Laguna Seca is a real track. Seattle, Rome, and Tokyo are supposedly close to real life, too, although I've only seen Seattle myself.

Some people have said that Super Speedway is based on a Japanese oval called Twin Ring Motegi.

I do believe you are correct. I went to the Experience link where I found a high res Quicktime video. The narator frequently refers to the oval track at Motegi as the "Super Speedway". They also have three or four additional courses there for go-karts and motorcycles. It looks like a really cool complex.

There was a big thread about this a while back, where someone pointed it out. I think someone had an idea about the origins of SSR11, but I doubt that is a real track. Mind you i'm also pretty sure there is a track simmilar to the test course in the UK. I remember seing Tiff Nedel drive a McLaren F1 around it, although it may not be based on it, because it didn't have a tunnel.

Holy cow ... that'd be one gi-normous place.

Test Course - Length: 6.426 <-- THAT'S BIG!

Yep it's where Tiff got the McLaren F1 up to 242Mph, I can't remeber the name of it though, but it doesn't have a tunnel but the GT3 test course is almost the same lenth.

Yes, Mid Field raceway... :D

its located in France, trhu the name sounds American. its used mostly for Sunday, and Saturday racers, you pay for getting in.. some US$ 180ish.. :odd:

Interesting. Can you find some links on the web for that? I couldn't find anything.

Tiff got the McLaren to an average speed of 199mph round the 2 mile banked oval at Millbrook Proving Grounds. The track is a single banked curve, 2 miles long.

The McLaren F1's peak tested speed was 240.01mph at VW's track, driven by Andy Wallace

I have a video of Tiff going 242Mph and going on about setting the record afterwards, the F1's true top speed is in the low 230's though, the 240Mph speeds were done without the catylictic converters on wich made them not road legal and even if they were they would have been classed as modified after that.

Laguna Seca and Cote (Monaco) are real, i've seen races on TV at those tracks. Laguna Seca is just a little North of where i live. i hope they include a lot more tracks in GT4 though, gets boring after a while.

Yeah, at least the have the tsukuba (spelling?) track as well, but I would loveto see more tracks, like Kyalami and even the F1 and MOTO GP tracks !!! No that would be cool ... if you could compare it to the real life lap times ...

Here you go, i only found one:confused:

Looks more like apricot hill, that dunlop thingy is from that circuit, and there is another circuit with such a thing in real life..... uhh, the drive with touringcars and that sort cars on it...

So I think:
-Cote
-Laguna Seca
-Tokyo
-Seattle
-Rome

Are all real road/tracks...:)

Nono, see this is what tracks are in the game that are real, not "what track would you like for GT4?"
