Have to 100% gold I-B license tests (I think)👎
Only have one chance to get it in the game:tdown:

I didn't drive this car too much, but it performed like the ZZ-S, only looked different. I was expecting it to be a real monster because the ZZ-II was a dangerously fast car, but the ZZ-III was just another Elise-like car. 76/100.

Next: Toyota MR2 Supercharged '86 and MR2 GT-S '96.

Toyota MR2 Supercharger
Good pocket rocket car. Moderate power and handling. turns goooood.
I give it 84/100 with the fact thats its quite easy to spin if fully tuned.
Toyota MR2 GT-S
Another Good MR car with decent power and upgrades. good turning.
92/100. it cant enter all events. easy to spin. needs more powaaaaa!

Next: TRD2000GT and [R] Mini Cooper

TRD2000GT
In stock - not so much power and LOTS of understeering - it doesn't turn at all. When tuned, things start changing, but I wish it had the racing mod to put some downforce on front wheels.
65/100
[R] Mini Cooper
Much better :) It definetely doesn't worth 500000 Cr., but it's a nice little car that has everything that it has to have.
94/100

Next car: Saleen SR

Saleen SR Widebody
Good car with great handling and excellent power to match.
a little bit of understeer at full power turning. i give it 99/100

Legacy GT Wagon 96- i really wanna do this one so here goes.
HKS Drag 180sx beating power. good acceleration and a little bit of oversteer.
too much understeer high center of gravity makes for some flip-flop action!
84/100
and if youre wondering about the hks thing check the fastest turbo challenge car thread and download my video youll see!

Subaru Vivio is next

Measly 250,000 credit selling price:tdown:

 Isn't it funny how GT2 made many of us (me included) so jaded with money? :D Here you are winning A QUARTER OF A MILLION CREDITS and it's not enough! As I said, I'm guilty of this, too. :guilty:

Subaru Vivio is next

There are 2 Vivios...the RX-R and the RX-RA. Not much difference between them, but the RA winds up being 20 pounds lighter.

Power can be boosted up around 175 hp which actually makes Vivios competitive in lots of money-grabbing races like the TM enduro 👍

4-wheel drive 👍

Race-mods can be had 👍

CHEAP from the used-car lot 👍

Possible to race in dirt 👍

But....

For many, the Vivio falls into the "who cares" files...just another miniature kei car we've never heard of that is hogging up game memory. 👎

Tricky handling. I believe understeer dominates at first, along with a vagueness in the steering 👎

Not a great looker. 👎

so I rate 66/100 and I'm keeping with the mini-me theme..

Anyway, it's a great car. Four-wheel drive, 700+ horses, awesome aerodynamics, very light, great shifting...

Next car: Toyota Starlet Turbo '82 (this car is very interesting in hybriding, you know, so that's why I chose it)

I think you got the wrong machine. The Honda Life is a van, not a car. And at the most it only has like 119 hp. And it's front-drive.

Next car: Toyota Starlet Turbo '82 (this car is very interesting in hybriding, you know, so that's why I chose it)

Well I don't have access to hybriding, so I'll just discuss the car as it exists in the game.

Good stuff:
CHEAP 👍

Lightweight 👍

Kinda cute (in my opinion) 👍

2 NA tunes available. You can finish many B and A level races. 👍

Rear-wheel drive in a hatchback!!! 👍 Fun drifting times ahead.

Bad stuff:
71 hp to start with! 👎

Weak acceleration. No torque 👎

Tricky maneuverability. Mostly oversteer, fishtailing and sliding due to the lightweight rear-wheel drive. Too bad we can't mess with ballast in GT2. 👎

Despite the cheapness and lack of weight, this isn't really a good Newb friendly car. It was my first GT2 car ever, actually; and at the time I just couldn't get it to win ANYTHING! 👎

Only 100 horses in upgrades. 👎

Doofy transmission...I believe 3rd and 4th gear especially have an awkward placement. And of course you'll need racing gears once the power is upped. Funny that the transmission costs more than the car! 👎

You'll also need ALL the specialized parts to make this one competitive. Brakes, clutch, tranny, better tires...Not a whole lot you can do (other than slide around and stuff) while this one is stock.

34 out of 100 (tho the Starlet stays true in my heart)

Chevrolet's swansong, the Corvette GS, on paper, does not look like a different car from the conventional 1996 Corvette. However, it is the only car to pay homage to the older 1963 Corvette Grand Sports. The fearsome C2s featured stiffer suspension to improve an already impeccable drive, metallic brake linings, cast-aluminum wheels with spinner knock-offs, and a new, larger 36.5 gallon fuel tank. They were painted dark blue with a white dorsal stripe, and, on the most famous cars, two red hashmarks on the car's left fender. They dominated the tracks, but had their fair share of humblings against the even more legendary (and considerably lighter) Cobras.

