Hey guys!

New member here. just wondering what cars would be a great buy as I'm trying to finish up career mode.

I'm stuck at International B, with incomplete stars on National A. made a small mistake buying the GT-R Nismo '14 instead of the GT-R black edition (is it just me or is that GT-R car really flexible on PP ranges?).

I dont usually play on consecutive days so the login bonus is a bust, meaning I'm kinda tight on the credits part. I do have the anniversary edition with the 1m credits for free, thats why Im asking for the right cars to buy (hence the thread xD), this ofcourse includes tuning expenses and all.

With that summarizing my status in game, please help me out pick cars you would consider best for the rest of the career left. :(

P.S. - I'm not a hardcore gamer but an old fan of GT games nonetheless. Only using a normal game controller cuz I cant afford to buy a wheel LOL xD I wouldn't mind telling you guys about myself but that'll be boring so this will just be about it for now.

PLEASE HELP! :D ANY (NEGATIVE/POSITIVE) ADVICE WILL BE CONSIDERED :)

Oh forgot to mention that I also get 20 cars for free..problem is I didnt get them..IDK why but I contacted PSN and GT for that. Meh, just couldnt wait for them tho thats why I went on ahead and started.

It all depends on how many credits you have
This.

The Chaparral 2J is probably the best way to go for the Historic Racing Car Cup, but at 4.5 million credits, it isn't exactly readily available. The Dodge Challenger R/T Race Car '70 is a very capable car, and with the right tune and proper technique, it should dispatch most everything but the competitors' 2Js and Toyota 7s with relative ease and even those with a deft hand. Also note that you can enter and exit events to provide for yourself a grid a little more easily handled (I lucked out and loaded the Apricot Hill event with a pair of Chaparral 2Ds at the front of the pack and neither of the monsters).

I agree with you about the 2J, I love that car. but there is a lot of different cars to use in the career races and as I said it all depends on the credits you to buy that car.

I suck too much to even get past halfway the redbull challenge but I heard it IS the best way to earn credits fast...REALLY FAST xD

As for the list..THANK YOU SO MUCH!! This is what I've been looking for since at the beginning...I guess I suck at researching with this too -.- anyways thanks a lot! Will get a hold of the few cars here..I think I already owned a couple of them if I'm not mistaken.

I am not an everyday gamer either, but I usually log in everyday, so that I can maintain max bonus for my weekend gaming. I have 3 accounts, and logging into all three only takes about 4 minutes each evening. (While logged in , I sometimes sneak a quick mid-week time trial or two).

With the red bull challenge use all the aids without TC. The best tip that got me gold is cut corners (Short Cuts).

By using all aids you mean maxing them out? (ex: AMS - ON / ABS - 10)

Welcome to :gtpflag:

It all depends on how many credits you have, and I have also found a link to help you out on which car to use for that race. https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/gran-turismo-race-events-and-the-cars-i-used.311994/ but some other members may help you out as well on which is the car to use for that event.

This is quite helpful dont get me wrong, but did he just use it stock or did he do minor tuning? Hmm, I wonder...

I think he had to use some sort of tuning on most of the cars.

Confirmed and yeah he did. I just bought the SRT Viper he used. Had to buy most of the minor upgrades for the car but was worth it cuz I steamed thru 2 events (6 races) a while back using it. Took back what I spent, and then earned some more.

Thanks @hall90 for the list.

I heard the Honda fit is a great starter car for career mode

Anyway even if you don't play every day, you could still start the game and quit once it registers the login. That's what I do.

I completed most of the career events in the first Mercedes VGT. I used the Mazda 787B (in the epic stealth colours) for a lot of the Special class events.

As for the earlier events, I would recommend something relatively small and lightweight. I think I used a Lotus.

Welcome to GTPlanet!

If you want to read a comprehensive walk-thru, check out @Famine 's "Yorkshire" thread for an example of each race with minimal credit spending:https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/a-yorkshire-gamer-0-100-for-pennies.309105/

If you use a car that is similar to the one either Famine or I used, and throw a bit of upgrades at it, you should be able to win every race. Most of the races are doable with only a moderate amount of upgrades once you learn the specific track/car.

Good luck!

Thanks man! cheers!

But.....I can't be as good as @Famine is!

But nonetheless his guide was helpful. Just got unstuck on international B using what cars he used. Though it made me sell one and buy another, but totally fine by me. Maybe after I get good at this then I'll try Famine's way

I'm glad the walk-thru was helpful! It shows how few cars are really necessary to be able to complete the game.

What car did you sell?

You'll be really surprised how many later races can be won with the Rocket car. Especially the "endurance" (using that term Endurance very very very very loosely) races.

I think the LCC Rocket is your best bet here. Any event it can enter, it will blow the AI away. Cheap too if you haven't got one.

I started a new account yesterday with my Anniversary Edition game (25 cars, no $1million), and earned my IB license (all gold). I bought the Fit, but no other cars. I used the Toyota 86 for all but one race, which required an Italian car--for that I used the MiTo prize car. I have not spent anything on tuning. I also did the final Seirra rally to win the 288 GTO.

I'm pretty sure I can complete the game without buying another car or spending money on tuning. There are plenty of prize cars, and the Anniversary cars make it even easier.

The RedBull challenges are easier than you might think--I've earned tons of credits there on my main account. I did it with racing softs, ABS=1, SFR on, and all other assists off.

Also, Senna, Sierra, and seasonals pay very well.

Keep up your login bonus!

I've been doing the same with an account made for it. Keeping the stock tyres on and getting more enjoyable races. Rabbit runs leaving everyone so far behind you have to race against the clock are gone when you get to the higher tier races.

I can't resist the fifteen 15th anniversary cars, though I figure it's only semi cheating if I didn't buy them. Weak, I know. Best excuse I've got.

I'm greedy on the account and sign in though. Soooo many credits to play with when you've finished the game with the 200% bonus. It's my reward for being strict.

Think I sold 4 cars back then. I bought off an NSX 02 but sold it back -.- and just used the price car instead, this is cuz I didnt know it was a price car >_> . Also bought a Skyline GT-R 99? Yeah a mistake. the last 2 were also 4WDs lol...kept them for a while cuz what can I say I like 4WD cars...it was I think the evo and the subaru wrx. Turned out that it was my bro who bought 'em. He was into Dirt games and would often see the cars rally racing lol...guess it was just his impulse working haha  used those in a few races, but figured its better to sell 'em and just buy a better one for the collection later on. Career mode comes first atm

I bought of the Rocket, and MAN THAT WAS WORTH MY BUCKS!!! O_O

w/o ups...its one hell of a "MAN" car...

with ups....yeah ROCKET >_>

I remember leading the pack with I think 40s or 50s on the 4th(last) lap on one race...truly an OP beast

There's a thread somewhere which contains a spreadsheet on how to complete gt6 basically without buying much at all, I'll try to find it for you

Tommykaira ZZII, because it's basically a lighter pre-tuned Skyline GT-R on sale for 60,000? credits and it is tunable to get a car that has less than 1:1 weight-to-power ratio.
