To begin, I will say that GT5 still has the best physics engine, HOWEVER! The online racing is still very unrealistic with with lack of grip compared to being in the GT Life mode. The tracks are like ice rinks! (Even with with voice disabled)
Tired of the chat window! I watched my brother race online the other night and some guy lost his connection and came back into the room and whined and complained the whole time while they were racing! That chat window is in the way of my braking points!
Also still way off is the tire wear ie. in real life the LMP1 cars ran 4 and 5 stints on one set of tires!
In real life the F1 cars spend less than 30 seconds in the pits (McLaren, Ferrari & Red Bull all spend less than 4 seconds in their pit stalls). I believe that it was 20 or 24 seconds from the time they entered pit lane to exit at Silverstone or was it Valencia? The option to change tires at all needs to be implemented as well. There is still nothing for me as far as telemetry, (the circles aren't cutting it). I spend more time tuning my car than driving it. A good pit stop in Nascar is 13 seconds.
The in game tuning guide is still incredibly vague. The values are what with the differential again? If my unit of measure is imperial, it should be that across the board!
All gas tanks are not 99 litres either! I have received tunes from people that are very unrealistic, IE; the car in real life would break if they used it. In real life you can tune each individual wheel, positive camber on the left side and negative camber on the right side for ovals is an example. This just front and rear tuning is wrong! Changing right sides only is actually allowed in racing. I don't like having to tune my car to the differential, it still plays too much of a role in how the car is handling. In real life you are allowed no more than 3 inches of difference in play of the wheels.
My B-Spec drivers are still idiots, they are completely scared of the exit of the Mulsanne corner at Le Mans, I mean, is there some hot babe there that they want to look at? And how about the braking at Daytona when there are no other cars around? Are they really that scared to cross the start/finish line without putting on the brakes? And seriously, what is their fascination with the gear box, are they competing with the AI on how many times they can change gears? They are afraid to pass when they clearly had the chance. My drivers will let the car they just passed pass them just before the Dunlop tire at Le Mans and they are level 40 drivers.
C'mon, please fix these issues. These are just a few things I have noticed, there are more, just can't remember all of them. If Forza had this physics engine, I would chuck my PS3. There are way too many limits. My cars should not lose grip doing 16 miles and hour, period!
Seperate the leaderboards too, one for people that use assists and those that don't. ABS is the only thing I use and on 1 because if there isn't any, the cars just lock up, that is also another issue. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE fix these issues. Turn off the chat window or give us the ability to. Thank you and Happy Holidays!

I was warned about text speak, (I don't text, I write out everthing except for abbreviations) and apparently a wall of text is too much for some people to deal with. I am not going to begin to think about what they are not teaching in school these days. A few actual constructive responses here but for the most part, the majority were idiotic and unrelated as well as just plain useless, to many people contridicting what I said. The use of caps here makes up for the lack of inflection of voice when I speak which is quite obvious you cannot know since you are reading this instead of hearing this. I apologize my pointing out the several flaws of this Real Driving Simulator!

P.S. Maybe we could get another Nissan Skyline GT-R with the next DLC, or perhaps another FTO. Or better yet, let's race around Tsukuba for 12 hours this time instead perhaps the 24 Hours of Daytona since they took time to include that track in the game. Ooops, I did race Tsukuba for 12 hours in two differents races.:grumpy:

I can't tell the difference online, I think it's great.

You should use paragraphs.

Don't look at it as a Sim, look at it like what it really is wich is a very very good car game nothing more nothing less.

R1600Turbo
This.

I didn't bother reading it when I saw the wall of text.

Yep.

Use paragraphs please. No excuse, conduct your rant so that others can follow in a more effortless manner.

For the physics, road legal cars are stunningly good IMO. When you get to the purpose built race cars however, it's quite disappointing.

You can't expect EVERYTHING to be top notch perfect and realistic? I mean, its hard enough making the physics engine and modelling the cars and tracks. And building the online servers? No game is completely, 100% what people want. So stop ranting and face reality.

Hasn't this been done to death before? I think so. Realism and Simulation are subjective terms, if you think about it.

Can't find anything I disagree with in OP's post.

Great game but lots of things could be lots better.

I'm a hardcore Mac guy but as soon as I have the funds for a smokin PC and an iRacing membership, I'm gonna do it. I love GT5 but I need something that gives me more of a challenge and gets me away from the majority of people in GT5's online rooms. For every good respectable driver that I've met online in GT5, I've met 100 idiots who think passing on the grass and using my bumper as their brakes is the cool thing to do.

Idiots online and incredibly awful physics online are driving me away from this game. I know PD can't control the idiots that play the game but the physics thing is something that needs to be addressed ASAP. I honestly think it's such a complex problem that they probably can't fix it. A problem so deeply buried in complex code and hardware limitations, that the only way to fix it would be a new game (GT6) on new hardware (PS4).

I still have fun with the GT5 though. Trying to challenge myself to tune cars better to squeeze that extra tenth of a second out of a car and trying to drive perfect laps. That's the reason I play GT5. I just hope there's a day when I can do that stuff AND have some really clean, competitive races online with people that have proved (license tests) they can race clean and competitive.

