Hey, guys. I'm soon to purchase a Logitech G25/G27.

Since I don't have a stand, nor do I have a load of cash, I was wondering which stand would be the best for less than $400 Australian dollars.

I was looking at the WheelStandPro which seems pretty good, but I'm not an enthusiast with these products, so was wondering if there were other solutions, possibly cheaper?

Cheers in advance.

Dont laugh but im using an ironing board at the moment, till i get my stand through.

ps, its a cool board, its in blue camo!! :nervous:

If you are buying a wheelstand because of the space it will save as well as it's mobility/versatility, you can't go wrong by choosing either the Fanatec wheelstand or the Wheelstand Pro. I owned the Wheelstand Pro and it worked really well. However, if you have the space I would recommend trying to find an old computer desk or a similar-sized table to mount your wheel on. This is the one I am using right now:

I found it for $10 at a second-hand store. It is an old computer desk and it is missing the keyboard tray which is perfect anyway. The G25 and shifter are mounted rock solid on it with just the clamps they come with. But just in case, you can do like I did and use the G25 drilling template and hard-mount the wheel with screws. It is much more stable than the wheelstand and a lot cheaper. The G25 pedals (and DFGT pedals for that matter) have teeth on the bottom that really grip well to carpet, so they won't budge even under heavy use if you are planning on using them on carpet. I also have my TV set up on the table right behind the wheel now. Trust me, you want the TV as close to your face as you can stand. I have it about 24" from my eyes now (it's a 26" 720p LCD). With the wheelstand I was sitting about 4 feet from the TV. Now, with it closer I am putting in much faster, more consistent times. I wish I had just got one of these desks in the first place :dunce: But I have the space (just barely ;) ) to use this setup. Maybe you have space or other considerations (wife/girlfriend) to worry about. So, if space is an issue and you need to be able to store the wheel when not using it, then a wheelstand is the way to go.

Quite simply, because you are in Australia there is absolutely nothing available that is "great". Particularly for under $400.

We can't get anything from Fanantec yet here but apparently they will start selling here by years end.

Thanksg guys, although I'm a bit of a minimalist, so I'll probably buy the WheelStandPro. 👍
