There is one observation that I have made, whether true or not I am yet to see, where I have found that there is quite a large proportion of GT5 players that instead of earning an X2010 they have simply traded for one. I am in no way against the trading of the car but what I feel has happened is that it has in many ways become worthless and unenviable. I can see that the X2010 is, of course, a desirable car but would it not be more special if you could drive it with the feeling that you have earned it? I always find myself wondering while online, "have they completed the Vettel Challenges or just traded?"
With trading and the 'back up exploit' in my opinion the X2010 has become a weak form of currency. I have asked several people online whether they had traded or gained their X2010 through the challenges and in a lobby of 5 X2010s only a single one had been earned by the owner, and even then he had traded an 'exploited' X2010 to add to his collection.
There will be people who trade their cars and accept that it has gone, but with the ability to back up cars and duplicate them the temptation is far too great to 'spread the fun' and send an X2010 to your friends.
There is one justification, though I still disagree with it, that would say "I am not good enough to earn it so I should be entitled to have one given". Some individuals might hold this view but how can so many GT5 users be so willing to give up? The only point when I will trade an X1 is when I want to trade colours, and even then I would be hesitant.
I am not the best driver myself but I have earned 60 Gold Licences and all Gold on the Special Challenges, excluding the Vettel Challenges where as of yesterday I have 1 Gold, 1 Silver and a Bronze.
So, how do you see the X2010 and did you earn or trade? I am expecting a larger proportion of 'earn' here on GTP than what I have see online!
