Question.

Do I have to be online so that other players take my bots to remote race?

Call me dense but I didn't realize their would actually be a graphical race on the TV while running a remote race.

I just started a remote race and switched the TV back to see the PS3 input and I can see the race. Kinda cool as I thought it would just be remote waiting screen or text saying "remote race in progress".

Yeah, but its cool if you have to go to work or school. So you can always do few at a time, just turn on PS3, leave on the Remote race, and turn off TV

I would like to know this too. When i started some races earlier all my gt5 friends were there to choose from but i could only select from a few that were highlighted. Now either the ones i couldn't select from were either ...

a, offline

or

b, not sharing drivers

Its b. They dont have to be online, they just have to be shared.

You also cannot select drivers that are already in another race. As far as i noticed there's no need to be online

Have yet to see the rewards, but it looks like a nice way to farm cash when you're at work. 👍

I must be missing the point of this since I'm failing to see how it's better to do this than start the Bobs on Tsukuba before I head off to work, unless we're talking pre-latest-round-of-seasonal-type XP and credits.

Cool. Abriael if you want to confirm it im offline right now. See if you can pick any of my drivers :)

Just to be clear do you mean you gain xp for your main B-spec career and not just xp for your B-spec drivers?

The below extracts from the remote racing page on Gran-Turismo.com are what grabbed my attention. The key point here is only the host's PS3 needs to be on and not the PS3's of the other friends who's Bob's have been invited to race, previously I was under impression everyone participating had to have their PS3's on which would have made finding someone to race difficult.

Also if you're just using this for grinding xp and credits then a second account on your PS3 can be the host which is running GT5 so that you can invite multiple drivers from your main account for races started from a web browser on a computer or phone (it works on my iPhone).
Yes you earn both B-Spec Xp and driver XP. The amount depends on how many drivers and the length of the race. Probably some other variables too.

I can confirm i can pick your drivers even when you are offline. The only factors are if your drivers are "busy" playing with someone else, and if you have drivers shared (which is what the names grayed out depends on).

On the other hand, the monetary/xp prizes seem a tad lame, of course the fact that you can have your multiple drivers going all day long even when your PS3 isn't even connected, means you will get a lot of credits in the bulk. :(

I'm hoping the 3 "pips" don't mean that each driver can accumulate only 3 prizes before you grab them though

Anyone else failing to be able to log in properly now at gran-turismo.com?

I logged on at work and it seemed fine but hadn't set my PS3 up for remote racing yet. Now I'm home I'm trying to sort it out but it's not working...

It comes up with 'Under Maintenance' in a whole bunch of different languages... Anyone else get this?

I made the mistake of sharing all my Bobs and now I can't use them because they seem to be booked. Heh oops

You can't use anything that's "shared" while it's shared, whether it's actually being used or not. So if you wanna use any of your bobs offline you need to unshare them and reshare them after :D

Aha... thanks.

If anyone wants to add me for B-Spec races, feel free. I don't have many friends who's Bspec drivers are online.

Does anyone know if it's possible to add Friends from Granturismo.com? Or, do you have to do it from your ps3?

All Im going to say is this thing is epic. I got 16 Drivers duking it out at Daytona for 20 laps. Like watching a real race. Plus I got the live timing on the computer to watch.

I'm on gran-turismo.com now, anyone needs some friendly competition, add me, r00dboy_500.

See you online!
