been kicked once for my country of origin, by an American if it matters. I think a lot of this has to do with which kinds of rooms you frequent and how often you go across the pond, whichever pond that might be, and run into lag/latency issues. It's well known for example that Aussies have trouble with people not on their own terra firma, so I avoid any room hosted by one.

That lag/latency makes Canadians sound like they are talking slowly.

That's why we kick them.

I do surprisingly well in AUS/NZ lobbies, never have been kicked from one. I seem to join just the right European based rooms as well, as I haven't had much issue with anyone over there. However let me tell you how I've gotten so much flak and hatred from Canadians. Of all things it's our friends up north. :( Says I can't be there because I only speak English. I prove them wrong by using French and then it's because I'm American. Rude. 10+ times this has happened, unlucky...

Online segregation makes technical sense. Unless you play by e-mail....

Racism and discrimination (most people don't even know the difference) should be stamped out (not be tolerated to say the least) though.

I have mainly problems with German lobbies ,since GT5... Don`t know why ,but statistically I get kicked -for no reason-
by the time I enter the room.

But generally apart from these strange "coinsidences" , I dont find any racism in GT :)

Must be those guys from
Québec (French speaking Canadians) That were racist to you. Those guys (Except those in Montréal and a few others) sometimes hate us English speaking Canadians so much they wanted to be their own country at times. :P

Yeah some of them had specified they're from Québec. Very exclusive people!

Maybe Germans are pi$$ed that their country bailed your country out, and yet your countryman act like ungrateful brats. ;)

I only got verbally abused and kicked once by Americans back in GT5. Apart from that all's fine.
I believe it's mostly what kind of lobbies people frequent. If you often join drift rooms or 1000 PP rooms chances for abuse are higher, as their are more kids and therefore less maturity, I assume.

Edit: just remembered when in GT5 a group of Dutch ganged up on me and decided to ram me at every opportunity because of my nationality.

I got kicked out from an all-European lobby in COD: Black Ops II and a Japanese lobby in GT5. If only PSN could implement a warning points-system similar to what we have in :gtplanet:, that'll teach players not to show racism. Public online lobbies should be free and for every international players, not for people who are racists by kicking out foreign players.

Do you agree with my idea that PSN should have a warning points system?

Frenches on GT6 are maybe the most racists guys I know, honestly. That's disgusting. I've been kicked out multiple times from their rooms for no reason, maybe just because I have an US account so my flag on GT is USA. That sucks, really :(
French players form the majority online for the WRC rally games, and there has never been a problem in my experience during online races on all four - players are 'ghosts' to other in this game though. GT6 being a bigger, higher profile game however does sees to draw the wrong element.

I had read that Canadaian French is really quite different from modern French, to the point that it is almost a different language.

This comment came from a French writer during his travels around the world. Not saying that the attitude is correct, but it might explain why speaking French didn't help.

How do you know its racism???

In the lobbies I usually play with spanish people, we usually kick the people from any american or asian country (and Australia/NZ too of course)
Reason: DELAY/LAG caused by being so far away.

Low ping is very important in online playing, and the more far away a country is, the more ping/delay you will have with people of those countries.

We usually have no problem with other european countries though.

After GT5, I learned to avoid French rooms altogether. Same goes for the Aussies, but I'm assuming it had more to do with latency issues. Never had problems with other nationalities though.

Myself personally have been kicked out of lobbies from French Canadians to UK to Japanese all because I'm a dang yankee.I have also have kicked out racist players in GT5&GT6 whenever I was host.I served 3 years in the army,my best friend is native hatian and did 2 tours in Iraq to get his citizenship.I can't stand racists and they shouldn't be tolerated in the game.Death and God doesn't see race, they bless and come for all equally

The worst are the French though, from what I've seen and dealt with. The Spanish aren't far behind. I have also had some run-ins with the Greeks. One in particular joined a lobby and started abusing anyone who was British in the lobby, to the point where he wished Britain would fall from a world power and we should all die...

I laugh at the Aussies though. I've been called a Pommy Pr*ck before in a lobby, it's just funny. I've found with Aussies that the best way to deal with the racism is to take it on the chin and have some banter. Give as much as you get and 9 times out of 10 you won't be kicked.

Last time I checked American is not a race. That said there are a lot of races in America...

As far as Aussies. GTP's very own, A.T.P.(the Drag Racers from down under) are not afraid to enter American lobbies. And they actually do pretty well, considering 50% of Drag Racing is your internet connection($$$$$). Of course, the Drag Racing circle is looked at as a cluster:censored: but its not as bad as you think.

Hmm that wasnt racist at all :D

Angry German Birds :D
Dude, chill.
It was said in jest. I thought the ;) made it clear. I guess irony doesn't work to well on the internet.

For the record: I do not believe the Greek are ungrateful brats, and people should only be judged by their behavior in a certain lobby (and to some extent their connection), not by their nationality, gender, race or sexual orientation...as long as they're not Bronies. These guys kinda kreep me out.

This is part of the reason I stick to rooms I am running myself or I know the host. Not that it happened often anyways. I've been kicked from 2 USA rooms since GT5 both stating Canadians can't drive before I entered the track, 1 Québécois room for not speaking French even though it was a no mic lobby and I planned to race without typing and once from a Japanese room but I was told this was because I didn't say hello when I entered the room.

My room usually has a good mix (usually American, Canadian, Chinese, British and Aussies) with 1 or 2 popping in from Taiwan and Japan every now and then. The only countries I seem to have problems with are Brazilians and Argentinians sadly, it usually gets pretty laggy. If that's case I just send a PM stating why I feel they should leave, most say they understand and even say thanks for letting them know. A few obviously do get quite upset but it's understandable.

Racism is a stupid thing. Even with language barriers if the person is not speaking where is the trouble? If there is a connection issue with specific areas, spouting off some racial slurs and booting the person doesn't help anything but it seems to be the funnest method to most. As most I've seen do it find it horribly amusing.

I've had people tell me boot people from my lobbies before they are even loaded into the room for having a specific flag. Which then got themselves removed from my room pretty quickly.

Dont worry I am being sarcastic as well , I am not mad :) , oh I am too old for this

If i want to enter a lobby, i have to make sure that there's different people from different country's so i don't have to worry of things. I agree, i hate racism, we all humans right?

You should move to Gaza.

Edit: just checked. Gaza is actually 76ms for me. No idea where the 3ms came from.
