This is the discussion thread for an article on GTPlanet:

Renault Espace F1 Returns to Gran Turismo

One of the all-time classic fan-favorite Gran Turismo cars is making its way back to the series after 25 years of absence, with the ridiculous Renault Espace F1 now confirmed to be part of the Gran Turismo 7 Spec III update...

Sick.

[insert mandatory whining about "why didn't they put in (incremental version of some already existing GT3 car) instead of this" here]

Seriously though, these fits of automotive lunacy are exactly the kinds of things that made the GT series interesting so it's good to see that they're being remembered.

My dream just came true; I dreamed for this moment for 25 years and is now a reality.
The GT2 legend finally returns!
Now they have to nail that F1 3.5L V10 engine and sound, they already did great job with Lexus LFA's 4.8L Yamaha V10 so I'd be shocked if they mess this one up.
I bet that DRIVETRIBE guy is probably cried manly tears right now lol.
Dude got guilt tripped in that museum thinking there's a pretty slim chance we will see ever see Espace F1 again on any video game yet here we are.

Finally it happens. The moment I've been waiting for.

Wonder if this time, its PP will be above Escudo (which is below Super GT500 cars).

The Espace sits on the first page, 25th in Suggestions, sorted by Likes. If people think PD aren’t looking at the Suggestions, think again.
No. I think Renault Espace F1 is a part of GT and Matra Museum collab, and they just need time to add that to the game. I think Matra Museum or Renault wants to "unearth" the legend, so they are taking collabs to bring the car to the world. They collab with hotwheels too to launch the diecast so people might see the legend

Car confirmed:

Ferrari 296 GT3
F1 Car
Polestar 5
Mine’s

In the video:

Espace F1
Mitsubishi FTO
The FTO (GP Version R Aero) was confirmed in the original information release. While the "F1 Car" was as well, it now appears in the game as "F3500-B". And the Polestar 5 is the Performance model.

I never played GT2 so this car doesn't have the same meaning to me as it might to others but it's still an incredible addition to the car list. Turns out the Matra Museum was telling the truth!

Nice. It’s only right that we eventually get a 2020’s-era turbo hybrid F1 car to drive around Yas

That's why I shook his hands today ;)
To thank him for all the good things he has done all these years, and now this...

The Espace F1, a year after we all suspected it's come back...

"There’s still some mysteries left in Spec III’s locker though, with two cars left to be revealed. Well, two and a half."

I genuinely don't understand what that mean... I think the Panda is here, and it's very tiny but I would have said 1 and a half car left remaining 🤔

Same. Maybe a typo?
