Will there ever be the FIA WRC rally racing in the us? We all would love to see it and we love those Lancers right? Lets get on with the program!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

The Maine Forest Rally might become one, but I think that is a rumor for now.

Frankly, I am not an optimist and seriously doubt that high scale rallying will be popular enough in the U.S. to justify the automible manufacturers investing a lot of money into the U.S. Rally.

Yeah, I doubt we'll ever get much more than the SCCA. A real shame.

The problem is that the cars in the WRC (the road versions) are either not on sale in the US or there is little demand for them which will mean the manufacturors will see no point in contesting there. I can see a WRC round in the US by 2004 though.

I would love to a WRC circuit in the States, but it would probably take some time for the concept of rally to become popular in the US. I think with the inceptions of the WRX and the Evo VII or VIII (last time I heard they were changing the numbers for the US Evo) into the markets here, I think that rallying will gain support and that we will have a WRC circuit in the near future. But for now all I can do is watch the Speed Channel.

I would love to see pro rally events here in the US.

Also, the scca events look to be fun. I'm actually on a team right now, and we're hoping to sport a car in next years circuit.

Hmmm. I wonder if there are international implications...would the U.S. be worried with all the different countries represented? Eh, probably not. Remember, we do host F1 & Indy over here, and of course, Le Mans (poor BMW).

I, personally, would love to see WRC over here, but remember, rallying is a promo tool for the manufacturers. Most manufacturers (with the exception of Subaru and soon Mitsubishi) don't have cars over here. Peugeot, Seat, etc. come to mind. So, it wouldn't be a very effective promotional tool.

that would be sweet if World Rally came to the states. I go to an amature rally here in Michigan every winter. Its not the same but itll do. Also my friends got a rally car, a tuned imprezna. We go down back roads all the time and think we are rallying. Its fun.

But i wish that it does come here to the states.

Even if it did come to the states, the atmosphere just wouldn't be the same. I doubt people would be interested, except for the few of us.

<- is DEFINITELY going to the Maine Forest Rally this year.

id have to agree with you. i doubt they would be closing any stages due to too many spectators and safety concerns :p
but if they brought rally here, id drop everything to go.

and by the way, there is also the accent in the states. and why do we always get dumbed down versions of cars? (ahem, 120HP lancer '02)
