I know stuff like the 22b and the Datsun 240Z are found in the used cars (beacuse I own those 2). I tihnk we need to start a topic here of what everyone has found out there in the scrapheap! Post your favoritte used cars and the days (if you know them).
 
I'm having fun with the Historic car races @ Grendelwald right now. I've just bought the Toyota '68, 2000GT gt. It has a similar body style to the Datsun 280 ZX.


It's always there at the bottom of the used car list at $122,000, I think. Performance wise it's not worth the cost, but it is fun, especially against the [R] shelby coup, and ford GT40. You have to pass'em in the turns, then hold'em off the rest of the race.

The hp limit is 392 at Grendelwald, and you'll often have to race the '67 corvette, which comes from the factory at 427hp. Not to worry though, the AI always drives the 'Vette like s#*@ and comes in last.
 
The computer always has some justification for putting a to strong car in the race...or they put in a car that has about half the HP but drive it perfectly so you dont stand a chance...stupid computer AI!!
 
My favourite used car is the 22B. Best Impreza, when race modified. Could've come in a different colour so you didn't have to spend all that money to get rid of it.
 
Monouk: What day were you on when you got the Datsun 240Z. I want to get all the rare cars but the Dtasun 240Z never turns up.

IXLR8: Is that 83 RX-7 Turbo rare, or just an RX-7?
 
Im not totaly sure about the day, but I tihnk it was about 530 or 540...and its in the Nissan lot...I always thought Datsuns were toyota...
 
How about the Capuccino? It was the last car I needed to achieve 98.2% and it took me about 30 more days until I found it. The AZ-1 has been known to drive a few people nuts.

Another rare car is the Celica RC '91. You can get it on the first day, but it's tricky to find after that.
 
Is there that many rare used cars. I thought there was only the Toyota 2000GT, Datsun 240Z and the Impreza 22B.

Can someone please give me a list of all the rare cars so I know what I have to look for.
 
There's the Lancia Stratos, I think it's a '68 or '69.
I think it's a random prize in one of the endurance races.
So I guess since you win it technicaly it's not a rare USED car, but Lancia has no used car list.

BTW how does one get that sweet '71 skyline?
 
i find that the harcest car to find is the 71 skyline. i had three of them. bought them all at once. haha. ummm i think it was like 340 or 350 day?

  • Subaru Impreza 22B
  • Nissan Datsun 240Z
  • Suzuki Cappuccino
  • Toyota 2000GT
  • AZ-1
  • Nissan '71 Skyline
  • Mazda '83 RX-7 Turbo
  • Toyota Celica RC '91

Right-e-o. I don't know where this AZ-1 ones from so could someone please tell me. Post any other rare used cars if you know of any more.
 
What they call a 1983 Rx-7 Turbo in GT2, actually is a 1980 Rx-7, but in 1981 they changed front and rear bumpers. In 1983, Mazda introduced a Turbo powered 12A in Japan, never sold in the U.S. or Europe. So an '83 Rx-7 would look different.
 
My rare cars so far - on day 370 now:

  • Impreza 22B STi Found on day 210 with 297hp
  • Suzuki Cappuccino '95 Found on day 320 with 63hp
  • Skyline GT-R (KPG10) '71 Found on day 330 with 157hp
  • Toyota 2000GT '67 Found on day 370 with 147hp

Some of those cars don't sound all that rare. Most rare cars are in the 60s, 70s and 80s. And aren't rare cars always found at the bottom of the used car list. Because the Subaru 360 I've seen at the top of the list.
 
I wonder if different versions of the game use different days for displaying the used cars. I have been looking for 22B for weeks now. I am on day 220 or so. I check every day. I know I checked on 210.
 
I wasn't too sure on that one. There's a thread somewhere in this forum called "I'm on day 143 and still no Impreza 22b". There's a list of the sightings of the 22B there. Pupik posted it I think. Anyway, go check it. I know for the other 3 that those were the days I found them on, I recorded in a book.
 
What you need to do is wait every 10 days. Apparentally thats what Polyphony says you need to do. You may not find the rare car your looking for, but another one could be around.
 
i found the 22B, '71 240ZX and the AZ-1 all on day 20. it does change every 10 days so just keep looking. i got the 71 skyline and the 68(?) 2000GT on like day 600 or somthing like that. OH and for all ya people with like 2 cards, buy the car you want, then on another card, buy like 2 or 3 from the "trade" thing, i got a stock 22b a rally 22b and a street racing 22b. Fun Fun.

If you just want to own every old car in the game, there's also a '69 suberu 360 that shows up at the top of the used list from time to time. I think it's a little over 900lbs, and 45hp.
 
I hear all this talk about the 360 and the AZ-1 and stuff, but they all uh...suck? The 22b is the only one thats even OK. It doesnt tune that good and its not all that fast. I think Im ganna make one of my 22bs into a hybred. As for the 360, sounds light but slow as a rock rolling up a hill...Ill just hafta but them and mess them up...mwhahahahahaha....I love havin a GSPro
 
The 22B Shows up early in the game at like day 39, 49, 59 then at days 90-99 but the later it appears the higher the price. If you find it early in the game it's 51,000cr. later it shows up at 55,000cr
So buy early and buy often.
BTW another rare car you guys didn't mention is the Lotus Europa. But it is a prize car, not one you can get used. But it will truly scoot for the minor amount of hp that it has.
There is also the cute lil' Mid engine Toyota that you win. I can think of its name at the moment.
 
correction I CAN'T think of its name at the moment. But fully tweaked it is the coolest machine for motorsports land.
 
Are you talking about the Tom's angel? yeah thats cool, i like that and the Tommykira ZZIII and RZZII, all fun little cars. I just got the 83 RX-7, not bad with over 400hp. I've been doing all the cup races for the differnt makers, its fun to try to get the cars you need from winning them, kinda get the odd ball car. Anyone heard a Demio A-Spec with all the mods, funky exaust note.
