Hi everybody. I am interested in recreating races in GT6 that are as real as possible. There are several race categories available in GT6 - and even selectable in online mode (GT 3, GT 300, GT 500, JGTC, Kart, NASCAR, LMP, LMGT).

But I was unable to find all necessary informations about the real races in these categories in one place. Information like:

- on what tracks are those races?
- car regulations?
- how many laps is each race or how much time (24 hours)?
- driving aids restricted?
- other regulations (like forced pit stop)?

Here are a lot of races series: http://www.fia.com/sport/competitions and here: http://www.nascar.com

I did find the information that JGTC is now named Super GT and separeted in GT 300 and GT 500. But on their homepage (http://www.supergt.net/en) lots of information is missing.

Has anybody ever found some race information for GT6?

As for GT3 racing check out the Blancpain GT series. This season it consist of the sprint series (former FIA GT) and endurance series. http://www.blancpain-gt-series.com

Less important and probably difficult to recreate rules wise is the International GT Open (GT3 series): http://www.gtopen.net

In the GT3 category there is also a number of interesting single races: Bathurst 12h, Dubai 24h, Nürburgring 24h.

For LMP / LMPGT you should have a look on the FIA WEC series: http://www.fiawec.com Also the European LeMans series is interesting: http://www.europeanlemansseries.com

Hope that helps as a starting point.

Needs more WRC. The rallycross event I attended on Saturday was the most fun thing I've ever done in my life. Ever. WRC would be incredible!

Well I think any kind of Rallye is almost impossible to recreate in GT because the tracks are missing. There are just some fictional rallye tracks in GT6.

Tarmac racing is a completely different story because there are already a lot of tracks in the game that are used in racing series all over the planet.

Wouldnt it be a nice idea for PD to deliver a seasonal event according to real life races at the same time? Giving us the chance to participate in a race that is happening at the same time in real life? So many ideas but so little input from PD. Sigh

So why they gave us tons of modern and historic Rallye Cars and even several different Pikes Peak Special Cars? Just nice to have?

Very good question. And you cannot even have some off road fun with this cars on tracks because as soon as you leave the tarmac you automatically hit quick sand.

Thank you for the tip. I found this one:https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/what-real-life-events-can-be-simulated-online.302942/

Is this the one you mentioned?

And sorry for starting a new thread on this.
It looks like the one, but I could sworn that one of the replies had a good list or chart, maybe I'm mistaken.

No need to be sorry, I'm not an a-hole about little things like this.

In fact it just shows that there is a demand for such a thing in our fair time waster.

I had that same flashback ... maybe between these is the one you meant?

I have now found all necessary information about the first race series: 2014 Blancpain Endurance Series

The information are coming from several sources, mostly: http://www.blancpain-gt-series.com/ (Thanks pyrates)

The races marked in yellow can be driven in GT6. The sprint races includes a forced pit stop. I guess for the endurances races you have to do one or several pit stops anyway.

The use of driving aids is allowed. But only the BMW Z4 also uses a TC system.

Here are the cars for 2014:
  • Aston Martin V12 Vantage
  • Audi R8 LMS
  • BMW Z4
  • Ferrari 458
  • Lamborghini Gallardo
  • McLaren MP4-12C
  • Mercedes Benz SLS AMG
  • Nissan GT-R
  • Porsche 997

I will try to find similar informations for other race series as well.

The problem with real races is they are far to long, How would you ever manage to get a 24hr race online? You can't pause the race to take a break, You can't switch drivers unless the other driver is in your house, high chance of loosing connection before the race is over.

Even a 1 hour long race could be hard, anything more than that is just over the top IMO.

Of course if you planned to scale the races down and use the accelerated clock, it could be interesting but then there is also the issue on pit stops not working properly at present.

This currently is the biggest issue with my league... And it needs fixed now.

The GTP Nurburgring 24 Hour just finished for the third time. It is possible to have a online 24 hour race in GT6, but it did take several months of planning.

Big fan of GT3 racing so I really wish we could get more GT3 cars. I understand that we won't see Porsche any time soon but the others really should be in there (especially missing the McLaren and Ferrari). I would also love to see Zandvoort and Paul Ricard (I don't think I have ever seen a game with it) circuits in the game.

Next race series: 2014 Autobacs Super GT

The official homepage (http://supergt.net/) is a bad joke. I have found most information here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2014_Super_GT_season

The races marked in yellow can be driven in GT6. I couldnt find any specific regulations for Super GT (like pit stop rules or driver changes).

Here are the cars for 2014:

GT500: Please be aware that these are not the cars from GT6 because the cars have to use a different motor (4 zylinder turbo) since 2014. Any driving aids (ABS, TC) are not allowed in GT500 cars. They are not even allowed to have ceramic brakes.

  • Honda NSX-GT
  • Lexus RC-F
  • Nissan GT-R
GT300: I have found no information about driving aids for GT300 cars.
  • Aston Martin V12 Vantage
  • Audi R8 LMS
  • BMW Z4
  • Honda CR-Z
  • Lamborghini Gallardo
  • McLaren MP4-12C
  • Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG
  • Nissan GT-R
  • Porsche 911
  • Subaru BRZ
  • Toyota Prius

I would also love to see Zandvoort and Paul Ricard (I don't think I have ever seen a game with it) circuits in the game.

I think Paul Ricard was in Shift 2 Unleashed (horrible game by the way).

There's several notable GT3-series. A lot of countries have their local series, so it's not easy to gather information for all.

You've already found the information for the Blancpain Endurance Series and the connected sprint races, which is the biggest international series exclusively for GT3 spec cars. The most prolific other GT3 series are probably:
The events mostly consist of 2 races per weekend, usually 1-hour events with obligatory driver-change. British GT has a couple of endurance races thrown in.

As for Balance of Performance, this is being determined in one big test at the beginning of each year by the FIA, but subsequently sometimes slightly altered by the event-organizers. This can be due to different tyre regulations or certain cars which have showed performance that did not fit their original classification. Here is the last BoP from last year's GT Masters, e.g. ... http://www.adac-gt-masters.de/docs/adac-gt-masters/static/100/ADAC GT Masters Bulletin-11.pdf

Point of advice: If you try to replicate a real BoP too closely, this is bound to fail. The cars in GT6 will need their own balancing.

Thanks a lot.

Well the german series shares not many tracks with GT6, just Nürburgring GP.

The british GT championship can be replayed on 3 different tracks: Silverstone, Spa and Brands Hatch.
