Probably not an exactly related topic to drag racing, but it's a question I ask purely because I drag race.

I recently got a Ford GT No Stripe for the first time, it has over 9,000 miles on it, and 873bhp. It has been fully modified. I tried to restore oil and the engine however it tells me that both are in fine order. However, I seem to be missing 2bhp?

Any ideas???

Also, at what mileage does a car start to deteriorate? I think I remember Retro saying its around the 7,000 mark? and finally, does an engine restore work on cars over 8-9,000 miles? like for how long will it stay restored before I need to restore it again, 500 miles, or so?

Thanks!

PS. I have a restoration ticket, but dont want to waste it for the sake of 2bhp which probably equates to 0.004 s off my 1/4, if I'm lucky. If I used that restoration ticket though, would I have to fully brake in the No Stripe again? ie. back up to over 200 miles? cause that in itself can be an effort O_O lol.

I say try breaking it in again and see what happens.

Nah, I dont want to waste a full car restore ticket, just curious as to at what point the miles start effecting the horsepowers... and secondly, once the miles start to effect horsepowers, does the restore engine (from the GT Auto shop) restore it to 100%? lastly, how long does the engine restore effect work on an aged car, 200 miles? 2000 miles? before it loses power again and needs re-stored again 👍

The car hits his full bhp from 200 miles to 6000 miles , after that there is no way to get it back.

So at 6,000 miles the cars performance deteriorates. When I use the engine-restore option from GT Auto, does that fully restore the engine back to it's 100% potential? and if so, for how long does that effect last? another 500 miles or so?

The reason I ask is because my 9,000 mile Ford GT No Stripe only has 873 bhp and it's fully engine restored. For some reason, I thought an engine restore would take it up to 875 (i think is the max it should have)....

After the 6k miles mark you can use a restore ticket but that is not in the GT Auto shop it should be in the Items section of GT Life if you have them and then it needs to be broken in as you would do with a new car.

About your original question Kraig I don't have an answer, I usually look for cars with less than 6k miles to avoid all that HP quest.

Have a look at this thread.

Once your car passes 15000km (9320.57 mi), it will experience permanent wear that can't be gotten back without a full car restore ticket.

At any mileage before this, you can get back your HP depending on where it is being lost. Unless you have just done an engine overhaul close to the 15000 km limit, in which case you may not be able to fully break it in (300 km) before it reaches that point.

Cheers, in a nutshell, guess I'll have to break in my newly aquired 0/0/0 Ford GT No Stripe to 200 miles so I can use it properly from now on! Hopefully it's even faster :)

Well you could but if your using it for online racing it really wont matter because your reaction time makes or breaks you. Ive actually had better luck using a tube style TV instead of my 52" HD TV. Sadly that route Im running wireless internet so mentaly I feel as if Im not up to par but it does work for me. With the milesge thing rule of thumb I have is any car 7500Km or less is OK. Larger motors suffer more than smaller one do. LIke the Ford GT will have more power loss after 20,000 miles as compared to a Mazda 323 with the same mileage.

This is not completely true

I've seen power loss as low as 6,000 miles, and I've seen No power loss at as high as 9,000 miles

It varies. The accepted standard is 6,000

Your worried about using your restoration tickets up?

$4 bucks at Walmart will fix that problem 👍

...And a secondary account.

I was in the exact position, my no-stripe was 873, got another lower mileage one and gained about 0.010 - 0.012

I just found another with 200 miles so I can donate my old one , 5,xxx miles full hp.

Walmart? I'm not following... If you're referring to the PS Store... I didn't know you could "buy" restoration tickets from the PS store... unless they come with some DLC pack that I may have already bought in the first place.

I got my tickets from some update from last year, think I got 5 of them at that time.

If it's full HP mate, then if you would be willing to. :) I can send some paint chips or whatever other car you want from the UCD/Online Collectors Dealership... 👍 appreciated greatly bud.

(oops, double post, my bad)

No paints needed, unless you have a couple Taffetta/Taffettas white kicking around, if not if maybe a future OCD car. I have someone who has first dibs on my OCD cars and in return he supplies me with a constant stream of paints and horns...so if he takes a car I want then I'll see you about it, sound good ?

Sure thing buddy, just let me know what OCD car you need, when they pop up. Erm I dont have any of those paints but I'll probably have standardish whites that you probably wont be interested in...

Anyway... 👍 Any chance you could paint it crome silver since we're best buds and all  :D

Yeah, the taffetta white is the brightest white I know of, even though the chip color is dull and dirty looking.

I suppose you'd like me to vacuum it out too?? Maybe hang a pine tree air freshener from the rear view mirror while I'm at it ?? Or perhaps you'd prefer I install a 8 ball shift knob for you ??? I think I can dig up a silver chrome for you, shame to paint over that matte dark grey though ;)

Nice one Mikey! Ran it 3 times in Speed Test, got it to 9.042... I probably could break the 9.03X barrier with the same tune and a practiced launch but I dont have the time atm as I'm shooting off to work, but either way, still a decent improvement of 0.006! Thanks again 👍

No probem, I put aftermarket on and chromed them too, you might want to try stock wheels, something tells me it makes a small difference...though I could be wrong, I can't remember.

Hmm, I dont want to lose the wheels and crome paint by changing them to stock... but thanks for the info! Oh, thanks for the Tank Car horn too! LoL!

Lol. I was wondering if horns made it through the trade process, now I know.
