Opinions please, and facts if you can easily lay hands on them.

Over a distance (100 metres) do you think there is a noticeable/actual difference in the sound of a NATO 7.62 mm round and an AK 7.62 mm round being fired? I understand that the Mach 'crack' will be similar on both, but have no experience of them being fired.

And in a small aside, do you think you could differentiate the firing from NATO 5.56 mm?

I've only shot SKS, and it was YEARS ago. I seem to recall it having more "boom" than my AR-10(.308/7.62), but it's been too long apart, I'm sorry. I haven't really been around .223/5.56 either, but I'd be shocked if someone like @Zenith who has spent much time shooting the caliber couldn't easily tell if it was 7.62, or 5.56 being fired.

I don't know about being shot at but I know that when I show up at a range I can hear the difference between a .223 and a larger caliber like a .308 from 100yds from the firing line. So at least from that angle at a distance I can tell.

Never been in the line of fire, but when parking outside the outdoor shooting range I could easily hear the difference between the larger and smaller calibers. .223 sounds like a firecracker going off, .308, 8x57 and similar calibers sound like little cannons. 7.62x39 is in between those two.
I could also identify the muzzle loaders with their distinctive soft deep booms and shotguns making sharp short ''bangs'' like magnum pistols.

Imma good boi, nobody ever shoot at me(crap being pitched at me, that's routine). Still confused where "at" came from. j/k

OK, finally returning to work today(food poisoning), picked up my Condor bag.

Condor 42" Single Rifle Case

Two smaller pouches contains two separate compartments inside, each large enough for one mag.

All three pouches are molle attach/detachable.

My babies! USP & Kimber

Two handgun compartments within the large compartment, right behind those three pouches.

Overall, very happy with this bag for the price. Super practical design. :)👍

Ew food poison, the last time I had food poison 25lbs of my weight left my body through all kinds of orifices simultaneously. In 14 days. Get better!

And nice case!
I need one like that! Sadly I'm such an ammo wh0re, whenever I go to the gun store to finally get my rifles proper cases I leave with a couple of boxes of ammo / reloading supplies instead. No matter how hard a facepalm afterwards, I never change. :ouch:

I'm all good now, thank you. 👍 I've had bad one from idiot me leaving sushi out on a hot summer evening, then consuming them. :ouch: :dunce: The level of sickness you get from food poisoning(I hear seafood's even worse), as far as I'm concerned, it's the sickest one could get without actually dying. :nervous:

I know what you mean! Bottomless of pit of needs & wants! :D This bag is especially handy for detachable magazines, so I'm very happy with this one(lot of compartments/pockets). I just wish I had gotten olive drab color, to share molle pouches with my backpack. No biggie!

Oh yeah, thats a classic.
My case was pretty similar, it was bad calamari from a bad fastfood restaurant on a hot summer day, I had stomach cramps (salmonella) so bad I felt like I was gutshot. The worst pain I ever had till then was a shattered elbow, and the stomach cramps were easily five times as bad.

I just wish I had gotten olive drab color, to share molle pouches with my backpack. No biggie!
I was wondering about your color choice, Oregon is not the desert as far as I know. But looking at your pic it does make a good carpet-camo. :p

Yikes. Mine was just the worst cold sweat ever + losing every ounce of fluids in my body. :(

I went back & forth several times, finally just went with what I was in the mood at the time. Oregon actually have plenty of desert, but yeah, all green around where I live. :p Carpet camo lol

It is bad ass.
They are 15 round magazines. 30 carbine is an interesting little round.
That's plenty. 👍 I don't know anything about the caliber, but what do you like about it?

30 carbine shoots a .30 cal 110 grain projectile at around 2000 fps, straight walled case. Looks like stretched out .32ACP pistol cartridge.
Its use is limited to about 200yds, then it really starts to drop like a rock.

Not a rifle round, not a pistol round either, its really special.

I got my grandpas guns home yesterday. One is a 12 gauge under and over Bernardelli the other is a side by side Cockerill. I also have a Gamo air rifle on layby.

Beautiful morning so we made it out to the farm. The Garand and the Carbine both put big dumb smiles on my face. You all need at least one of each.

Make it so.
........ And the farm! I don't even have a place to shoot, man!

Over/under + side-by-side? Sounds freaking awesome.👍 Any chance for pics?

 We got the farm hookup through a friend of a friend. Now we know the owner pretty well. Just bring a case of beer and sometimes some breakfast while he and his buddies are up there cutting grass on the weekend and we can shoot all we want. Beats the heck out of all the waiting around you do at ranges.
Envyx100. What a connection..... :guilty:

I hate crowded..... well, not just ranges, but anything. Exactly why I'm there at 9am, right when they open! :D

Here are the pics of my first ever guns. I have shot before but these are the first to be mine.

This is a Cockerill 12 Gauge side by side. This gun used to be my great grandpas and I've been told its close to if not over 100 years old. It has been shot allot in its life and a friend if mine who has looked at it told me to only use lower power rounds in it has the barrels have some pitting in them.

This is a Bernardelli under and over 12 gauge. It used to be my grandpas gun and its around 40 to 50 years old Im told. My friend has also told after is has been cleaned it would be safe to use any 12 gauge round in it, which is good considering I got given over 500 rounds of ammo with them.

I have only read a portion of this so far, but what I have read has been quite funny.

Shrine of the Mall Ninja
I don't know man...... It's like the Mall Ninja's 🤬 with them, too. I stopped reading at "gay experience at camp(military)" & shooting violent shoplifters. He either suffers from mental illness, or he's :censored:ing with the others to get a rise out of them. Funny, but messed up.
