My thoughts on the RedBull X1. I do not like it. Ok some history ever since I first seen it I wanted it, I am at lv25 and ground my bspec to Lv30 so I could try the challenge {Dont like grinding, I only play arcade now}. Got bronze at Monza in the challange and thought no this is not for me. I remember reading that driving this car {unrealistic speed and handling} destroys the game play when you go back to ordinary cars which is what a got the game for. So I will grind Bspec to Lv35 to get a free one {why? cause I still just want one} but will never race it.

I personally enjoy driving the FGT much more than the X1.
I'll only drive the X1 if I have to, otherwise, Bob needs to use it.

Yep same here I use it on occasions if I'm showing friends or bob is grinding. Using it to defeat enduros I feel is cheating myself, I feel the same about the F GT but I do use that for enduros on occasion.

I agree the X2010 is way too fast but I still enjoy driving it.

For me, I think the best cars to drive in GT5 are the Ferrari F1 cars, especially the F2007 as I have been driving it since GT5P!

I hate the way the wheel jerks back and forth when you're going down a straightaway. It's a make-believe car, why not make it pleasant to drive? Meh...whatever.

I have wanted to drive it since watching the unveiling video. I'm still grinding B-Spec to Level 30 as I don't want to grind on A-Spec. I think I will be able to drive it at around 7PM as that is when my B-Spec should be Level 30. From the videos I have seen, the car seems to suit my driving style a lot and I can see myself having fun getting all golds on this challenge. I don't think it will ruin the other cars for me as cars like the RUF CTR "Yellowbird" should still be fun to drive. I will see how I find the experience tonight but I enjoy driving fast cars and also watching F1 so I may have the opposite experience than yourself.

I use X2010 All the time, because it was the superior and its's gonna make or break to your commitment on your driving effort. After a so many times of driving this car, i felt driving formula one was like your go kart.

I think you are going to be in for a surprise once you get to drive the car and see the times you have to beat. You must speed up your brain processing in order to even have a chance at bronzing the 3 challenges. Get ready for hours of trial and error:dunce:.
BTW:I actually prefer to drive other cars other than my x1. I can not even use the x1 on any track other than an oval without my DFGT.

For me the biggest problem is the way you can't reduce the force the X2010 exerts on the G25 to center itself. It's a piece of gym equipment. Feels like I'm going to break it at any moment. I used it to run the Indy 500. Bad mistake.

I have not tried this yet, but setting the front toe in more should alleviate the high speed instability of the front wheels.

I get absolutely no enjoyment from the X1 as I have no control over it. On the other hand B Spec Bob with his AI skills loves it.

I have a Driving Force GT although mine is broken in that the steering feedback is not working. The replacement I got the other day is more broken as the wheel is coming off from the base so now needing to get another replacement. I think that might cause some issue but being a controller user previously I can live with it at the moment. My favourite car in GT5P was the F2007 and liked doing time trials in it. I was far from being the fastest though but trying to get in the top 100 on the leaderboards I think will be harder than getting all gold on this challenge. I'll let you know of my impression tonight on difficulty for me, from videos I have seen it seems a lot of fun.

Yes, let me know how it went. Good luck doing it with a controller. Your going to need it.:)

Can't WAIT for Kaz to get George Lucas to design another sci-fi car to add to the 'Ultimate Sci-Fi Simulator' I bought in the mistaken belief it was supposed to be about REAL cars and driving.

And, c'mon! Why do I have to use a wheel on this? Surely something as imaginary as this ought to be able to read my mind about where it is supposed to be heading?! And where are the blasters, and photon torpedoes?

A little bird told me that a few tracks from Coruscant will be part of the next DLC, and the pod racer course from Tatooine. Can't WAIT...!

May the farce be with you... :dopey:

I'm doing it with my Driving Force GT, although it is broken, it hasn't stopped me getting golds for the recent events. I think it broke doing a Toscana rally event a few weeks back. 900 degrees of precision is way better than a controller for me, feedback or no feedback.

Edit: From What I read maybe the lack of force feedback will help me as I heard the X2010 has seriously strong feedback.

