Stupid question.. but would I be able to go out and purchase the Ultimate edition today?

I'm looking at Games website and it says it's not for sale until next week.

I'm not sure I can wait that long :(

I live in the UK if that affects anything.

The Ultimate Edition is digital only and as far as I know is available for everyone to pre-order and play on the 10th. So you should be able to purchase it from your Xbone and start downloading the game right away. If you want a physical copy you'll have to wait until the 15th.

Actually the game isn't released hehere in the UK until the eighteenth.

The Zakspeed Capri event at Watkins Glen I just ran was absolutely sublime, such a great handling car and a great flowing track. I totally zoned out there for a bit.
And overall I feel like T10 has done a great job recreating the tracks, I've tried Watkins Glen in PCars before and didn't really "get it" you know, seemed pretty meh. But in Forza I've had an absolute blast.

I'd never tried the Glen before, and at first I thought the curved fences over the narrow, uphill section just after the main straight were imposing and an eye sore. Then I started to notice the crowning and camber of the surface and it just totally hooked me in.

I'm going to be doing the same thing when I get to work in an hour, but I'm going to purchased it from xbox.com linked to my account so it downloads while I'm at work. I'll let you know how it goes.

I'm loving the game, but I don't get why the drag strips are not appearing in free play mode. They're only available in test drive mode and whenever I set a time it just takes me back to the menu. I hope the split screen mode in free play has drag strips.
But really this game blew me away in terms of physics and sound, I've only played Forza 3 and 4 in the past and nothing comes this close.

Drag racing has always been weird in this series. T10 has never really gone as far as they could with it. Seems kind of added in to appease the drag crowd briefly.

I purchased it through xbox.com and it went straight to installing before I left to work, so I would say that it shouldn't be a problem.
 
Okay, let's try this again without hitting "Reply" by mistake.

Last night, after blowing 6 million credits on mod packs and getting rid of the other free stuff, I have a tiny and modest collection of cars now; a Nissan Silvia Club K's, Abrath 500 esseesse, and a Toyota Trueno GT Apex, the latter two I got from prize spins. I think the game got the clue that I don't want the big rewards just yet. :p

WOW! I am so relieved the handling with a wheel is not what it was in the demo. I was terrified I wasted $100 for the ultimate edition. I am running the fanatec csw v2 and I am happy to report it works well. Counter steering / drifting with "simulation" steering is much better than FM5. I have only a couple hours worth of gameplay but it is good :cheers:. Now if you excuse me I have some more forza to play :bowdown:.

This is promising. With Fanatec just announcing a Forza rim, I want a CSW V2 even more now. Until I get one though, I'm still going to play Forza 4.

Anybody else driven the WSR BMW yet, I drove it round Brands and it didn't have as much rear grip/traction as I would've thought.

I can't stop driving my M235i though, I love it.

Yeah it's surprisingly tail happy. There's a sweet spot though in how you corner which seems to give it more grip. Just have to drive it differently to how you would think.

Sounds interesting and matches my feelings on how the GT86 is represented. I chose it as my starter car and the first lap I was all over the place on those low-rolling resistance tyres. By the second lap I'd worked it into its groove. If every car is going to be that nuanced on its stock rubber, then that's going to be fun to find out each one.
 
Pay day can't come soon enough. Roll on the 21st September. :D

On some tracks, it's not too bad to deal with. I really don't mind Silverstone in the wet, but Sebring in the wet... No thank you! Puddles right in the way of your primary driving line.

Yes,but Silverstone in the Lotus Cortina was quite difficult.:)

Not me, never have going back to Le Mans 24 Hours on PS2. I know that wasn't proper modeled rain but I'd pray it wouldn't rain during the 24 hour race.

I don't mind it but I would love the option to turn rain off and keep track conditions the same know what I mean? Wet track but without torrential downpour.

Loving the fact that we can now paint stock wheels 👍
 
One thing that continues to annoy me about the FM Series:

Why do I have to back out all the way to the main menu to change controller settings?

Well atleast #10 lets you change view now.
 
Speaking of controller options, I'd like to see a setting for adjusting the twitchiness of steering.

By the way, how does the clutch work on a controller button?
