Hello gk,

quentin1974 is in for Tom Ascar (mgo) this weekend which still leaves one place which I've offered to you.

However, a permanent slot has come up and as your name was down first the offer should go to you? If you want to stay Reserve then the permanent place will be offered to quentin1974. See how you feel gk.

Jammy is the only other driver to indicate his absence (on weeks 2, 3 and 5) but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

I'm loving the Spa/R5 combo but struggling badly with Deep/Piazza.

Just a reminder, the winner of Spa will go onto Sports Medium tyres for Deep Forest. And no wings. Except that, have fun.. and expect some banter from ATLAS. Haven't raced with him for a while but the guy is certifiably nuts (in a good way)!

hey guys, I'm off tomorrow so I would really like to join but I have to confess I haven't even done a single test lap with tomorrow's track-car combos so I hope I will not be the disgrace in a compact and prepared, performing field. If you are well prepared @quentin1974 maybe it is better if you race?[/QUOTE

I'm a novice or should I say a novice at tuning so I am not expecting to challenge leaders or anything. main purpose is to have fun and to try to learn how to tune cars.

"A Blast Through the 80s" kicks off tonight guys at 10:30pm UK time ;) Just waiting on gk confirming his place. If he won't run then @CrazyJohn will run instead.

Haven't been on Spa since the beginning of the week, but I've had my backside kicked at Deep a few times. Can't seem to hook it up at all - very inconsistent - so I'll be happy if I finish in the top ten. Will be interesting to see how the Race 1 winner gets on with the Sports Medium tyres for race 2. Looking like a strong grid!

It looks like I will not be able to race today, I have a couple of matters tonight.

I still can't say for certain, but it looks like I may be able to do it if a spot comes available. I'm pretty sure it's 6pm my time, and I should be home by then. I'll be able to hold down last place quite well I think

I just hate both car. They give me hard time to find good tune. I'm over 2s slower with SM's in Deep Forest.

That's the mentality of a race driver ,you are preparing for the win jammy
Good luck

gk is still awake lol. Let's see if he can stay up. Come along Benny (if you can) and enter the room at the exact start time if there is a space:tup:

I just hate both car.

I've really gone off the Piazza/Deep combo in the last week:crazy: From memory I think there was only one other '81 car.

Router set, cache 'cleaned', room up:tup:

Hey, sorry for the short notice but I won't be able to make the race tonight. Family commitments ran longer than expected today and I don't be home for another hour at least. I am truly sorry for the late notice.

no problem Hemi, thanks for letting us know

Gah. Slow, generally recovering OK through Eau Rouge. Quali 2nd which was a surprise... first lap spin at Eau Rouge. Recover a couple of places, second lap spin at Eau Rouge. *gnash*gnash*gnash*gnash*gnash*gnash*

I felt bad for you Venari, i wasn't expecting to find a yellow R5, standing still, behind that cloud of smoke at Eau Rouge. My car was never the same after that.

I didn't save Race 1 at Spa - what happened to Dave? I don't see him in the photo I took of the results.

Conrats to jammy and Leo on their well-deserved wins!

I messed up Eau Rouge twice in my quali laps putting me 7th or something on the grid. Had a good battle with richy and Al which I loved and Colin in the 2nd race. A number of messages came beeping through on ps3 and moby from race one resulting in me losing concentration and a trip into the sand in R1 and barrier in R2. Apologies to Colin and fad as I couldn't keep my car out the way after hitting the barrier and spun back onto the track. Fad, you always seem to get caught up in an accident or two! Always unlucky mate. Sorry guys. Tom, what happened to your gears in race 2? Venari, I don't remember you having any offs for the whole of the first Madness Series! Great result for Al and Leo, but except that, I never really saw anyone else. Thanks to all for turning up and giving it your all. And to Jammy - I always appreciate a fast driver like you coming along even although you are clearly strides ahead of everyone else! Looking forward to having Tom_Ascar back next week.

Both cars gave me hard time for some reason to finding good tunes. Finally at Saturday I got setups for both cars with SS tires and SM's for Piazza.

First I thought I don't want to win Spa and void the SM's in Deep Forest to get max points.
Spa race went so good and I thought it's not fair to anyone else to go SM's.

Deep Forest was tight race with @richroo all the way from start to finish line. He really gave me good race and try to pass me multiple times. Thanks for that

See you in week 4.

Had a couple of wobbles in the first race and got caught by Leo who was flying by this time ,thought might get one back when Joe made a mistake but he got going before i got there ..gggrrrr
Race 2 i got jammy in my sights and stuck to him like glue ,i got a chance to try overtaking but thought i would be under to much pressure so held back just trying to stay on his bumper ...4 mins to go i had to now try ,getting a better run in a couple corners i tried to gain the advantage but jammy defended in the right places and held on ..great fun

I had great help from a few racers who shared their tunes with me. 👍
Both the R5 and piazza were quite drivable even with my controller.
Problem was me...I just made loads of mistakes.
Had a great few battles in the R5 at spa and was doing really well with the piazza until 2 or 3 lap; I took the final corner too fast and nearly spun myself into the pits. In my effort to stop myself pitting I think I went from 4/5 to 11!!!!

I made up some ground and managed to lap 1s slower than the fastest but couldn't really catch the pack.

Great racing by all. Well done to Jammy and Leo with the wins.

Looking forward to next week.

Awesome weekend. I didn´t expect such good results. The qualifying of the first race wasn´t all that good I expexted but I started quickly and I was able to recover several positions in the first corner. I couldn´t believe it, I was second with Joe an Rich on my heels, but they fought between them and that helped me to hold them behind me a few laps. Then Joe went out in a corner and I passed him but Rich was still there. He was faster than me on the straight but I managed to keep the position. Great fight Rich. Later Leo came back, I still do not know how I could hold it behind me. I was a little faster in Eau Rouge and that allowed me to defend myself on the straight, but if the race had lasted a couple of laps more I would not have happened.:odd: Jammy was unreachable.
I tought I would win the second race if Jammy held Joe and Leo a little longer, but this did not happen and I quickly found myself struggling with Leo. Great and clean fight Leo.
I'm glad I did not make big mistakes in the race, but the choice of a good gearbox is my pending issue.:banghead:
I hope to see you the next Saturday night. Good week friends.
