Why are people saying that driving the X1 early on in Gt5 can ruin your game experience? I can see how once you obtain the X1, you have won the quest for the fastest race car in the game, resulting in a loss of ambition. For me atleast, i acuired my X1 by winning the special event, Let me add that i nearly never use the X1 because its so unrealistic and not much fun to me...

No way does getting the X1 early in the game "ruin" your gt5 experience, unless you didnt buy the game for its realistic aspects.

I have the X2011 and only use it for bob or 600 mph+ runs on route x online! Great car if you only use it for that!!

Of course it does... in that you can then choose to enter the X1 car into quite a few of the races and totally destroy the opposition with laughably easy wins, lapping them many times. Game challenge is over.

So that doesn't ruin the game for you? Really?

I applaude your self-control. Not everybody will have that. Especially new players who want a quick-gain.

For use of X2010(or X2011) you can freely borrow the car displayed on the car lists on one of your friend's profile, but to actually buy it, you must reach Lv. 40 in either A or B spec even though it comes on exhibition at Lv. 30, and same goes for X2011 too.(to purchase the X2011 you have to be prepared with an additional car pack in advance)

Acually, you can't borrow the X2011, unless you have bought the necessary car pack have it.
EDIT:You said that, never mind :p

The X1 can be very useful..that's what Bob drives ALOT!💡

No, it's not that. Using a X2011 as a car near the start of the game will surely spoil the experience for a newer player.

Surely? Why?

Just about every newbie that enter a open lobby thinks it's OK to use the X1.
That's because it is OK. If the rules of the room allow it, you can use whatever you want.

it totally ruins the whole Gran Turismo experience when your first car is the X1.
Don't try to ruin other people's fun. You're speaking for yourself and yourself alone.

I feel that this should be a car that is earned and not just given to everyone or at the least you shouldn't be able to use the X1 online until your level 30-35 or so.
I say this is ridiculous. Everyone should be able to do what they want. The game gives you plenty of ways to avoid a certain car anyway. So if you don't like a car, for whatever reason, you don't have to deal with it.

Then all the other DLC is fine? Or the fact that you can borrow a friend's car? Or the fact that there are no tuning restrictions for races?

How long does it take to enter a seasonal race and then go get a race car and destroy GT AI?

I applaude your self-control. Not everybody will have that. Especially new players who want a quick-gain.
Self control? Nuking GT Mode with overpowered cars isn't a bad thing. Not everyone wants to race boring AI. Skipping them and going online for real racing is a great way to enjoy the game, in fact I don't see many other ways to enjoy it. I really wish I had a free X1 when I put GT5 in the PS3, it would have made those first few hours of grinding go by that much quicker.

I agree with you 100% Exorcet. 👍 There are too many elitists on here, who feel they have the right to dictate how people play GT5. The fact is, if someone wants to use the X1/X2010/X2011, then they are perfectly entitled to use it. I don't know where all this elitism has come from, there wasn't this much elitism on here back in the GT4/GT5P days.

I'm not being an elitist just because I don't want someone to use the X2010 when the rest of us are running street cars. It's the people who don't want to play by the rules that ruin all of the good racing. Instead of lecturing the people who try to host quality racing, lecture the people who like to ruin the racing for everyone.

Personally, I could careless how someone wants to play GT5 but they will play by my rules in my lobby or they won't be staying for very long.

I really wish that PD gave us better restrictions when we set up a lobby so we are able to keep out the cars we don't want to race. It is a hassle micro managing an open lobby just because PD didn't give us all of the options to properly set up a room.

A good way to get a X1 is by reaching B Spec lvl 35, will be gifted automatically.
As long as its your garage, delivery truck or gift log, its yours, you can drive it level 0-
It was a cake back then with spa seasonal, now you might wanna ask or hire someone that does Remote Races for your online B spec drivers.

I don't have an issue with that, sorry if it came across that way. Fair online racing is a good thing and I agree that the X2010/X2011 shouldn't be used against other cars. The comments I have an issue with are comments such as this...

My advice would be like most people's. Don't use it unless you really, really feel the need to. Which is…eh…never, if I'm honest.

they should've made it non-tradable and only unlockable via golds in the X1 challenge

And all licenses as well.

Those are the comments that I take issue with, those comments are coming across as being very elitist. If someone wants to use an X1/X2010/X2011 in their own game, then how does it affect anyone else? As long as they don't use it unfairly online, then they should be allowed to drive the X1/X2010/X2011 without being called "noobs", "idiots" or "kids". Everyone has different tastes, some people don't like the X2010, others do like the X2010.

My point is... it's very elitist and nasty to try and restrict others from playing the game the way they enjoy it. It's a videogame, if someone likes driving the X2010, they shouldn't have to put up with the derogatary comments. For the record, I don't particularly enjoy driving the X2010, but I reserve the right to drive it without being branded a "noob" or "kid".

If you think that people suggesting not using the X1 to enjoy the game in a fuller way is being "elitist", then you're missing the point.

The problem with having the X2010 or X2011 early in the game is that you will never have that sense of progression playing the game. You'll have the car that will annihilate all of the competition. But you are entirely correct because anyone can play the game any way they like because it their game, it's just when they think that they can do whatever they want online with the intention in ruining the fun for everyone else many people have an issue with.

But that sense of progression isn't necessarily a good thing. It's only a good thing if you yourself want it, or else it's pointless. It's probably clear, but I think that racing is more fun than progression. I don't find the AI particularly enjoyable. Most AI races are short, the AI is slow, there is no qualification, the races are 99% of the time made of mismatched cars in terms of performance, especially situations where you have 14 traffic AI and one godlike racer that is somehow twice as fast as everyone else.

I fully sympathize with someone who wants to burn through the early part of the game because they find it dull. Having to put up with low credits and second hand cars does not automatically make the game more enjoyable, valuable, or create a sense of accomplishment. The fact is that most serious simulators don't have any forma of progression at all because it hinders the simulation aspect of the game. I agree with that school of thought.

As for X1's joining rooms online, the X1 is the easiest car to keep out of a room by far. If there is an X1 in your room, it's the host's fault plain and simple. PP, HP, weight, and now a few extra things provided by PD with some of the later updates. If you don't want X1's in your room, don't allow them. If you allow them, expect people to use them. I don't want to sound harsh or anything but don't blame the innocent.

That person has me all wrong, I am by no means a snob. My remark did come of harsh but my intent wasn't to offend the OP of this thread. PD has made the X2011 is available for anyone through DLC and everyone is entitled to it.

My only issue with it is its abuse online but a well manage lobby keep off the track. In my opinion the X cars should only be raced with other X cars and there are plenty of lobbies that allow its usage and that is completely fine.

All I want to say is that using the word "ruin" for that statement was a poor vocabulary choice because most of us disagree with it.. Of course using the X1 for carere mode doesent seem fun to most of gtplanet, some inexpererienced players seem to disagree. Still I dont believe obtaining the X1 early in the game can "ruin" your entertainment because it isnt like anyone is FORCED to use the X1... Just drive something else.

Actually he could've meant me as well now that I think about it.
I hate the X2010/11 so much that I would toss insults in my sleep if I didn't restrain myself.
