Gmail usually does a good job of catching spam but this slipped through I guess. One I'm not that lucky, two who the hell gives out money these days, three I don't live in the U.K.

The fact that they can barely speak English or type properly gives it away just a tad.

It's clearly a 419 scam - a Google search of "onlineclaimsagent" brings up plenty of stuff on similar frauds...

"UNITED KINGDOM LOTTERY" and "BRITISH LOTTERY" (used interchangeably) is actually "The National Lottery" or "Lotto".

"The Lottery Company" is actually "Camelot".

Harrogate? The most important thing to be based in Harrogate is Yorkshire Tea...

Maybe if they payed attention that I lived in the United States. What's the point of these kinds of emails if someone actually responds to them like they've won? A prank or to plant a virus?

It's probably not a prank - they are phishing for people to give them their credit card details, bank details or other personal data that maybe used in identity theft or other types of fraud.

You have no idea how many ninja's I have shot trying to get the free laptop, it still hasn't come yet

I would personally watch for scammers on ebay, I once had the luxury of someone sending me a false paypal e-mail saying my payment had been confirmed, therefore I would send my item without receiving payment, fortunatly I refrained from sending the item after realising one of the links was indeed fake, so watch out for it.👍
