Are you guys using Cockpit view only? That would be so fun I will do that when I do my 24hr race when I get 1.21 gigawatts to power my PS3 for 6 days straight :lol:

Update on my solo progress:

I am 5 hours and 33 minutes into the race, currently on lap 91 and retired for the evening. My lead sits at 2 minutes and 39 seconds and has been as low as 5 seconds due to running one lap too many on a set of tires and entering spinville( I think that's one of the round-a-bout exits off Muslanne Straight). Top lap time is 3'27.208 on lap 67. It's been completely dark for a while now and that has taken some getting used to. My laps started about 6 seconds slower than normal pace with the darkness and now I have them down to 2-3 seconds below normal pace. Driving past the start finsih line with all the lights on is a sight to behold and something I recommend to any GT and racing fan. I feel like the fireworks have been a slight distraction from my line/ braking points but also kind of cool to see. Well, I hope to get close to 8 hours in throughout the day but that may be tough and exhausting. My right forearm/wrist is also aching a little so that is something I need to keep an eye on. I ran the Nürburgring 4 hours Saturday so it has been a lot of driving this weekend.

Samie57: I am using bumper cam, I just can't drive good with cockpit view. I do plan to save the replay and best lap replay so I can watch from cockpit camera though.

Hi guys, 16 hour and a half mark!

We are still in 10th place, fair to say we will be finishing there. Although i'm okay with this as i'm sure it still goes in your percentage complete rate anyhow! :) We started at 4PM on Sunday and it is now 9:45AM on the Monday, me and the current driver (who is the other avid GT player) are the only ones awake, everyone else is going for a race nap. :lol:

We are using the cockpit cam...and yes, we are all still alive. (barely) :D

So far between us we have cannonball'd 14 Lucozades, 4 cans of emerge and 15 cans of Budweiser, 3 Litres of Sprite and a lot of snacks.

Tomorrow, at 3:30GMT Me and 4 friends will embark on a journey to complete the 24Hour race within 24 Hours (no pausing). Taking hourly shifts we will drive the 787B and aim for glory.

In this thread, I will update on an hourly basis how the race is going on.

I remember a few people being interested on how our race will go, so I will make live reports of how it's going. ;)


We will be using the Driving Force GT!

Well folks, that's it! We finish a grand-total of 350 laps in the 24 hour time span and come in 10th place. Going into the race with 3 complete rookies to GT it was always going to be interesting, I knew from the offset that we could end up losing, i'm actually really happy because the laughs that were had and the racing that was done will be engraved in our summer memories for sure! I reccommend this to anyone; get a few friends, some food, some beer and have a good night in with the lads! It's very tiring but worth the effort!

Congratulations on the finish! I think it is something that you will remember forever. The three GT rookies, are they hooked? It would be cool if they got more seat time and then in a few months you attempted the Nürburgring 24 hrs with them to see the progress.

Well, one of them is buying a GT Force wheel and GT5 as soon as he gets paid. 👍

The other says that he would defos be up for attempting the Nurburgring event and will pick up GT5 in the near future.

The other actually has GT5 fresh in it's wrapping from Christmas and vows to finally start playing it. :lol:
