I need something that will reach from the back to the front.
My case has USB ports in the front, but my brother couldn't switch them from the back.

most front panel ports use motherboard headers for their connection. Which means you probably need to find a PCI USB card with a compatible header.

i have an old case without front usb, i just ran an extension cable from the back of the case around to underneath my monitor and stuck it to the desk with blue-tac, now i can insert my usb thumb drive and it doesn't move. cheaper and easier than buying a new case and rebuilding my pc in it

I think I'm going to get this hub:
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=17-111-965&depa=0

I don't know about the cable, from the pictures it looks like it's 2, maybe 3 feet. I don't know if that's enough for it to get a good spot.
If you just want one port, just get the cable:

$1.99 + $0.99 shipping...and it's 6 feet...but beware the signal is gonna have some noticable latency and strength loss over that distance...you might want an unpowered repeater if you go more than that distance.

or if there is a Microcenter near you, go there, I saw a hub for $4 open-box on clearance the other day.

Yeah, I was hoping to run a wheel through it.
