I heard that you had to get gold on all races, all licence tests, all Special events and also do the chicken dance on your playstation eye while being naked and singing Michael jacksons "Bad" in Finnish. And then uploading it to youtube...

Edit: That didn't work either...

haha

You forgot to post the link to at least 100 different forums.

I just watched a couple of those X1 videos - it definitely doesn't look like it handles anything at all like an F1 racer, or any other vehicle on wheels I've ever seen, even in full blown fast arcade racers.
It looked a bit like WipEout on wheels and without the airbrakes :).

I have absolutely no idea what a real life version of this vehicle - matching the in-game specs rather than a less powerful engine - would look like flying around a track, but what I saw in those videos didn't really look to me like it should be physically possible for a driver being exposed to the real forces of such a ride.
And I'm not just talking about the G-forces (perhaps a G-suit could take care of that) but also the act of controlling an actual vehicle (rather than sitting at home in front of a TV) at such insane speeds, without making every lap on an even slightly twisty track a gamble for your life.

But I could be wrong of course :).

Ive been trying this challenge now for over a day. My closest on any of the tracks is Monza, 3.4 secs behind bronze. Im using the controller and have to say that I have tried my best. The hard bit is doing 2 laps of complete perfection. As others have said, 1 very small mistake and you have no chance of doing it. This for me is the hardest challenge Ive ever come acroos. Congrats to the people that have done it, I envy you all.

To anyone who's driven the X1, does it handle like the car on Top Gear 2 (super Nintendo) after you installed the alien turbo? You remember, once you hit 400mph the steering stopped working!

I haven't gotten to this yet, so feel free to yell at me about the statement I'm about to make...

Are you sure you guys are driving it right? I watched one of those videos on Youtube, and the guy was driving it like it was a normal, albeit very fast, car. It's not.. it's a fan car. You don't use normal driving techniques on a fan car. The one major mistake I saw was that the guy was slowing down waaaaaay too much for the corners. Granted, it was probably faster than a F1 car could take the corner, but it was still just a fraction of how fast the X1 could take it.

I remember driving the Chaparral 2J in GT4.. it was like learning to drive all over again. But once I did.. that thing was unbeatable. Even the AI doesn't know how to drive it.. I actually beat the 2J in an A-spec race last week. I was cornering faster than it was, which should have been impossible. The X1 and maybe the F1 cars should be the only cars in the game that can corner faster than the 2J. It might be worth practicing on the 2J if it ever comes up for sale.. it'll give you an idea of just how hard you can push a fan car, far beyond the limits of normal cars.

I finally got this done now.

XP is very good... you get 465.000xp per bronze you get, and about 270.000cr if I remember correctly.

To anyone who is driving without DFGT on this challenge.. I applaud you!

Congrats ezzyoz, you been at it for a while now so glad its payed off for you :)

I just purchased the DFGT, now I cant even drive properly, lol, the wheel dont half shake. I have no clue what setting to use. I feel like im learning to drive all over again :)

Corvagh, thanks man. The "trick" with DFGT is all in the braking for me. At nurburgring for example, you should break INTO the corner, and not before the corner. schumacher S for example is full throtthle all the way.

Monza is the "easy" one. You will make or break in the last chicane on the track.

As for suzuka, when you've completed one lap, go full speed into the first corner, then break max so you hit the apex on the right, and by that point, it's a point of luck / concentration. Nurburgring took me about 45 minutes today, monza 30... suzuka close to an hour.

Hehe, sometimes I get "overexcited" and make a silly mistake where I never do, usually.

But driving it with a controller is almost impossible.

I suggest you try what I said first of all.. key is to break INTO the corner, and not before it.

let me know how it works for you.

Kingpin, yes.

You need to bronze all tracks to unlock the car.

I have no idea what silver / gold unlocks ( they are impossible unless you're an F1 driver almost)

Has anyone gotten gold or silver from Nürburgring or Suzuka? Monza was easy, since you can cut one corner

Would you happen to know if the X1 is tunable? And did you just grind yourself to level 30? I'm on level 22 and I'm getting bored doing the same thing over and over. Feels like I can do something more constructive than this. :dunce:

what corner is that?

Not sure the name, but you can cut across the chicane.

You can only buy the corner thingie for it, thats it for the tuning. I doubt it changes anything. :dunce:

thanks for the visual, olvi!

gonna give it a go later :)

and to everyone else... NO, you cannot change anything but wheels on the car.

I'm willing to bet that if you get the X1 for bronze with the Red Bull paint scheme that for Silver and Gold you get the black "Carbon Fiber" X1 and the Wind Tunnel location in Photo Mode.

Can someone with a DFGT please tell me if the steering locks to 360 degrees or less for this car? (And also for the F1 cars.) Thank you :)

Edit: Here's a better video on youtube. Unbelievable driving!

EDIT; or maybe not, might have misread checking the lap times.

that's actually sebastian vettel driving.. it's amazing :)

you get to see how he drives all the tracks when you select the track guide or replay thing before entering the challenge :)

Well, that explains why they're so good!

I saw you have a DFGT. Can you answer my question above the video?

He's gotta do something til F1 testing begins again.

Sorry for the bump, but I have another question:

Is the X1 usable in regular A-Spec events? Provided of course that there are no limitation in said events.

Especially if the X1 is usable in the Endurance Events. I'm in level 25, and there's no limitations on the Grand Valley 300km event.

Thanks in advance!

When I hit level 30 i will be trying without a wheel and i will succeed with a dualshock. Im on level 24 almost 25 now so im getting mentally prepared