The Corvette GS of 1996 had all the visual cues, but featured 17 inch (and 18 inch on the back) 5-spoke wheels, blackened with a silver outer rim, and the same styling as the C4. A 5.7L engine provided the same power as the stock C4, but with better grip due to slightly wider tires. New fender flares on the rear added to a subtle air of ferocity to the car, as well as the already-blatant aggression.

Getting back on topic, the Corvette GS in GT2 has good handling, but pales to the ZR1. The racing modification is not very different from the base C4, but the GS looks better stock. Also, the name and styling alone carry it to greater heights. An all-American sports car that can compete with the vaunted Japanese coupes overseas...

Lol, man, I was joking ;) I know it's a small van with no power at all, that's why I wrote that :)
And, about that little Starlet... Its NA tuning adds 130% of the stock power, and it's the best result of all cars in the game :) That's why I mentioned hybriding.

Next car: Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 (1995)

Did you write all that? :)

'95 Chevy Corvette ZR1

The usual V8 torque and power (410 hp)...the ZR1 starts off with more power than a regular C4, which has about 330 hp from the dealer 👍

ZR1s are only found in GT2! 👍

ZR1 features a dual-overhead cam engine as opposed to the regular C4's pushrods. And when you race a ZR1, you can hear the valves going as the revs climb. Beautiful sound, better imo than a stock C4. 👍

Higher redline (500 rpms higher) than a regular C4. This means we can keep it in 1st gear longer for better acceleration runs. 👍

Race-kit available. And like a normal C4 you can buy a ZR1 in many different colors. 👍

The acceleration you'd expect from a 'Vette. Sub 5-ish zero to 60 runs...13.0 second quarters possible while the ZR1 is still stock

190-ish mph top speed stock

Bad-ass looks (my opinion). 👍

But...

ZR1 can't accept as much power as a regular C4 or Grand Sport 👎

Heavy. Even with a race-kit, ZR1s weigh in at 2,993 pounds in contrast to the C4's 2,815. 👎

Fishtaily in GT2 (oddly in GT3, C4s are not as bad in till power gets raised) You'll need a limited-slip early in GT2. 👎

Understeers alot too. Vague cornering..you'll need to upgrade that suspension & brakes, too. Not as bad as a Camaro but still not a car for newbs. 👎

Tall gearing. 5th is rarely needed when stock, 6th gear will be collecting dust 👎

Can't stand the "patriotic" race-kit. :yuck:

But I rate the ZR-1 well anyways....purely emotional response: 76 /100 it happens sometimes.

190-ish mph top speed (stock)

The top speed is 333 kph at 7200 rpm on the 5th gear.
When you shift the 6th gear, the speed decreases.

Mazda RX-7 Type RS

Good engine and good sound. Very funny to drift. Top speed over 165 mph. But this car has not enough power (259 bhp only) to win against Camaros, Skylines and others...

Next car : Mazda MX-5 B-Spec (or Mazda AZ-1 A-Spec if the first one has already been done)

Mazda MX5 B-spec
Pros:
Easy to win
its rare its got 10 more horses and its got better rims than a stockie
fairly good tuning, really just the same as a normal 1990 mx would have
n00b-freindly! a n00bs best freind a powerless controllable car.
Cons:
really its an 89 MX5 with 10 more horses better rims and stickering
wheres all the power gone! 110bhp (i think) is hardly enuff
still easy to spin coz its FR

78/100 uniqueness
Autozam AZ-1 A-Spec
Pros:
w00t 5 more horses!
cool blue paint job with A-Spec lettering
good for Lightweight cup when youre up angainst those pesky coffees and pajamas
good tuning 132HP when fully tuned!
Great handling for an FF (yes is an FF)
Cons:
"Another car that ive never heard of"
not enuff power
oversteer is a bit of a problem
Not-So-n00b freindly a n00b wants 600+HP this has got 130HP

O I C :) Did you write all that? :)

Yes, with references from this book:

Corvette: The American Legend. Auto Editors of Consumer Guide. Publications International, Ltd. 1998.

I had to rephrase it so as not to violate copyright laws! A good read otherwise, I recommend it for any Corvette fan regardless of age or generation.

