Rally tuning tips

I'm having trouble beating beginner level rally events. I have tried a couple different card and suspension setups but still cant win the races. I souped up both my cars to almost max HP for the event which is 246.

Any tips on how I can win? I doesn't seem like I'm driving that bad.
 
Those aren't tough but like what Osr20_L said, get yourself a 4WD car (I prefer the Lancia Delta HF). Weight reduction, Chasis upgrade, and then get the drive train upgrades.

Should make it so that you'll accelerate more quickly than the competition, and also follow the racing lines!! and make sure you're SMOOTH. It may look like you're going slower but your time will be better!
