Feel free to add me. I can't see many of my friends even bothering to share their B-spec drivers.

PSN= DrTrouserPlank

I hope they extend this into being able to race with any drivers that have been shared by people and not just friends. It can't be that difficult as all you need is a master list of all shared drivers and it would just pick some at random to race against you. The race is hosted on your machine so there's no need for any of the other people to be online at the same time as you in order for this to work.

Looks like if someone is doing a remote race with your bob you can not use him.

so atm both my bob are being using by someone else interesting :) so i will earn xp and credits for doing nothing ahaha

So when a mate is using your Bobs, you also gain some prize money/xp?

Sweet! 👍 I won't be able to use the computer at work for GTAnywhere, I'll likely use it sometimes when I'm at a mates house. That's great incentive to share your Bobs.

I'm reading this thread from my iPhone and don't have access to my ps3 at the mo. Can someone please talk me through the process of taking part in this remote racing?
Thanks in advance

I have to say this thing is pretty cool. It works really well. You earn B-Spec XP, Cr., and Driver Skill....

Just to be clear do you mean you gain xp for your main B-spec career and not just xp for your B-spec drivers?

The below extracts from the remote racing page on Gran-Turismo.com are what grabbed my attention. The key point here is only the host's PS3 needs to be on and not the PS3's of the other friends who's Bob's have been invited to race, previously I was under impression everyone participating had to have their PS3's on which would have made finding someone to race difficult.

Also if you're just using this for grinding xp and credits then a second account on your PS3 can be the host which is running GT5 so that you can invite multiple drivers from your main account for races started from a web browser on a computer or phone (it works on my iPhone).

Remote Racing

...Even if you are not hosting the remote race, and even if you don’t have your PS3 turned on, your friends may level up your driver for you in their races....

...* You cannot give commands to your driver during a remote race.
* You can only select one of your drivers to participate in a single remote race, but you can select multiple drivers from the same friend to participate in that race....

This is a colossal letdown.

Would it really have been that difficult to let us start Endurance races against AI remotely? Really? And what the hell is with all this "set to online" business?

Add me for remote races, anyway - Jeremy_Paxman
4 drivers available, levels 30, 29, 28 and 20.

 it's a colossal letdown, but you'll happily take the "rewards" :p

Thanks for digging through the info Neal, it's somewhat more obvious why you can't use your Bobs whilst they're set to "online".
Now that the infra-structure is up and running, it might be easy to tweak in the future.

Why, of course.
I made a pie earlier that was a colossal letdown. But I still ate it.
The Star Wars prequels were colossal letdowns. Still watched them all.

Etc. The list could go on forever.

What if you have separate PSN ID's both registered to the same email address?
I think thats how my normal account and my GTP account are setup....same email address.

Or is that not even possible? I'll have to check when I get home.

Doesn't look like there is an option to switch between PSN ID's after signing in with your main PSN account.

You can add me if you want to remote racing i have 4 b-spec drivers online from level 37 to level 33 . psn: Quiinten

Well, I'm pretty sure B-Spec Remote / Gran Turismo Anywhere was always advertised to be just as it is in GT5. So I guess, as with the pie, you've only let yourself down. :ouch:

I was under the impression we would be able to give orders to the drivers still.

The original teaser mentioned "allowing the drivers to race by themselves" or similar, and I'm pretty sure there was a little "disclaimer" saying that "you will not be able to issue orders to your drivers" - or similar. That was what was put up on the official site.

Thus, I saw it as an automated battle of the AIs from the beginning.

The important question:
How much XP and CR is earned using remote racing in comparison to other methods like regular B-spec?

AI battles it is then. Doesn't seem to be working very well though. My level 40 just lost to 2 level 20's. They just drove round in formation for 20 minutes. Didn't see 1 attempt at an overtake at all 👎

I tried Remote Racing this morning, and I earned about 5000CR for two races, and around 4000XP. I placed 1st in the first race, and 2nd in the second race.

My Bobs are very low level, not sure if that affects how things turn out. I'm guessing this is mainly a remote way to gain XP for your drivers, and not CR.

This is kind of a disappointment. I thought that it was going to allow us to race any B-Spec race, not just the one specified there by Polyphony.

Thats really dissapointing that you have to race with other bobs and cant race alone againt the AI.

Pointless for me. I don't have any friends with GT5 playing B-Spec and I ain't going to add random people just to do this.

Have yet to see the rewards, but it looks like a nice way to farm cash when you're at work. 👍
