Pretty much everyone elses selections was what I was going to use, but I decided to find my most powerful sub 4000mm car .... funny, I had three, and they were all from Blackpool UK....

I choose my Griffith with 500KW, was great fun to try and drift every corner while never worrying about whether you'd ever lose ...

Handy for setting up the car as you go along too...

I used a Ford RS200 (which you win from one of the "Easy" Special Conditions races) and won quite easily (completely unmodified, IIRC). BTW, this is the "street" RS200. The RS200 Rally Car would be even quicker (but requires one of the higher level Special Conditions races to win it).

This series was far too easy in my opinion. I'm a stock car driver, which means I never tune things (I do oil changes, but I can't call that tuning). When I first saw the regulations I thought: '4000 mm? Hyundai Clix with 304hp stock should do it', but I dislike racing with a car that is overpowered and I knew the opponent would not choose powerful cars. I made up my mind and get into a Lotus Elise 111R. I Raced in Seattle for 30 seconds and I already crushed the opposition. I went back to my garage and I picked the Lotus Europa Special '71. I raced again for about 1 minute and even with the Europa it was far too easy. After this run I went to my garage and I saw a nice car to race with: The Lotus Elan '62. I expected more competition, but even with the Elan I was able to win that cup with ease.

If moneys not a problem, get the 2J! It was a blast lapping those compacts on a 6 lap race 👍

Great for the >70's race too

My ASL Garaiya no mods and it will obliterate the competition.

For the one suggesting to buy a car and then see if it works or not, that would be easy if there was a loading feature for your game. It would be very easy. But with the Autosave feature which suggests that you either get it, or you don't, how can you be sure? If you just do trial and error, you're wasting money, you're wasting time, and you'll be more frustrated. That's why I suggested shopping around. Before you purchase a car, you know its stats and figures right away. Look for a light car, look for a powerful car. That alone can say just enough about a car. Controlling it is extremely key to success. So you can't just go trial and error for every car in the game.

What you can do is that if you see a certain type of legal car to the series in Arcade Mode, test it out. It's going to be in stock form, so if you know you can win in stock but can't win the big one, you obviously need a better car or better driving skill. One or the other. Be sure to have some horsepower addons as a just-in-case. Remember, if you can't win on talent, you can surely win by skill.

don't be fulled if you use a cappucino then u might get your ass beat. when i was doing the race i had to go up again a renault something, i forgot what its called but what a ***** man that renault can be a regular race car not a compact car, i have it at 230 hp (the renault), to think i was going up against that with my 100hp cappucino...i never even got under 20 secs to the renault

I just maxxed out the autobianchi i won very first. I won every single compact race up to expert (havnt done yet) with it. it's a good little car and it wins. not to heavy on tires

lol, yeah, when I was testing cars (before I reset the thing) I was racing against that Renault. I was slower in the straights, but his cornering is terrible, so I could catch up on him, even with the Elan. Ok, the Elan is much better than the Cappucino though ;)

On my game the limit is 3800mm. Is this a PAL/NTSC thing? It rules out the Elise 111R :grumpy:

Going at it with a Clio V6 modified (except nitro, I don't like that, I think it's a bit like steroids...).

It's a very "alive" drive, but a whole lotta fun ! Shure keeps U from falling asleep @ 4am... since the competition doesn't stand a chance !

That's strange, I'm on PAL and I'm sure the limit was 4000mm on my game.

By the way, I used an '86 MR2 (not supercharged) with mild mods (about 190bhp) and I won it easy. That Renault was only slightly faster on the straights and braked/cornered badly.

Here's the thing. If you buy an Elise in the game, sure, you'll be able to win the race almost without trying (granted there isn't another Elise looking to blow out the competition). But if you're going to compete in the Elise Cup, either modify the one you have, or work to get the Motorsport Elise.

Now that I think about it, after unlocking the Mitsubishi CZ-3 Tarmac (would look good in America, had it been up to spec), it was actually a pretty fun car to drive in the game. With 4WD, some good tires and all, its handling is anything but subpar. Only trouble you MAY have is its acceleration and top speed. Even in its class, it can be hard to fight back from a spinout. So just hang in there and don't give up. Dig me, homies?

I used a 106 1.3 Rallye, with following upgrades:

-Racing brakes
-Stage 1 weight reduction
-Triple plate clutch
-Racing flywheel
-Racing chip
-Oil change(offcourse)
-Tires

Lowered it to the max, and softened the rear suspension up a bit.

It was quite hard, my fastest car in the line up was a tuned Colt 1.5. Wasn't easy. But i qualified to every race and won. Good luck!

Btw: you guys are bad drivers.

need to figure out whats the best compact car to use for world compact car race. Credits is no object.

Best compact car would be the cappachino as it is very cheap as well as easy to tune and race

For the World Comp.Car race, use the car you won from the k-lite race.
its the smallest and lightest car i have seen so far.. :sly: .. tune it a bit for some hp and speed and power and you wil be A'Ok! :dopey:

I used a "medium well" tuned Mitsubishi mirage, no problem at all
My 2nd choice would be a Peugeot 206 RC.
A more challenging choice that I'll try later this week would be the Toyota Starlet.