I have played with the suspension settings and can reduce the shimmy but not eliminate it. When using the X2010 on the DFGT it's best to just unplug the power supply and drive with no force feedback. I am much faster in the challenges and got bronze quickly without the wheel centering.

The X1 is a great, a totally different driving experience. It's probably the hardest car to master in the entire game. X1 races online are a blast too. You can drive [race, eh, but drive yes] it with a controller, but beating the challenge with a controller is impossible, at least that's what I found. Doesn't matter as there are better ways of getting it.

how do you win this car?

You unlock the challenge to try to win it by reaching level 30 A or B spec. You get it for free at level 35 B spec. Lastly, you can purchase it for 20 mill Cr. when you reach level 40 A or B spec. So there are 3 ways.

Crazy strong. I had to turn my FFB to 0 on my Fanatec wheel, otherwise the car would try and rip the wheel out of my hands. If you have tried Ferrari Virtual Academy, think that but even more extreme at times.

Mind you they apparently fixed it with the 1.5 update and I haven't driven the car since then.

The X2010 is really good fun to drive. It's just so stupid fast, but also extremely precise and friendly, I like driving it, but I disagree that it somehow makes other cars less fun to drive. Fun cars are always fun, just because the X2010 is 'better' doesn't make the other cool cars worse. I have just as much fun in my Caterham 7 or Mclaren F1 or NSX Type R as I do in my X2010, it's just a different kind of fun is all.

Though I must say after spending a few days driving nothing but the X2010 (while unlocking it and then getting used to it), and then going back to my Sauber C9 my immediate impression was; 'it's so nice and slow and relaxing!'

The only enduros I'll be using it for is Bob's enduros.

I found it useful to "slow down" time in my head :boggled:

I tried the first part of the Ferrari Virtual Academy, the one on Fiorano test and don't remember it being super strong. I gave up quickly though as I was doing times near about the 58s and 59s mark and then looked at people doing 56s and I thought I had no chance of doing those times. Maybe getting close to Massa and beating him but it got boring quickly. I also found it very easy to spin on curbs when you put your front wheel on it which I found unrealistic from what I've seen of real life F1 and other sims.

I love the X1 now.....

When i first started driving it with the DS3 i honestly thought it was impossible. After afew hours i masted Monza and bronze was always going to happen. Then the Nurburgring took 4 hours and i thought i'd really got the hang of it but then came Suzuka:crazy: I gave up after afew hours and left it afew days to try again, then gave up again and decided to lvl b-spec to 35. Realised that was going to take to long so i had another bash, kept myself calm and i began to get the hang of it. After hours i finally managed bronze, i was so chuffed.

Since i've owned one i took it to the high speed ring where i could really get a feel for the car and not worry about crashing. Slowly but surely i began to really control this thing and it feels great when you get it right. Now i can lap the n'ring in under 3,40 minutes.

It amazing how our brains adapt and learn in such a short time, Its easily the hardest challenge i've ever had to do on a computer game and it feels great once accomplished. Managed all 3 golds now using the DS3:)

ATTN: anyone doubting the X1/X2010: The X2010 IS technically possible to build with materials and technology available this very moment. That was the purpose - to design the best car possible with today's technology. So while it may look futuristic and sci-fi, that's pure aerodynamic engineering.

If you look at my previous post I did it with my Logitech GT.

I managed to get a silver on the first Nurburgring after about 15 minutes into driving it. Getting Gold is annoying so I thought I will take a rest from it and do it tomorrow. I know I got the pace for it (With SRF) as I did 1.03.9XX and 1.03.6XX first laps, just need to stop messing up on turn 12 Bit-Kurve on my second lap. Decided to have a marathon of X2010 driving tomorrow and hopefully I will get both the Nurburgring and Monza Gold and Suzuka will be a bonus. It is fun to drive but gets frustrating to get Gold when you know you are so close but then mess up.

First time i drove the X2010 I thought someone had hit the Fast forward Button

Kinda getting the hang of it , bit yeah its stupid fast :nervous:

Oh and just for a Laugh I did the Sundy Cup in it

Autum Ring Mini feels very Small
