"Rear-view" glitch

Hi. I don't know whether are there any discussions about that... When yes, so I'm sorry.

Okay. When you are on the track with a premium car and dynamic weather. Imagine it. :lol: Raining... you are in the cockpit. And now let your eyes look at rear-view mirror.

Yeah that's true, also if you look in your wing mirrors the track markings are not there and the red curbstones are very jagged like a PS1 game :)

Same goes for tire smoke. If you look in your mirror after burning up the wheels there won't be any smoke.
 
It is not a glitch, low res textures in the side mirrors make the game run smoothly
 
There are lot of things not displayed in the rear/side mirrors, try going to Daytona and then look at the track fence in the rear mirror... you can't see it. It's not a glitch, PD spontaneously chose not to display some things on the rear/side mirrors because, as MrMulsanne said, it allows the game to run smoother 👍

The same happens to tire smoke, rain, and also headlights of the drivers behind you (well, you can still see the lights, but they are not the same as looking behind)

The walls of the Top Gear Track are shown as cones through the rearview 👍
 
On the subject of "Rear-Views". If you look in the back of one of the custom premium cars (can't remember which one) there is a fat model PS3.

Hopefully with PS4 and new GT6 game, mirrors will reflect everything. From all detail on track to car interior and panels just like in iRacing.

But, sentences like "it allows the game to run smoother" are excuses.. I am sorry but yes. In GT5 looks everything "low-gen" except a premium cars and maybe Nurburgring 24h and Le Mans. I mean, that every race is like "HD collections" on PS3. I was really excited for GT5 (did you remember? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7b1IHYqMBiw&feature=channel_video_title). I am really big fan of GT series but this is just FAIL.. sorry PD. I am really excited for Spec 2.0 update. I hope, that after download this patch and bought the DLC I will say "Yes! PD is back with full strenght and now shows to everyone, that's back".
 
There's only so much Processing Power to be allocated to different areas within a game. Sacrifices must be made.

This is not a "glitch" or bug, but a calculated purpose.

You can only push the hardware so far mate. There is a limit.

I do not expect... but it is possible.

I expect things like "broken engine after crash" or broken transmission (this PD promised to us. Before GT5 launch).

And in DLC track and cars. Maybe (When this will true I will be really surprised and happy) some cars to premium.
