There is one observation that I have made, whether true or not I am yet to see, where I have found that there is quite a large proportion of GT5 players that instead of earning an X2010 they have simply traded for one. I am in no way against the trading of the car but what I feel has happened is that it has in many ways become worthless and unenviable. I can see that the X2010 is, of course, a desirable car but would it not be more special if you could drive it with the feeling that you have earned it? I always find myself wondering while online, "have they completed the Vettel Challenges or just traded?"

With trading and the 'back up exploit' in my opinion the X2010 has become a weak form of currency. I have asked several people online whether they had traded or gained their X2010 through the challenges and in a lobby of 5 X2010s only a single one had been earned by the owner, and even then he had traded an 'exploited' X2010 to add to his collection.

There will be people who trade their cars and accept that it has gone, but with the ability to back up cars and duplicate them the temptation is far too great to 'spread the fun' and send an X2010 to your friends.

There is one justification, though I still disagree with it, that would say "I am not good enough to earn it so I should be entitled to have one given". Some individuals might hold this view but how can so many GT5 users be so willing to give up? The only point when I will trade an X1 is when I want to trade colours, and even then I would be hesitant.

I am not the best driver myself but I have earned 60 Gold Licences and all Gold on the Special Challenges, excluding the Vettel Challenges where as of yesterday I have 1 Gold, 1 Silver and a Bronze.

So, how do you see the X2010 and did you earn or trade? I am expecting a larger proportion of 'earn' here on GTP than what I have see online!

Either you can drive it properly or you can't. How you got it doesn't matter imo.

Duplicating loads of them so you can trade to get every other car you don't have is the lamest thing about it all.

Just unlocked X1 challenge. Tried Monza, got Bronze, 1sec off Silver, in first try.

Best.Challenge.Ever.

I will definitely earn this amazing vehicle.

Neither yet, although as with the other 740+ cars in my garage I'll earn it. I really don't care one way or another how people get them though, I've been offered one for free a few times online and politely declined each time. I'd rather earn what I have in the game by myself and have that sense of satisfaction knowing it was my own doing that got the X2010, Ferrari F1 cars, Lamborghini Miura etc. However I have no problem with people who have obtained an X2010 through trading, it's up to the individual how they play the game.

Traded for the S.Vettel. Might go for a coloured one and possibly a Prototype but I feel happy with the S.Vettel.

how about option "cheated"? or "My cheater friend gave it to me for free" it realy does happen, and without a warning.. lol

I will be earning mine. I've earned all my cars, and have done no trading, duping, or even online racing. The most I've done is the seasonal events, where I come in "umpteen thousandth" in the leader boards :D lol

I'm currently at level 28 A/B spec, so I shouldn't have too much longer to wait to unlock the X1/2010 :)

I would love to be able to earn the X2010, but I think I have neither the patience nor the tolerance to complete the Vettel Challenge, especially as I use a DS3 controller rather than a wheel (I have a wheel from GT4 days but never found an ideal fixed set up for it so never mastered it). I can see trying to do it raising stress levels sufficiently to make myself physically ill! Having not had that problem (work related) since retirement I will just have to abandon hope of getting one... for now!

For that matter I probably would not trade for an X2010 either. I would love to get B spec to Lv 35 to win one, but the thought of that much grinding does not appeal at the moment as I am of the opinion that a game should be fun and not hard work!

I want to earn it and I can earn it with hard work. I'm currently at LVL. 27 and college and work starts Monday so I know there's no way I'll be able to earn it before then. I do want to try the car though so I I've started looking at the marketplace trying to find the right one and possible trade.

I've traded for the S. Vettel and a coloured one, but now I'm at level 30 I'm trying to do the challenges, something about it feels different though, maybe the fact that you're up against time so doesn't feel the same to drive.

I've traded for the vettel and a coloured version. However when i reach level 30 i'm going to try as hard as possible to gold it, but i'm using a DS3 so i'll get silver at best.

Yeah, it is different. The x1 you use for the challenge feels very different and requires you to be in different gears for most of the corners compared to using one in practice.

I already have the carbon, redbull and a couple of colours but I'll still try to gold the challenge for my own satisfaction.

I earned all three last year and only just now I have got to level 35 B Spec and got my fourth X2010.

Earned one recently in getting to level 35 B-spec.. Currently about to start golding Vettle Challenge to get my second :D

Since it is near impossible to get it with a DS3 I just traded it.

Can't be bothered to get any more frustrated with a GAME then I am after golding all licenses and such and just missing gold on Eiger Nordwand with C8 Alfa with .072

I have a life besides GT5, you know

I don't know how many agree but I wish I could see the X2010 as an achievement. When I go online I want to see someone in an X2010 and think "Wow, they must be good".

I have only had my X2010 for 2 days, I unlocked the challenge the previous night before then, but so far I have not had a serious race with it. Even dedicated rooms have become far too chaotic to attempt a clean race. Does anyone even race them? Most of the time it's just used as a show piece, but even then I'm hardly impressed because I know how easy an X2010 is to obtain. I have been offered X2010s off some friends for free, funny thing is that they have someone's duplicated offspring!

'Earned' it by grinding B-Spec to lvl35. I just can't drive that thing properly with a DS3, dunnno why. So it's going to stay my only X2010. I don't bother with trading, I kinda don't see the point with all the duping going on.

What if they got it from hitting lvl35 in B-spec? That doesn't take much skill.
If they earned a carbon, then that's a different matter.

I traded for it, and I drive it just fine. Haven't attempted the events yet, but I'm not too worried TBH.

Earned my first from the vettel challenge (bronze) and the second from level 35 b-spec.

You mind me saying that I REALLY don't believe you did that on 'YOUR FIRST TRY'? Alot of people say that, but it's bullcrap. You can't do an insane challenge like that... even with the best racing wheel... without understanding how it drives first. I'm pretty sure 99% of people crash on the first turn.
