replicas?

There sole purpose, is to try and look like a real world variant of said car.
There's a Camaro '10 in the game, so a 'Replica' would be someone, trying to create the Hennessy version, or Hendricks, in looks alone. In my personal opinion, they're rather useless, but as long as someone is interested in them, sobeit.

Just to correct you slightly Adrenaline, we are more interested in researching as much of the correct specs as possible and then implementing them in the vehicle being used for the build.

To the OP, the first post in the thread linked gives you an idea of what those building/collecting them are looking for. Not just a painted look-a-like. There are also quite a number of links in there if you want to trawl through as to where some folks source the cars and specs they want to replicate.

This thread is also probably better suited to Q & A section of the forum.

Ahh I see. Thanks man. Appreciate it. I thought that they were tuned like the real cars.

I believe some are, or at least they try. But more often than not, they simply adjust the ride height to try and mimic it's real life counter part.

Details and specs which are sought cover power upgrades/downgrades, drivetrain, transmission ratios, suspension settings, paint etc...literally all areas to do the build. There is generally some disdain regarding simply apinting the car to be a look-a-like.

My point was, that the car won't handle as well as it would with a real tune. Also that there's no possible way to get shock settings, that could translate into GT5's boundaries, or LSD for that matter, or ride height. (This is not the fault of the tuners, nor people interested in replica's mind you.) Simply, that what people do with these cars is outside my comprehension of enjoyment, but I won't discredit anyone else's enjoyment, as it has no effect on me. Play the game as you desire, but to me, there are rather useless, as they serve no point within my playstyle.

No worries, I was more taking issue with your point that there was simply an adjustment of the ride height or the case just getting a fresh coat of paint, whereas there is in quite a number of cases a great deal of research gong into correct spring rates, and other relevant settings. There are quite a number of us like to use 'stock' replicas for the seasonals and time trials simply for a different angle to play the game.

As you say, different game methods of enjoyment for different folks. 👍
