Ok...we've all heard the "release dates". Here's a place for everyone to post the release dates you heard. Chances are, one of them is gonna be right...

I'm gonna have to say December 2004. If we have to wait til summer, PD might as well delay it to December 2004 for the Xmas period.

How'd you figure that, Xmas is 6 months away from June and 5 from July which is when most places are saying GT4 will come out now and Sony said most likely June/July but didn't confirm anything.

I'm just guessing here, plus we all know how the unofficial release dates are unofficial! I just think it would push some people to still buy an old PS2 to play GT4 for Xmas. Thus boosting sells again for Sony over the Xmas period... although GT4 is almost good enough reason to buy a PS2 any time of year anyways hehe. Bah, I really hope it will be June 30th, but I certainly am not holding my breath here.

Waiting a whole year would damage GT4's sales, SCE are announcing the PS3 later this year and thats where all the attention will be from that point on, if PD wait until after that announcment and SCE start hyping everyone up for it GT4 will not have anywhere near as much attention as it would if it came out this summer.

Yea....that would really suck. And I really doubt that we would even know anything about it right now if it was comming out in such a long time. I believe the http://www.granturismo4.com is the real release date...but who knows?

Thats the date the site will go online, it's not an official site you know, it has nothing to do with Sony or PD. Check who it's registered with.

GT4 is DESTINED to slip to a Spring 2005 (at best) release date.

It will slip so far that Polyphony will rethink it being a PS2 release and will, instead, wait, modify it slightly and release it on the PS3 in Xmas 2005as the flagship starting title.

The Japan home market will, however, get a version of GT4 (GT4 - Prelude) in spring of 2004. No US or UK release will occur.

Damn - $370 for GT4? I'd do it, but Jeez that's quite a bit to spend... (I didn't even know PS3/PSX/whatever you want to call it was coming out anytime before late 2005-early 2006, although they really are due for an update soon enough)

And my opinion on the release date thing (not to mention this is probably the 3rd or 4th thread about GT4 release dates) is that granturismo4.com was bought by some stupid kid because he thought he could make some money off it when PD wanted to buy it. (If that is true, it wouldn't do any good, since PD probably already patented the GT4 name, and correct me if I'm wrong, but I think there is a law against taking a website name right before they decide to buy it if they already have it copyrighted - I could be wrong though)

I'm friends with two of the car modelers. They put me on the "friends of GT" mailing list so I get updates like this. Usually it's just stupid stuff like "We've finished the model for the F50", but sometimes they actually have cool stuff like release dates.

I think this is definitely a wind-up. For a start nearly all release dates are on a Friday.

Sony themselves have said that the game is not near completion at this time.

Think of the delays of GT3!

I'm pretty sure that July is the earliest we will see this game, but I too go along with a Christmas 2004 release as more plausible.

The PS3 doesn't come out until 2005...

As well, I read that the release date was on June 30th from, Gamespot. But I called EB, and so I will go with theirs, which is May.

Don't count on any release dates. Three weeks ago I went to EB Games and they told me GT4 would be realeased in February. Three days ago I went and they told me it would be released around May. With the way things go, I think I'll be spending summer without GT4. Now as far as the PS3 goes, I think late 2005 early 2006 is a bit around the corner..., this might be the Japan release, if so, I'd count on having a PS3 6 months later or even a year..., but that is off-topic so to get back at GT4, I think it might be my christmas present.
