A Blast Through the 80s Bash!
5 Weeks of Classics
Starting 12 November, 10:30pm UK
Post a Message Below to Reserve Your Spot
(16 spots - first come, first served)
The GT6 Classic Car Club and Reefer Madness is back for A Blast Through the 80s! We'll be using cars from 1980 through to '89, in that order, and running at different pp levels on sports soft tyres at low PPs, which basically means jump in and go. Although it isn't! Some cars will require an hour or two of practice – like the Renault R5 or the Peugeot 205 – in order to maximise performance.

RACE FORMAT: 2 x 20 MINUTE ENDURANCE RACES
This get-together will consist of 5 meets. One meet will consist of 2 x 20 minute races. At each meet there will be one practice, one qualifying and two races. The room will open at 9:30pm for practice. Qualifying will start at 10:30pm. Race 1 will start at approx 10:40pm until 11:00pm. Race 2 will start at approx 11:05pm until 11:25pm. All times are UK. Even after the clocks change, it'll still be at 10:30pm UK time. Points will be awarded for both races.

RULES & REGULATIONS
Simply race in a hard but fair way like we know you can! Deliberately cutting corners like Eau Rouge etc every lap ain't the way to go. Just be cool and you'll be fine (think no dive bombing etc). This 80s Bash has a simple format and we welcome beginners and advanced alike.

I'll be in and looking forward to the fun races . Unfortunately I have 2 Saturday on holyday so I'll be missing week 2 and 3 05/11 and 12/11 please do not change the champ schedule for that .
Tom #22 as always :dunce:

For the RUF BTR 465 isn't it low 💡 looks like full weight 200kg and lots power reduction ?

It is low for the BTR Tom and the idea is to have close racing rather than hold-on-for-dear-life racing. We ran it at 450pp in the first classic car championship and it was great. You'll find lots of the cars we're running can go much higher in pp but I think 465pp makes for closer racing:tup:

Please note: start date changed above to 12 Nov

Car Change Notification for 1986

out: BTR '86
in: MR2 1600 G Limited Super Charger - 450pp

The lower pp should lend itself well to door-to-door racing and less trips into the sand.

MR2's at High-Speed Ring make for hilarious draught battles. Spectacular fun.

Might test that out:tup:

And just to make sure guys, no wings.

Here's a video of our Venari flashing his way to a Spa win

Also I think I've solved my intermittent brake problem. My pedal wasn't returning all the way home and would sometimes stick at 10% or so. It appears that the spring has been catching on the worn rubber not allowing the brakes to fully release. One to watch out for guys..

My wrok schedule is a afternoon-night shift, from wesneday to sunday. while I normally leave earlier on weekends, I have to give attention to the wife, as we have little time together as she works a normal schedule, of 9h-18h, from monday to friday.

I'm really trying to find a new job that fits her schedule. Good for us, and for my gaming availability
