Obviously it has already been announced that GT5 has the WRC license so it will contain all the modern world rally cars and i expect it to have all the older rally cars from previous GT games (e.g. Lancia's, Mitsubishi's, old Subaru's etc).

However, do you think the current crop of Super 2000 and Super 1600 rally cars will be included. The IRC has taken off in the past few years and especially last year with Kris Meeke winning it. So i would assume that cars like the Fabia S2000, 207 S2000 and new Fiesta S2000 will be included. Also, with the WRC moving to 4WD S1600 Turbo cars in 2011, surely GT5 will have some of these. I would love GT5 to have an IRC license but i doubt this will happen.

What do you think are the chances of these cars making an appearance in GT5 and what other rally cars would you like to see in it?

Thanks

I want the Alpine A110, Stratos and 5 Maxi Turbo from GT4 at least.

I would be nice to have an 037 and 6R4.

I don't think they would have managed to get WRC and IRC licensed in the once game.
The full selection of GpB cars will probably be in the line-up and some old classics; Delts's, ST185s, 240RS, would love to see some old Mk2s or KPs in rally guise - Here's hoping.

And the Lancia 037, Metro 6R4, Ferrari 288 GTO, Opel Mantra, Opel Kadet, BMW M1, Toyota Celica, Toyota MR2, Porsche 911 and at least 10 others.

Basically, besides all the Group B cars GT4 didn't have, it had all of them. I think it had most of the better known cars.

I'd like to see some of the Group S cars, they never go a chance to race, the were getting ready to start and then Group B was cancelled after that RS200 crash and the Group S was scrapped as well. Would be interesting to drive thoes Group S cars though. Think Group B, but faster.

Aside for the Group Bs and S2000s, another class of rally cars i would like to see is all the old F2 cars like the Megane Maxi, Ibiza, 306 Maxi, Astra, Escort, Golf etc. They sounded soooo nice.

I would like to see classic rally cars like escort, celica, lancer, corolla, older subarus, quattro, 205 etc. in the game. i'm im sure there will be some.

Woulf be great using this online and putting some of the rice racers to shame,

OMG!. That is the best sound ever! Imagine having that as your everyday car.

"TURN LEFT HERE!!"
"WHAT?!?"
"OH FOR GOD SAKE!! :grumpy:"

But seriosly I remember watching an interview once where someone said that you could hear it from 2 miles away in the middle of the forest at midnight. :dunce:

They weren't necessarily faster, they would be closer to the performance of current day WRC cars. Group S cars were more advanced so would have better cornering ability than 'standard' Group B cars (less needed to be built for homologation), but in competition form would have been restricted to around 300-350bhp.

Group S came about in June 1985 and was ment to start from January the 1st 1988, and would only require manufactures to produce 10 identicle cars and there would be technical rules limiting horsepower to a maximum of something like 300bhp.

Yeahh, but those restrictions aren't the scrictest. The current WRC cars are apparently making less than 300bhp, but they make over 30psi boost if i remember correctly.
Now, even with my limited technical knowledge, over 2bar boost on a 2ltr engine making just 300bhp doesn't really add up.

They're supposed to be 300bhp, but most things I've read say they're actually around 330-340bhp. The reason they have such god accelerration is because they produce just over 400lb-ft of torque, and that's alot for a 1250kg car.

Pikes Peak Celica, Tacoma, Peugeot and the hill climb rigs as in DiRT

205T16 - although was disappointed with the performance of this in GT4.

Also saw Juha Kankanen (sp?) driving the Toyota Celica GT4 on the Tour De Corse in 88ish?? would be a good car to include

But IIRC arn't WRC cars supposed to be faster round a rally stage than a Group B car. They carry a hell of a lot more speed through the turns.

Yeah I think the current wrc cars started off with about 260 bhp and were a fair bit slower than the group b's put at the moment they are faster than the group B monsters with only around 330-340bhp rather than 500bhp+

There's no excuse not to have the Audi quattro in race trim. It is the car that made group B what it was. Next time you look at a STi or EVO, thank the guys at Audi who made 4WD essential for any car to win a rally. So let's get ALL of Group B in the game, as well as earlier cars like the Stratos.

I've just read an article in the latest evo magazine about IRC and S2000 cars, if I'm being honest I hadn't even heard of them before. They sound pretty lively and a lot of fun to drive due to being smaller than WRC cars so I hope they do have a few in GT5. If not in GT5 I would guess they'll be in GT6 to match WRC using S1600 cars from 2011.