@the 666 dude. You probably use assists then because everyone of my friends notices the difference. Also, I didn't change the subject so there was no reason to start another paragragh. @Jav Sorry dude, it says Real Driving Simulator on the box, so that is how I am going to look at it. @R16turbo, if you didn't read it, why did you bother responding? Oh, I guess it is because you had to write......something? Your response was and is useless. @Sean...huh? IF I was a Forza fan, I would be playing that instead of this. @Tribolik After reading all the useless comments so far, your's killed me, I'm rolling. Thx dude. Exactly,,,,english please, that was rich....well done :) @Tankass, ummm, rant if that is what you want to call it is what everyone will get until they get it right. In the real world doing piece work, we test the product before it goes out. I have and have had some of the cars in this game and I'm sorry if you think they are spot on, but you are wrong. I also race karts, and these don't even come close to what they are in the real world. Sorry dude, I'll use one of these new terms that all you folks think is all the rage "EPIC FAIL" <----Stupid! You must like all your stuff on a platter, easy and no work to read anything. You probably couldn't run a Linux box where you have to mount a drive to use it. I'll give you effortless lazy dude. And finally last but not least by any means @208SpeedGeek Dude thx man, your one response is all that is needed to back up what I said and make the others eat crow. You also covered several other things that I didn't. You are dead on correct with every single word you said. Thx again dude, You send me a note with your ID and I will add you and race with you anytime. I race with no assist and completely clean driving in my lobbies.

I read every single response here with NO EFFORT at all. I was happy to see them, even if all but one were useless and a waste of time and effort. I expect everyone that had nothing nice to say will probably be a nuisance on the track and I hope I never am on the track with them. Thx again Speed! I am on board with the iRacing thing there for sure.

If you have nothing nice to say, please don't bother responding. I got the one right response to this anyways, along with the one that made me laugh.

First, learn how to use paragraphs mate, damn.

Second of all, don't we have enough of these whiny threads? If you don't like something about GT5 to the point that you have to make a thread to complain about it, then don't play it any more.

Simple.

Another bit of a drag is this whole 200% business. I guess I need to sign in every single day to win top money. Bummer about that.

You should be happy we have it in the first place.

Now, I get you read rule again for get understand, but you need to use paragraphs to read easy like we do on other tread not this.

If you not like GT5, then you have to leave gtplanet please, or we can get you out now.

This is very much a rant, but again, you should make it easy to follow

GT5 is a console game. that is two fold, sims are generally a pc thing, and it is a game not as much a sim as others.

It is very realistic, but it cannot be perfect with 1000 cars, and it is not an all out sim, since many cars are not put together 100%. They dont shift at the right point in auto gear (eg the volt gt)
It is realistic, but it is not a sim. And it is far more of a sim than forza is (you reference telemetry, generally part of forza)

If you want a realistic game, here it is. If you want a sim then play r-factor or iRacing

Seriously use correct spelling and grammar, no one understands you!

All right, I will do on it improving. I have big problem is poor grammar since I was on essay (I hate it) and other english classroom, but I live in Minnesota?

The larger points/credits payout was the way to go. I actually enjoyed the game more with the higher payouts because it was easier to buy and modify A LOT of cars without investing a ton of time grinding for credits. Some would argue that a player should go about earning credits and buying cars "the old fashion way"-by playing the game, earning small payouts until you can afford the more expensive cars. That ideology only goes till about Level 25 with this game. It gets to a point where you want to buy the 20,000,000 credit cars or buy a Pagani Zonda R or two or three. Just cause... Ya know? It would be great to be able to do that and not worry about taking a long period of time to build your credits back up.

PD should have it to where once you get to level 30, your credit and point payouts triple from the original payout amount in A Spec events.

I've had GT5 since the day it came out. I'm level 40 A Spec/36 B Spec. I've done pretty much everything that isn't ridiculous in the game... and by ridiculous I'm talking about trying to do endurance races with the tire models that are in the game... Buying lots of cars and modifying them is the main reason I enjoy this game.

I haven't noticed a huge difference between offline and online. Free Run and Race, however, I feel a much larger difference in grip, and it is very off-putting.

annoyed? hmm... I not like annoyed lot due to forza fanboys everywhere in gtplanet.

EDIT: I know he is a forza fanboy! But I not like fanboys are annoyed around us.

I completely disagree.

Do some laps in one car in A-Spec free-run (practice mode) then take that same car online and do laps on the same track. Online handling is definitely different, and the lap times show it. There's more grip offline.

hey guys, i have a question... why does the steering wheel only turn 90 degrees left or right from its centered position even when you full lock compared to when you actually full lock in a car you have to do like around 2 revolutions depending on the car?

Do you mean the graphical steering wheel in the cockpit, or your G25/Driving Force etc?

. @Jav Sorry dude, it says Real Driving Simulator on the box, so that is how I am going to look at it.

They also say tha staying on a Holiday Inn Express makes you smater, you believe it?