Dude, I'll have to challenge you here! AZ1s are mid-engine/rear drive, including the A-spec. I'll drive one later on to confirm, too and if for some reason I'm mistaken, I'll make note of it.

Suzuki Wagon RR **

So many people hate kei cars (in GT4 especially) but some of them, like the Suzuki Wagon, are at least kinda funky-looking and have a bit of style. 👍 Style is missing from so many cars, which place practicality at a premium and therefore wind up being boring designs. That's one thing I like about this one...the little bulge in the hood. The funny grille that's offset, and the boxy body that looks bigger than it really is, like a puffer fish. It is also inexpensive.

Power can be amped in an RR to over 180 horses! That + the low weight takes care of lots of racing in GT2 (you might be surprised). And we've got all-wheel drive. 👍 The S. Wagon is still clumsy, but at least it doesn't suffer from sway-oversteer as the AWD system means you can plant power down and reliably straighten this van up when it happens to get sideways. We can also get a racing mod, which is always fun to look at

But....

Understeer happens. According to my notes, I found myself braking a bit early in the Wagon...you can't just tap the brakes later like you'd do in a Suzuki Cappucino. Also, there's the 3-speed transmission!! :scared: Are they kidding? Tall gearing too....kills what acceleration the puny engine cranks out, especially during races. Some have also complained (and they'd be right!) about the Suzuki Wagon (any of the 3 versions in GT2) being unnecessary...a waste of game memory. But personally I dig the Suzuki Wagon.

So..

Summary: you'll have to upgrade just about everything in this car, but after winning the TM or Apricot Hill enduro (or maybe even Seattle!) money is returned with plenty of interest! :D Unlike the Honda Life (and some other keis) you can win plenty in a Suzuki Wagon.

Lancia Delta HF Evoluzione: 88/100

This car is great, a little European hatchback with solid ride quality, aided by its four-wheel drive and, unlike its Collezione cousin, starts off with over 200hp-at 214. The red paint scheme, while not quite corso rosso (I believe Italy's national racing colour), is still a nice hue, and the asymmetrical gold stripes add an unorthodox yet businesslike appeal to the car. Sadly, while more power is available, it actually gains less power when tuned than the less specialized Collezione, and there is no racing modification scheme available... but, it is very light and the flares and hood bulge create attitude for this 'red racer'. The car is a bit odd in bearing a resemblance to a 1970s BMW, but even that look has a handsome appeal all to its own.

not much to say about its preformance cause ive never driven it but it does look good

NEXT SPOON S2000

EDIT: has this sort of post all ready come up for gt4 or any gt. If not ill start it up

Spoon S2000... The original S2000 is better imho ^^ Furthermore, this one is way more difficult to get. 65/100

And, about Delta HF Collezione... I love it, it's a great rally car :) However, it suffers from understeering, but anyway it's worth more than 65/100 ;) And I also like the number plate :)

Next car: Lotus Elise GT1

Lotus Elise GT1: 81/100

One of the more obscure cars in general, this racer was built to compete against the Mercedes CLK-GTR and the possible TVR Speed 12 in FIA GT. The car is a GTP car at heart, but restyled to bear a resemblance to the Lotus Elise. While no doubt a speedy car, its unreliability masked its potential, and was withdrawn. The fact that it is not exactly a top-notch racer may be justified by a Classified ad in Vintage Motorsport selling a complete Elise GT1 with plenty of spares for only $250,000.

The car in GT2 is sensual to say the least, a low car with a black paint scheme and more curves than its contemporaries. One may choose it over an Esprit GT1 because of its purposeful appearance. The car is fun to drive, sounds exactly like a Toyota GT-One, and you can buy it right from Lotus' Special Vehicles Line-up, for a bargain 1,000,000 Cr. However, one cannot appreciate the Lotus on the showroom floor for its pitch-black paint scheme on a black background, and it is underpowered for a GT car- against a GT-One, at 672hp, it only produces 613hp. Being the same weight, the GT-One is a faster car. But, the Elise can corner better, and as an A.I. car, it has a very high-revving turbo car noise that is pleasant to listen to.

Next Car: Toyota Prius!

Toyota Prius!

A novelty! Odd to drive, as the motor kicks on and off like the real-life version. This has gotta be the first hybrid in a videogame ever...👍

The quietest car in GT2!!! :D

but...

Power can't be upgraded. Not a whole lot you can do with this oddity in GT2 (goes further in 4, tho). :grumpy: Any handling traits, braking issues, etc. never become realities since this car remains so slow. :grumpy:

Other than tires and TRACTION CONTROLS  you can't modify anything on this car! Which makes me think Toyota/PD included the Prius in GT2 as some sort of environmentally green message, or maybe to advertize the whole hybrid concept--which was still new and not popular yet in 1999.

Doofy, plain-jane looks. :yuck: The newer Prius you either love or you hate, but at least it's a riskier approach so far as design goes. :grumpy:

In real-life, Americans sometimes get tax credits for driving a hybrid around, where's mine?

Summary: An interesting car to drive for a few minutes, but other than the occasional slow 2-player race, WHAT IS THIS POS DOING IN A RACING VIDEOGAME IF YOU CAN'T MAKE IT GO FASTER???!! :banghead:

I'm kinda in a kei-car mood, so let's go with the Suzuki Cappucino '95 next.

Suzuki Cappucino '95:

Pros:
- It's got the looks :)
- Very small, good aerodynamics. It's even smaller than Lotus Elan... Not so many cars are smaller than Lotus Elan :)
- 187 hp for 624 kg... Yeah, that's pretty good power-to-weight ratio :)

Cons:
- FR layout... I don't think it's better than FF here ^^
- Huge turbo lag - it needs more torque at low revs.
- I'm not a Kei lover... So this car isn't anything special for me. Just an okay small car. Better than many other Kei's maybe.

Well, actually Elise is 100 kg lighter... This makes the small Lotus to have better power-to-weight ratio than the TS020 has :)

Next Toyota 2000gt '67 (old skool)

Toyota 2000GT 1968 (sorry, felt the need to point it out):

The Toyota 2000GT is hailed as the first Japanese sportscar, and caused a sensation when it was unveiled in 1965. Alas, it was not ready for sale until May 1967 due to difficulties in production. The car itself looked like a Jaguar E-Type fused with a Toyota Sports 800, but it was stunningly sensual, nothing like the above description. An inline-six with two Solex/Mikuni carburetors cranked out an even 155hp, and, coupled with the car's slippery shape, could push the 2000GT to 135mph. The car is distinctive in its 5-speed gearbox, at a time when four gears were often used. This beautifully-crafted piece had a curvaceous body, nary an angle misplaced. It sat only 45 inches high on slim Dunlop-shod steel locking wheels. Unfortunately, it also raised costs, and even at the high export price of $6,000+, very few Americans took it over a Jaguar E-Type or Porsche 911. Today, the Toyota 2000GT is a collector's item, only 337 being produced before the Datsun 240Z began its successful production life. In a twist of irony, the designer Albrecht Goertz tried to sell the design to Nissan/Datsun, but backed out, leaving the package free to sell to Toyota, another company showing interest.

The car in GT2 is just as elusive, the only cars appearing in the first two used car cycles at astounding prices ($110,000+), and then disappearing. The sensuous design is well replicated in the car, and larger rear bumpers introduced to the American market cars is also authentic. However, the car's stock performance leaves a lot to be desired, with low torque miring a superb vehicle. Tuning is almost an obligation here. The pros are the horsepower levels (325hp) and a good-looking Racing Modification scheme, and the car only weighs in at just over 1000kg in race trim.

Final rating: 82/100

Next Car: Datsun 240ZG

Datsun 240ZG
Great classic car with a bit of an NA punch with a top hp of 320
good handling
good upgrades
good acceleration for a 30 year old car

Cons
it flips and flops around the track if suspension isnt tuned
its has understeer badly
its hard to get
pretty poor power for a nissan i mean come on
81/100 coz im generous

Next Car IS: Nismo 400R Preciding Model

Who needs a Preceding Model when you have an awesome actual model!

Seriously, I don't know much about the history of this car (yet, watch for essays), so I am going to keep this short:

Like all Skylines and their other derivatives, the NISMO 400R Preceding Model is a fun car to drive, a cracker on the throttle, and, with 4-wheel drive, firmly planted on the road. However, (if I can remember correctly) it has 100 less horsepower (293hp) than the Nismo 400R and is still the same weight, but for a preceding model, this is not bad at all.

The car: 83/100

Next Car: NISMO 400R. The actual model.

Nissan 400R
Pros:
Awsome acceleration, climbs through the gears fairly quick
good handling.
its piss easy to winn in the tuned turbo car cup
Comes in a variety of colours
decent power 400hp
you can upgrade this puppy to 650HP!
Cool aero bodykit and rims that are unique to that car

Cons:
Understeer is there all the time.
it may be fast but its heavy even after all weight reductions
its easy too win if you have a well tuned 500HP car on your hands

96/100
