RAR files

I use WinAce. It rocks and supports just about all the other compression format.

WinRAR only does RAR files, right?

Real Player files have an RM extension. Real Player is just downright awful; quite possibly the worst program every written. You should stay away from it like the black plague if you can.

No. It does RAR, ZIP, CAB, ARJ, LZH, TAR, GZ, TAR.GZ, BZ2, TAR.BZ2, ACE, UUE, JAR, and ISO.

I also use winrar. Great program.

Next question might be what are PAR or PAR2 files?

They use raid technology to help error correct parity files enabling the user to recreate a missing file from a archive set, or to check and fix differences in naming convensions. Goto Google and lookup Quickpar for a free program utility download.

I have found that Winrar is quite faster at processing files than Winace, other than that, I haven't found any real advantages from one over the other.

Bleh. 7-Zip uses LZMA compression which owns all.
