Racism in certain lobbies

I'm German and so far the only times I've encountered racism, in both GT5 and GT6, was when I was trying to play in British lobbies, usually I'm greeted with a nice "****ing Nazi" or "Bye Nazi" through the mic and then get kicked and the other times I just got kicked immediately.

Why you say racism when you are the same caucasian race as the brits?
It's xenophobia instead of racism.

It's xenophobia, that's right, but must posts in this thread describe xenophobia.
It still is discrimination based on your nationality.
I should've used "xenophobia" instead of "racism", I now, but as long as you get the gist of the post it shouldn't matter.

Well, I dont know what to say... I've always been taught to use the correct words, but anyway, nevermind.

I've suffered from xenophobia today :lol: I was in a french room (not all were french though) and the intersting thing is, everything was fine until I started winning some races. Then I started to see insults "spanish merde" and stuff like that, and they played dirty against me. Such losers ;)
 
The thing most are speaking of is Nationalism. You are targeted because of your flag. That happens to American players quite a bit on foreign servers. I can understand the lag related kicks however. No one likes a room killer no matter what side of the ocean you live on. But still, once some users see a particular countries flag, the national hate comes out and they either kick or abuse the player from the country they don't like.

I remember going to a Japanese room and being rammed and pushed off the track. My answer was to make sure I slammed the hell out of the players who rammed me. No more problems. I've also been to Japanese rooms where I was treated very well. Same thing with French Canadian rooms. The French Canadian people are notoriously racist in the real world. I know there are French Canadian players on my friends list. And we get on well.

Racism (being targeted because of your ethnicity/color) is different and more personal than nationlism.
Those special idiots are to be ignored, and you should be happy to be kicked from their room. Do you really want to be around ignorant hate filled people in a place where you should be having fun? Anyone can be racist. Black, white, Spanish, French you name it. All it takes is a small mind, large mouth and anonymity that is provided by an internet connection.

As for Germans; While in the military I traveled to Germany. They are some of the sweetest people you will ever meet.
One syphilis ridden lunatic (Hitler) ruined the image of millions of people because of his hate. No matter the flag or ethnicity, its all down to each individual. People not countries generate hate. And it will be people standing up together no matter what flag they carry and no matter what color they are who will eliminate hate, ignorance and stupidity. In every nationality and every ethnicity you will find wonderful people. The problem is there are some real dirt bags in each nationality and ethnicity too. We need to kick the dirt bags.
 
This morning my father was playing some gt6 online, since it was early in the morning, there were nearly no rooms for Brazilians, so he just jumped into a japanese room.
And the japanese guys told him via chat, in english "Sorry but no Massa" and after that just kicked him out of the room. (They meant Massa as in Felipe Massa, the brazilian F1 driver)

Not even him, or myself felt offended by that, we actually just had a laugh and went to look for another room.

I'm not agreeing with any sort of racism, but I don't see any problem in the room owner wanting to restrict his room to hang around with his fellow countrymen, if they want that just respect their decision, as long they're not straight up insulting you for not being as the same nationality as they are, or actually harassing you in game there is nothing wrong with it.

My point of view of course.

^this is why I try to stay in USA lobbies because I know how bad driving with those guys can be but some of them might cause lag spikes and that can cause wrecks too. I seen it happen a lot in my friends room even if it a stage route x race or a road course race. So I think of those guys as a red flag. The uk and the brazilian guys not as much because I have a friend on psn that is from the uk and Brazil and the Brazilian is praiano.

Finally someone opened this Thread. I wanted to do it a while ago but didnt...

Iam from Germany (but iam not a german) and i had many problems with people from England, they say iam a nazi because iam the fastest in the lobby lol, but the funny thing is , everytime someone joins from India or Pakistan(or if they are using a Headset and u can hear their accent ) than the people from england are calling them "[I think we can guess without the colourful language and racial epithets - GTP staff]".

Iam not talking about Germany England France or whatever. It has nothing to do with the country these people are coming from. A bad human is a bad human doesnt matter their religion, country, colour or whatever.

ps: It really hurts me if i listen to these 12 year old kids (most of them were from UK) in the Cruise lobbies. They are kids, but they have such a aggression and such a hate WOW. Where does this come from ? Most of them don't even know what a **** they are talking. So iam assuming that it comes from the Parents or the Media.

It has nothing to do with the latency, I have played with many people in the USA and it all works fine. Its just the fact that I am from Europe that makes them ban me. Like every online game there are some assholes but the least they can do is communicate to you if they don't want you, I am perfectly fine with that.

not yet :(, there still are the occasional problems but not that i am lagging all over the place. When somebody is not loading for me I notify them and excuse in advance or rejoin the lobby.

I have to agree that the Australians are pretty bad. Most seem to be the stereotypical racist bogan that will only race commodores at Bathurst. I race with Europeans and Americans mostly but my Aussie internet is so bad that I lag and get kicked.

Cant say i agree with this statement. In my experience there are 'bogans' planted in every nation on earth, it wont matter what their flag looks like, if they decide they want to kick you, abuse you or try to run you off the road they will.

The lobbies i run are generally "open lobbies" with "RaceonOZ AUS-NZ only" clearly stated as the room title. It doesnt stop people from other countries coming an, and i do kick them without an explanation. Why.....by the time you explain to the 10th person that they are lagging you tend to not get a lot of decent track time, so, regardless of the flag, if it isnt Aus or NZ i hit the kick button. Does that make me racist or xenophobic ? No chance.

We have about 80 Aus and NZ in our league practice sessions and i can say we try to pride ourselves on clean racing, and we look to go about it without the issues that drivers from far away countries bring with them.

You realize of course that the statement, "I have to agree that Austrailians are pretty bad" is in and of itself a kind of generalization most people would call xenophobic or in this thread, racist.

You realise of course that xenophobic relates to people immigrating from another country to your own, so for an Aussie to say "I have to agree that Austrailians are pretty bad" is nothing more than a recognition of failings by some Aussie's who create GT6 lobbies, and has nothing to do with xenophobia or racism whatsoever.

Because im pretty certain Germans would get some flak from Russians.
 
I was once kicked out of a lobby because I`m English and the other two fellas were Italian. Not to mention the name of the lobby was, "Everybody welcome". :boggled:
 
I get kicked all the time for entering rooms, and choosing a much lower grade tire (SH in a SS room). Tire racism? Tire discrimination at the very least.

:lol: sorry to derail slightly, but I couldn't help but laugh at that. I probably shouldn't be joking about it all, but it seems to me that the other way around would be more likely: Flak is an abreviation of Fliegerabwehrkanone, the German Anti-aircraft guns...;)

i see many lobbys with "french only" tag. also can say italians, spains and french are more racist then other players/drivers. dont know why but something is wrong with this people. maybe low iq or wrong education ;)

not all are bad, but surprising much. that is sad. :/

French, Italians, Spanish are more racist than other players but it's ok to call them stupid or lacking in education..makes perfect sense.
 
I don't think it's necessarily racism in online lobbies in most cases, but it is pretty annoying to see [QC ONLY OR KICK]. Go on GTA or Call of Duty if you wanna see what online racism looks and sounds like. I personally love racing people from around the globe. Each to their own I guess.

I'm a French Canadian from quebec and I got kicked once in gt6 in a free run lobby with mostly people from QC. Just because I was defending a French Guy being a victim of racism. In only 40 sec I was kicked from the room for that.

Yes. It's like saying "Whites only."

Every time I've joined a QC room, I've been kicked in no time. No other group of people do this in GT6 except QC.

Why is that?
